You guys need to be careful with Airdrop, I got hacked recently by one of these by downloading their wallet. next time make sure that you have an antivirus scanner
We've been warned multiple times never to download wallets from just random airdrops, you never know who is who, it's better to just sign up for tokens based on a coins blockchain and know you don't need to download anything.
For software wallets use Virtual Box or other VM's
Or you could sandbox the untrusted wallet in a virtual machine.

Why is airdrops becoming more like bounty programs. Its becoming difficult for newcomers like me

NEVER JOIN AIRDROPS THAT ASK YOU TO DONATE
If you have to donate to get coins don't do it and just leave this airdrop but if donation is not mandatory you can still join such airdrop.
True though but I prefer they conduct an ico and get more donations, instead of using airdrops as a scheme to get donations when it's meant to be totally free, you'll obviously make a lot for the development of the project if you conduct an ico if your project is worth it.
