You can also try to mine leocoin if you have many computers.

Can I ask who you are recommending this.  I have a number of computers I can put into this but I do not completely understand why this may be a good starting point.  Should I put the better video cards in my computers in order to make a better mining rate if I do decide to do this.

Try ArtByte, the official pool pays a bonus to all CPU miners, thereby keeping CPU mining profitable.

I agree with one of the posts above.  XMR or BCN.  For CPU.

And I love how some people tell people that mine with CPUs not to or that you should give up.  I CPU mine daily as well as GPU and ASIC mine.   I mine XMR with CPU and over time the Satoshi that you make does add up.  I take mine and invest in ICOs and sometime double if not triple what I mined.  There for CPU mining can be worth if.  Unless you just plan on mining and selling.   Take the little you get and try the lotto to make a lot.

I hate when people say to give up.

To give you all that think that mining isn't worth it when it comes to CPUs.
I started with only CPU mining.  Even when people said that is wasn't worth it.  I made little satoshi and again invested what i mined.

Today I now sit on over $10k worth of BTC.   And the only investment that I have was The Solar I use to charge my computer.  I turned hardly nothing into something.

So it can be done even with a higher DIFF.  Just wouldn't recommend BTC with CPU.   Takes to long to to earn anything.

OK sorry i went on but I just hate when people say you cant or to give up.
I agree with you.  But 10k cpu mining and you have a month old acct. here.

$10,000 CPU mining from one laptop powered by solar?

No not from mining.   I got lucky trading.  But started from mining with a CPU.  And on top of that most of my mining was on a Tablet and Android Quad Core Phone.

Dude you'd make like 0.001$ a month mining on a phone, trust me, I tried it, there's no way this is possible

Doesn't anyone ever read an entire post?   I said most not all.  And I never said how long I've acutely been mining now did I?  Just because I wasn't on here doesn't mean I wasn't trollin.   Which I have stated in many posts.  I been around for a long as time.   Just no one knew it.

And if anyone else noticed.  I said I got lucky trading.  Wasn't all mining.  Pay attention....

The exact same I quoted? Does not make much sense to me besides guessing. No idea how anyone can suggest to use a QRK ASIC 'if that exist' and talk about that being an educated guess.

I'll ask again: how is this 'educated'? Perhaps the word means something different to me than it does for you.

Educated because I know what can be hashed with CPU currently and I told it. DimeCoin uses AES and 4 other ciphers and the best miner I've ever seen was a SSE3+AES-NI x86 CLI one. I guessed there was an ASIC because a lot of people mine it and it wouldn't make sense to use a lot of x86 processors, but there has never been mention of a miner for it.

Again, there are NO benchmarks ANYWHERE.. If you want to give precision answers by all means Mr.Wisdom..

My final input on the subject since this thread is basically useless: No matter the algo the complexity dictates whether the coin can be CPU mined profitably. Not only are there no managed benchmarks of coins@current-complexity per-algo anywhere, but the people who do have specs from personal-use tend to guard the details because it's currency and they only care about profit..

I'll throw in an educated suggestion: Dimecoin with a overclocked SSE4 octa-core cpu, or an ASIC, if it exists, that accelerates whatever crypto it uses and quark.
Easy suggestion with 'if's ... How is this 'educated'?

If you can find someone who has actually benchmarked them by all means.. You'll see in my last post where I point out the likelyhood of strait answers..

To benchmark you'd need to use SSE3 only, SSE3+SSE4, and AES-NI CPUs. I think there are only like 5 alt coins known to be CPU friendly though, but I only remember DimeCoin; which is dead now anyway..

You'll --NEVER-- get a strait answer to OP's question anywhere on the net. People either don't know or are protective and either way you're going to get a 'google it' reply or some form off off-topic criticism or rant.

Good luck making decent money off of it even with free electric though. Too easy so saturated market and nobody really wants it. It's on no exchanges. The other mentioned here mine at 1/2 or 1/3 the rate though..

Watch out for referral link spamming here..

Im aware of both Monetary Unit and BSTY - both been suggested as good investments on my blog http://fuk.io in reports during last months - just i wasnt aware of "hashing investment" - need to check those from this side.

Sometimes coins are worth buying but not mining (and opposite). For sure this 2 coins are good.

I've been happily mining MonetaryUnit on two threads for a year now Smiley
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-monetaryunit-mue-pos-masternodes-funding-governance-services-devs-778322

We have a casino, savings account, payment processors, faucets, web wallets, Android wallet, pools and recently migrated to the 0.10 Bitcoin Core code (one of very few coins to do that).

Sounds cool ill check this out.
