I have played Thai lotto game... where you need to guess 3 numbers.

It is challenging to guess which 3 numbers will be there in the upcoming draw. But still, it is possible, you can guess by looking at papers and historical data which numbers these could be.

I have probably played this game more than 10 times. 2 of which I guessed correctly.
I still remember these numbers which I guessed correctly. Once 852 cross hit. One was 286 straight hit.

Indeed, there is no pattern in a lottery with random numbers falling out, if the main condition is met, it is the honesty of the organizers, and here you can increase your chances in one single way only by buying as many tickets as possible to overlap a larger range of combinations of numbers.

The lotteries I have seen my family participate in used to draw the numbers on live using a special machine, that machine used air to randomly move the balls (numbers) around until one got selected.

You can perform any statistical analysis on that (implying you can find the whole history of numbers drawn for an specific lottery), but I believe that won't impact your chances to predict the outcome in any significant way, assuming the numbers are actually random and the lottery is not rigged at all. Too much entropy.

Let's take the case of the philippine controversial numbers that come out in a lottery where there were over 400 winners
Share of the top prize with the winning numbers 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, and 54 – all multiples of nine, majorities of them are interviewed and they all said that numbers all multiples by nines did not come from statistical analysis some say they dreamed it, some said were taking care of numbers ever since because it's their lucky numbers and some say it's random they just found out that all numbers are multiples of nine after they check their ticker before or after they won.
You can hardly find lottery winners that accurately predicted the numbers that will come out, the majority are random, or its their lucky numbers.

I agree with Hispo, all numbers have the same chance of appearing, and if they don't, the lottery is rigged. In the case of physical lotteries, which are drawn with balls, it might not so much be due to an intention to cheat as to an imperfection, but if a lottery system is well done, both online and physical, the appearance of the numbers is perfectly random and no matter what analysis you do, it doesn't matter.

Some people confuse things like, for example, in a five-number lottery, the numbers in a row are not usually wanted by people because they think they are less likely to appear, like 00000, 11111, 22222 and so on. But in reality they have the same probability of appearing as any other, but people fallaciously confuse that there are fewer combinations of repeating sets of 5 numbers than non-repeating ones.

I agree with you both yes each draw there is the same number of chances for any combination of numbers to come out since they are random.  I just think it's fascinating that some number combinations will fall with the exact number on the same date 1 year later on the same day.  Also there have been cases of numbers falling to match the same date of the draw.

I prefer draws that have balls to me that is truly random.  When I watch a program and they show computer generated numbers to me it just leaves too much to be disputed that nothing is amiss even though there are auditors, compliance etc.

I understand it is luck but I have won my fair share of numbers from dreams of numbers that appeared the same day after the dream so even though the numbers are random sometimes there are some things in life that just can't be scientifically explained away.

I was in the NBA forum and the subject of lottery numbers came up and I didn't want to hijack that forum and didn't see anything lottery related. The discussion came up that numbers are random and there isn't anyway to improve your chances to win and I disagreed.  I believe you can study historical data, patterns and certain numbers follow and hit after certain numbers come out as winners.   I would love to discuss theory with anyone who understands this and have any theories of their own.
