the s3+ upgrade kit for s1 has been removed from bitmaintech.com
I was waiting for the price to drop to get some of these.
I hope they come back with a nice price!

Butterfly Labs has been Shut Down by the FTC. Closed.

Just happened. That's one less ASIC Miner Company.

And what is the point of posting this into the  Antminer S3 Thread ?

The point is this news will impact Bitmain and any purchasers of Bitmain as it will impact the bitcoin network in general.

It's also relevant as some of us were unfortunate enough to have had dealings with BFL in the past.

So you think with all the presence of the (multiple) "BFL got shut by the FTC" Threads anyone would overlook that and would not be informed without that OT posting here ??!

If so, they are definitely doing the wrong thing...

Certainly didn't mean to offend you OCMINER by posting about BFL getting shut down. I figured the story was relevant due to the fact that there are only a small handful of companies producing this niche hardware, and secondly, just to further connect the dots, that BFL, despite their many problems, would be considered a main competitor to BitMainTech. Thus, the point.

Strato

Busy myself and only reading two Bitmain threads on bitcointalk.org.  I was informed by the post.  Thanks for posting.

Thanks Soy, I'm the same way many times, I only have time to read my watch list. He just seemed very offended, which truthfully I didn't understand.

Pretty disappointed with my RMA experience with Bitmain. It's been over a month since a RMA/Label was promised for my defective S3 hardware (1 chain, 2 control boards, out of 16 total S3s) and there's no response. Time to write another email, hopefully they can expedite the process.

Need help solving S3 wireless connection issue. Huh

Have 8 undervoltaged S1s and 2 S3s. All 8 S1s and 1 S3 hooked up wireless and working fine (added pigtail and antenna to S3s). But 1 S3 will detect my wireless network when I scan from the WiFi tab and shows a great signal (95% power), but when I tell it to connect it never does and comes back showing 0% power and no IP address assigned. They're all set up the same (DHCP) but for some reason this one doesn't work on wireless (works fine with wired LAN). I've tried setting it up with a static address and same thing happens. Also tried the common things like rebooting router, rebooting miner from software and power but nothing changes. Any suggestions?

I received my two S3+'s today. One works, the other makes a ticking noise and I can't connect via LAN. I just sent an e-mail to bitmain.

Anyone had a similar problem?

***update***
Bitmain support got back to me and helped me get it working, just had to re-set it. Appears both units have fans that were damaged in shipping. One works ok, the other is rubbing so I'm looking for a short term solution and I've asked Bitmain if they will send replacements fans.

Damage appears minor but it's enough the plastic pushed in and is keeping the fan from turning properly. I loosened the screw and pushed it out so the fan is clearing the housing now but it's making a ticking noise.

I replaced my stock fans with Corsair Air Series SP120 PWM High Performance Edition - Twin Pack (CO-9050014-WW) because of noise concerns.  They run a few degrees warmer than stock, but it's not been an issue.  Would you like to know more?

This may help you get up and running faster.

I had one delivered with the fan cover dented, that made a ticking noise, easy enough to push the dent back tho.

Appreciate the news Strato.

how could it possible affect Bitmain sales or anyone since BFL's hasnt been at a marketable price in over a year.

Posting the news here is just for pure comedic relief...
