I just got my batch 10 today and it's far from ideal to say the least.  Running it at the default 700mhz in a 72 degree F ambient temperature room at 100% fan my temps are up to about 77C.  I dropped it down to 650mhz and now it hashes at 4.4th and a mere 74C.  On the plus side it's got really low hardware errors.  Cry

I got more even temps by laying the miner on the side... xD And that sound a bit running hot. Is it bathing in its own heat output? Mine B8 and B9 are a bit cooler, to say the least.

You would of had to sift through tons of pages on the main S7 boards and probably should posted your question there if you didnt find. But anyways. I'd keep them at 58-65 if i were you and dump the heat strait outside. Super easy to do, just point them at a box fan in a window or use a vinyl tube to outside or to your central heating if you need the heat.

My S7 arent really noisy, you really dont need to leave the fan running full blast.

Hi all,

I'm new to the forums, so I guess a hello is in order. I've been a long time browser but have always found the answers I'm looking for without having to repeat questions that have already been asked, however......

I've just got my hands on a few S7's, first impressions are fantastic. The hash rates for something that size are incredible, the noise is quite something else though. Fortunately I got divorced a few years back and so don't have anybody to moan about the noise.

ANYWAY, being concious of the neighbours and the heat being generated in the room, I'm curious as to what temperatures your S7's are running at? The ambient temperature in the room is currently about 24c (the bonus being I've not used the heating once this year), with the frequency at 600 the boards are sitting around 55c according to the UI and having only had experience of my s4's which never went above 50c I'm curious as to what temperatures you're getting at the stock frequency and what the ambient temperatures are.

Last summer I had my mobile air conditioning unit keeping the room cool (around 21c) but I'm now concious that these are blasting out some serious heat. I obviously want to run at stock frequency but I also want longevity out of the hardware.

The Antminer website just says that they operate in ambient temperatures of 0c-40c. Other posts on the older chipsets say 60 is a safe limit, others push theirs to 70, what are your experiences?

.... and if this has already been asked just slap me but I have searched and all I can find is recommended ambient temperatures which aren't really useful.

Cheers
