I know the feeling. When greed takes over, the investor becomes a gambler and a gambler always loses against the house. Been there, done that.

An investor should never ever let his emotions affect himself. That's the most dangerous thing an investor can do to himself, losing his control over his emotions.

Sometimes you need to be happy with what you have or what you made. Sometimes you need to know when to leave the table.

I know it is hard, I know it feels like you are leaving the money behind but it is that feeling which forces you to make mistakes.

I guess that's a feeling everyone will experience at least once in their crypto investment journey. We must admit that it is difficult to control greed, but if we do not control it, the end result is loss. Always have a plan and goals when investing and always remember that we are here to make a profit, called profit only when the money is already in our account. We should be grateful for what we have achieved, only by being grateful can we control our greed.

Coming from a legendary rank, that's very shocking  Shocked. , I have invested hundreds of dollars in a crypto project that turns thousands of dollars through launchpad like you but I took profits, your mistake is you failed to take profits when you made double, even if the coin keeps surging you must pull out your initial capital.

make your strategy at the initial investments and always follow your strategy until you succesfully liquidated, your financial decision shouldn't be based from your emotion otherwise this kind of case gonna let you make really bad decision in your investments journey. I guess greedines is always the main reason that so many of us failing to get advantage of the market even though we know our investments already increasing in value.

Lesson for everyone, thank you for sharing with us but I believe that people will not learn from the experience because greed is always something that we cannot control. I used to tell myself not to be greedy, knowing enough is enough, but it really doesn't work when I see the profits in my account increase rapidly. Only when it's gone do we realize we were wrong.
It's very hard to control our greed when it comes getting so much profit. The fact that if people were trying to control it so many times but they were feeling so difficult to make it happen. It can be seen from how so many people are thinking about that. I meant let's try to see the fact that if these days people were trying to get more and more profit instantly without try to think about the possibly for them to lose their profit instantly too.
greed will arise when an investor has ambition and becomes hopeful that the coins or tokens that we invest will generate 100x - 1000x.
but that greed we will not be able to avoid and every investor must have experienced it. indeed rather than being patient to hold on to the long term but if we remember that investing in new ICO or IDO projects has a higher risk than projects that have existed for a long time.
i myself have also experienced greed after investing in a new project ICO and when the price went up to 20x i didn't sell it and now it has almost no price at all.
since then i have never again invested in ICO, IDO or launchpad and chose to invest in coins that have been on coinmarketcap for a long time.

A few days back I bought a token from Launchpad. After they Launch on Pancakeswap I made 1.5X and sold. I was happy with that. But unfortunately, the token price grow double every day, then I bought again at the higher price. I thought this was a chance to multiply my portfolio again. Even though it grow 5x but O didn't sell that due to greedy behavior. Eventually, the project rug was pulled and skipped with all the funds. That means I lost everything even including my initial investment. This is how greed destroys us and scammer takes the advantage.
Yes bro, greed and fomo always the reason why investors always lose funds and also fall into scams. If you were contented with your first trade this would not have happened to your funds. This are the tough choices an investor needs to make when it comes to selling, sometimes the revers is the case, after selling the price keeps going and you will be in total regret (especially when the project is such that has all the ingredients to succeed).
If it was something easy to detect, investors would pull out their investment immediately they sense the project has the tendency to scam but that is not something very easy to know. Too bad this has happened.
Unfortunately crypto gives people a type of power that they have never received before, allowing to build their own markets. Even though hedge funds and bigger players started to go in, crypto is famously belongs to people, even when those big players joined, we ruled the market and we decided where it will go.

It means it doesn't follow any of the traditional market rules, and all based on hype and opinion. This is why there are a lot of people who uses that power and gets greedy with it and end up losing money because of it. If you are too greedy when the market already gave you a lot, you are going to end up with a big loss for sure, there is no return from that.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
As others say, a profit is not truly a profit if it wasn't spent or sold. In other words, if we got lucky, we should take our initial investment back to feel and hold that indeed our investment have flourished. Also, I agree, we should plan our investments more carefully and project when would be the right time to harvest the fruits because if we let the greed override us just because of the trend, I'm afraid that the path will just lead us into losses that we can't afford.
Speed and greed kill investors more than wine and women. Grin

No wonder we see so many traders eventually becoming similar to gamblers and common people making the assumption that trading is a type of gambling and shuns it. Luck and skills play their role everywhere but being diligent beats them all. A diligent trader would read the charts, buy only from their allocated budget and not make hasty decisions but play it safe. Eventually they are the ones who are successful as long term players.

So have patience and dont get greedy in trading or if you have been greedy and lost, learn a lesson and mend your techniques.

Let's say it was the main reason why many people are losing but also this is a reason why people reach their goal because of their aggressive pursuit and greediness to reach their dream. Therefore, I'd say that greediness is bad if mismanage but if it is doing good and controlled, that absolutely a reason for our success. It fails because we fail to decide the right thing and many people got this.
Reasons people are losing are very common. We all know that because it is taught in many courses, groups, communities but what is taught is on paper, in theory. To have loss or profit, people must actually participate in market, with real money, not with demo trading.

When it comes to something real financially, emotion and ability to control emotion decide loss and profit. Very rare people can control emotion and become winners in the  market. Others can not control their emotion then they make emotional decisions that lead to loss.

When greed takes over, the investor becomes a gambler and a gambler always loses against the house. Been there, done that.

An investor should never ever let his emotions affect himself. That's the most dangerous thing an investor can do to himself, losing his control over his emotions.
"Be greed when others are fearful and be fearful when others are greed". This saying is very famous but to apply it successfully, very rare people can. The market is zero sum and a minority of winners own most of capital and profit in the market.

A good or best way to eliminate emotion is to invest long term. Then you will not care about emotion and reaction with market daily or weekly.

it is our own fault. I also often experience it, we are like being carried away by the market atmosphere. What we have to instill is that we must have a target for how much profit we will make from the project investment and if it has been achieved we cannot return unless we really see the potential in the future and use technical so that we know where is a good position to buy.

As others say, a profit is not truly a profit if it wasn't spent or sold. In other words, if we got lucky, we should take our initial investment back to feel and hold that indeed our investment have flourished. It's sad to hear this. But this is exactly the fate of some of us here. Sometimes you don't want to be greedy, so you sell your token after seeing x5, and then after selling, the token starts pumping like mad, so you miss out of a pump. Other times, you try to be greedy, so you hold even when the token is pumping hard, and then, just before you know it, it rugs and you lose everything.

So, when t comes to cryptocurrency, just know that the dev is never your friend and people are buying that particular token for different reasons. So don't be a bag holder, sell and take profit when you have the chance.

Greed really destroys people. Especially those who are more greedy are destroyed more quickly. However, one should never overdo this cryptocurrency. You should be satisfied with this cryptocurrency when you get it.I have also lost a lot in life with such greed. I placed a trade on futures trading platform seven to eight days ago there was initial profit but due to over crowding I am now in big loss.I am totally confused as to what to do now but I want some opinions from everyone whether the market will turn a bit better in a few days.Or cancel my order with loss.

Greed is the main enemy for an investor. Greed can destroy us even in seconds. We must devise strategies to prevent greed from taking over us. one of them we can take capital and profits and leave some for us to leave in our portfolio, it will suppress greed. I have done this and can be said to be successful in suppressing our natural nature, which is greed.

It works just like the 'crash' game at casinos. You keep seeing your multiplier going up, but become too greedy to leave before the game crashes, until it finally crashes and you lose your entire bet because you wanted a bigger slice of the cake. Altcoins' market is an advanced crash game. You can make some profit on short run, but the more you 'play', more likely it is going to be you are going to hit a deep loss.

The proposal of an altcoin must be analyzed very well before investing. If you rely only on speculative profit through trading with pump and dump, it's not a good investment at all.

Once a man, twice a child!
Because some Investors believe that Launchpad will give them a return on their investment.
But of course, that was true and many IDOs and ICOs performed very well then. Sadly, not any more. In 2021, launchpad was very much profitable. The ROI (Return On Investment) was unimaginable (I doubt if we can return to that era again), profit was assured even with the first distribution which was often 10% of the entire quantity individuals bought. I say this from experience.

True, greedy will make us regret and of course make others lose money, greedy in Cryptocurrencies is to continue hold even though it is a big profit, and when the red market occurs then regret because it does not sell when it is clearly able to get profit.

Most people are aware that greed will cost us, but when we are in that situation and see those profits, we don't want to let it go, it is for those moments of weakness that we have to pay dearly. It can be said that these things will be repeated often if we do not have a specific goal in the first place because basic greed is very difficult to control. For me, I learned that once I hit my goal and make a profit I will never look back at that coin again, can say forget it even if it goes higher or it gets dumped, we shouldn't care once we take profit or sell.

It's quite unfortunate and to be candid, issues of this nature are experienced daily by people in the cryptocurrency space. Most people can relate with this and that's how we gain our experience. I'm so sorry for the sad experience but that doesn't mean you're greedy, you were only trying to get best out of the market and that's what most people do.
When we're trying to get the best from the market, we don't intend to make things worse but only the best of it. But, some events really are turning things from our expectation and making things go unplanned.

You only need a miracle and some whales may try to pump it up. The last thing that you said is correct however there are still people like the op who are tempted to ride a moving train. Some of them are already lucky to earn but they got greedy and expect for more so what they receive instead is a bad karma or a loss.
That happens when you're not satisfied yet with what you're seeing despite that you've made a profit already. Still, you want to insist and go for more as you try to make money from it.

Sorry to hear but this is a fact. I have been a victim of this many times, But in forex trading. The point is to learn the lesson no matter how it is learned. The easiest way to avoid this kind of experience I think is if you exit a project and it gets pumped then at least avoid getting into it again or should wait for a long correction.
yes, and that experience seems to almost everyone who has been in the crypto world for a long time. the same thing happened to me too, it's just, the coins I hold, I never sell them, even when they hit high ATH. it made me regret when the price of the coin dumped so far. Even today, I still hold on to it. because from that experience, I always take the opportunity when I have made a profit, and avoid entering a project when the price is still very high, or still reaches its ATH.
So what is your point of buying and hodling if you won't sell them even at their ath? Don't tell me that you are just a coin collector? But I think it won't work on here since cryptos has a lot of supply and there are always people that are willing to sell their coins for some cold cash. What coins was that by the way? If that was btc, eth or other top crypto then the decision of hodling it until now can be fine but if not then you will have a slim chance for them to recover.

You only need a miracle and some whales may try to pump it up. The last thing that you said is correct however there are still people like the op who are tempted to ride a moving train. Some of them are already lucky to earn but they got greedy and expect for more so what they receive instead is a bad karma or a loss.
