This is true, and in ChipMixer signature campaign Senior, Hero and Legendary members have the same pay rate, and in some other SC differences between ranks in this matter are very small.

I am not sure is there any restriction is signature for Hero compared to Legendary, but except that half dark blue coin the difference is only in the name and fact that users need some more time to become Ledgendary (for me almost 2.5 years before Merit).

Considering that these days is become very hard to become even Hero member, and fact that some Legendary members are perma-banned on a weekly basis, number of Legendary accounts will most likely only decrease with time.

I've never noticed that dark blue thing before. Now I feel an extra foot taller.

I'm not sure how I feel about how few people have ranked up since the merit system was introduced - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/log-the-ranked-up-members-congratulations-4850225

32 users have earned enough merit to be legendary and some of them may have been heroes when it was introduced. If I was a fresh arrival here that would look daunting. I think I'd put it in the back of my mind and just get on with getting on.

The only concrete incentive to be legendary is to get into higher paying sig campaigns, but as time goes on the difference between senior, hero and legendary will blur in those terms.

A properly run campaign will want good posters. Rank will come second to the quality of what you write.

There's no way anyone can now become legendary just for the sake of it. There are tons of try hard posters with no merit because what they write is vacuous and clearly playing to the crowd.

You won't get the merit you need by faking enthusiasm, helpfulness or knowledge. If you have it it'll be rewarded. If you don't people will see through it.

Aside from the things you’ve already mentioned (*), it’s likely down to ego and a sense of achievement; even more so since the merit system was created due to it now not being simply a question of being a persistent poster, but rather more of being able to create decent content persistently (way different than before).

(*) The respect that you mention is a false impression, likely to be more present when one is fairly new to the forum (after all, Legendary does sound like something rather outstanding at first). Overtime, you get to consider the persona behind the profile, regardless of their rank.

Self-gratification and a sense of achievement.  Wink Why do people spend years to prepare to climb Mount Everest? It gives them some brag rights, because they climbed the highest mountain in the world. Not everyone in the world can say that they reached the pinnacle of a specific achievement, because it is never easy to reach the top.   Tongue

So, grinding constructive posts every day and building a good post history to climb the ranks on this forum is a good achievement on it's own. Some people take shortcuts by buying those accounts, but you quickly spot those users and they will never have the same feeling than the people who worked hard for it.  Wink

Honestly for those thinking in monetary lines it's pretty much about having higher bounty rewards other than this it means nothing though you are expected to have gathered more info about the crypto ecosystem to help others but unfortunately this is far from the case thanks to account sales and different interests.

Becoming a legendary member shouldn't be your goal now because you are still new on here and don't focus on that yet, better spend your time on learning about crypto first and gradually you will rank up in time,if you rush you will crash

There are a lot of things that you get officially:
Quote
Gets 5 gold coins under his name of which the last is half dark blue.
Background color allowed
In addition to the possibility of hiding advertisements.
In general, there is no difference between Hero rank and legendary one (Just half dark blue coin.)
So perhaps the hero rank is the only one that has real changes.

Hello friends I'd like you guys to enlighten me with this simple question of mine, what other things are opened for a legendary member than the respectful rankand higher bounty reward?is there other things that can motivate me to want to be a Legendary member?pls share
There are many Legendary accounts are unable to get acceptance to join high-paid campaigns (in BTC). At somewhat extent, Legendary rank does not help you to get higher payments and get acceptance to join good campaigns. It's the truth, that partially built up by merit system - that plays as important tool to screen out good and bad posters via their merit histories.
If you are here to read and learn, you sure don't need motivational reasons to keep reading and learning; then ranking up to Legendary member or not does not a matter with you.
If you need motivational stories, please read Inspirational stories from self-made promoted users. After reading, you might find your reasons to keep moving.

Ranks don't really mean anything here, and being Legendary won't earn you any more respect than being a Newbie. You get access to better signatures as you get a higher rank and that's it.

If you want to be respected, show it through the way you interact with the community.
