You can already do this with the Eleos wallet between Zcash and Zclassic now. Export the Wallet file from Eleos in Zclassic and import it into Eleos in Zcash. That will pull your Zclassic private keys into Zcash.

Do we need to transfer ZCL to our desktop wallet in order to get ZEN?
Or the exchange like Bittrex will automatically duplicate our ZCL balances into ZEN on their wallet?

FYI the ZCL wallet was released weeks after the launch of ZCL.

Keep your ZCL in your wallet to be 100% sure of getting your ZEN. Make a backup of your private keys (on paper) so you won't lose them even if your computer crash.
