I don't get it, Eligius just won't report the hashrate properly.

Testing 225MHz @ 0.725v right now. Power draw = 1525w

What is the hashrate? It's advertised as 1380w at the wall at 2000GH/s.

* Hash Rate: 2,000GH/s guaranteed
* Power Efficiency: 0.69Watt/GH/s at the wall

200MHz/0.0725v(stock): 2010GH/s @ 1305w = 0.65Watt/GH/s

225MHz/0.0725v: 2243GH/s @ 1505w = 0.67Watt/GH/s

That's using Eligius. Nicehash doesn't work for shit, was only getting about 1650GH while overclocked. I'll post more as I test, likely tomorrow.

Edit: Seems like Eligius' stats are messed up? Hashrate average over the last 256 seconds is only 48GH/s

Edit 2: I'm trying to find a pool that reports hashrate properly, as Eligius isn't. For some reason the miner won't connect to BTCGuild...  Huh Pool is showing up as dead.

thats a nice 10% overclock, any signs its too much for the psu? 1505W at the wall with ~89% efficiency near peak power = 1350W from the PSU

Really? I'll try switching back to Eligius then.

PSU seems to be handling it just fine. I cranked the voltage up a bit a while ago to see how it affected consumption, and drew as much as 1640w (over 1400w DC) at the wall before backing down. I don't feel like being the guinea pig to find out if this thing has OCP or not.

Everyone has a different argument, but at the end of the day it really should boil down to ROI.

And compared to other investments in the world, 6 months to make all your money back (and potentially a lot more if you hold your BTC), is a pretty good investment if you ask me.

Stupid, even if you somehow, get ROI in 6 months, you will have negative cash flow after that. Do you know what that means? (since you seems to understand ...... investments and all)

And if you count on BTC price, then buying BTC now with it in your hand.... you wont lose opportunity in case BTC price jumps in less than 6 months.



However, all of these is moot because you WILL NOT have ROI with S4s. We're talking about ROI btc here.



It seems because you can't do something you assume other people can not. There are plenty of people who can ROI. Those with free power, those who know how to trade, and those who know how to mine and sell.

I'm sure if you spent as much time doing any of those things as you do trolling on these forums, you'd earn some bitcoins too.

Is this close?

1400w or 116.66A continuous 12v output? Assuming 88% efficiency, that should read as about 1591w at the wall if the miner is consuming 1400w DC correct? Who manufactures the PSU? I get a little nervous when I read "custom PSU".

It's 1400w at the wall.

No, I'm pretty sure the PSU can output 1400W DC. PSUs are never rated with what they draw at the wall.

Just took delivery of my S4. Cost an extra $220 at the door for customs in Canada.

Nice looking box, kill-a-watt is reading 1308w on 240v.

Going to have to reverse the fans as the airflow won't work for my setup.

$220? Damn, got that to look forward to as well. lol

Yes I have, all my mining equipment runs on 240v.



Any particular reason for going that route? I'm running 4 S3's right now and will be adding one of these in and maybe one more. Moving to a new place where I have the luxury to add in some new circuits if I want.

A few reasons, yes. 240v takes up half the amperage as 120v, so you can get more miners on the same circuit.

15A x 120V = 1800w -20% = 1440w of usable power
15A x 240V = 3600w -20% = 2880w of usable power

Power supplies are also typically between 1-3 percent more efficient running on 240V, so there is tiny power saving there. Less amperage also means less heat and stress on the PSU's components, so they may last longer under 24/7 heavy loads.

I can't speak for Prelude, but 240V gives you twice as many amps on the same wire gauge and in many cases slightly better PSU efficiency, so if you can do that at a reasonable cost - by all means.
