it is possible that ico restrictions are stigmatized to control the tax-free investment that has so far resulted in losses to China, or they want to make their own controllable coin. but it's all just an uncertain news about the reasons for the ban ico being insulted.

All investor are dispointed when ico ban in china.I want to know why ico ban in china.any one explain please.I am really frustrated for this news. Now I am hold my coin. But where are going to crytopia currency??  Angry

It was a very short list, they only banned the most blatant criminals, who quickly moved offshore to Japan, or into Russia.

The BITCOIN-GOLD (BTG) started off as a ICO in August, then got banned and shipped over to Russia, where it became a "FORK".

China GOV didnt' ban BITCOIN, they didn't ban exchanges they didn't ban ICO's, they just banned criminal fraudulent companys from selling "SHIT ICOS" to a gullible public.

In China, officials and some people believe btc involved in illegal activities, especially money laundering. So they blocked btc. On the other hand, after what btc developed in China, they think that btc is bad for their currency system.

Let's see:

357 pages of 40 threads that makes about  14 000 altcoins

Anther 320 tokens

Probably less than 1% of them have real "developers" and a team or a project behind it. And when I say team I don't mean a bunch of guys specialized in hyips.

With so much money changing hand in exchanges, being invested in alts and tokens of course a government that wants strict control over their finances is getting nervous. In such a crypto mess it would be close to impossible to keep track of where the money are going.
Of course there is the second problem also. They don't want that their citizen lose money and those money end up in another country as that is also capital outflow and China does not want that.

So, they've chosen to use the hammer rather than the pen. > Bam Ban!

They just want to regulate ICO  because there are too many ICO scam that date is being created than a real one. It is hard to find which one is legit so they need to be review and check which ICO is a scam or not.

They have this neat legislation system where they don't have to call us, email us, or tell us in any way why they do what they do there. Apparently, the government in China is under the impression that they have control over their country and not an internet forum. I know that the massive traffic here beats the fact that they have government positions, and they will surely stop by here and tell us their feelings and reasons for doing things, but we are going to have to wait while they stop and justify themselves to a couple of wandering monks in Detroit first, because China is all about telling the little people their business.

I think because of big number of scam ico's. Anyway, sometimes China like to ban a lot of things without known reasons.

China have one among the biggest crypto currency markets and is literally the king in crypto's. The ban of ico's is just temporary. They are going to regulate Ico's which is a good thing. Nowadays many of the ico's turn around to be scam and lots of people loose their money. Regulating ico's makes it more transparent and more and more people become forward without fear.

Hope all countries come forward with idea of regulating ico's.

I think that the blockhain represents a certain threat to the world system, over time, society will see all the advantages of decentralization. And we will give up the management system that is now.

The problem is regulation, Chinese government dont want any person to start their own ICO without having a proper knowledge or start something to scam innocent people money. They want proper documentation which may be hard for any ICO.

I think one of the main reason that China ban ICO in their country is because there are too many scammers out there using ICO project to scam the Chinese citizen into investing their money in the project, and after the funding had been completed, the developer and admin just ran away with the money without releasing the tokens as promised.

The government of China says that the practice of raising investment by selling tokens in return for cash (ICO) is illegal fundraising. Thus, resulting to a total ban of it. Or maybe China is really affected economically because millions of dollars have been flowing in and out of their country because of Chinese investment of ICO. I read that it maybe a temporary ban, but if they would allow them again, the company should apply license before operating to ensure that only legitimate companies are able to use the method to raise funds.

I think China banned it because they want to "protect" its people from scam ICO's. Chinese people are going crazy for every ICO's and putting a lot of money in it. But only few are legit and successful while most are scams that why the government decided to stop this madness to help people's possible loses and put on the brakes on their worries about cryptocurrency. It is also possible that China want its own crypto, that's why they pull the plug on bitcoin and their local exchanges.

I hope that you are still holding your coins and didn't sell when the price plummeted about 2 weeks ago. Because if you did then you will feel disappointed because the price have already recovered and now trying to break $4000.

I think the biggest reason why china banned ICO because they do not pay taxes and maybe it's because of the many ICO scam there, so the government tried to protect the money of its citizens, positive thinking .. Wink

there might be intention to prohibit scammer ICOs to steal people's money, other than that China is happy with crypto currencies.
