if a website is offering you profit. and the only task needed of you is to hand them funds... its a scam

if your using a website. do a WHOIS search.
if you cannot find out any real information to be able to slap them with a wet fish, dont expect to be able to get your funds back, dont expect to be able to sue them, dont expect any recourse after they have your funds

if your still dumb enough to deposit funds. dont give them more then the price of a family pizza meal.(something you dont care to have the next day)

you might be able to make use of the rankings, there is belief in the forum and also if you don't trust a few people on the internet, then I suggest every transaction you do have to use escrow, because it can minimize against scammers. If phishing scams, I think you know where the phishing website and which are not, if you don't already know. Then you can learn it

If you see any service promising you huge returns on your investment.... avoid at all cost. {It is most probably a Ponzi} This includes MANY of these so-called cloud mining services. Some of these scams

are already reported and are listed here --> http://www.badbitcoin.org/ | Before you click send on any transfer, double check the destination address... There are some software going around, that

replace any Bitcoin addresses being copied, with their own address when you paste it. Good luck, it's a mine field out there...  Roll Eyes

Even if some websites attract you with high profiting methods, try to be away from it. Also if you plan to invest, then start with a small amount. So that if its a scam your loss won't be much.

To this I will say (dont take it personally...) people should pay attention in school. For example: Scammer says send me bitcoin and tomorrow you will have a double the amount. Im sorry but a 5th grader would not take the deal.

Why would someone give you money? Would you do it? Banks offer low % for long period on savings account.

Simple thing, save your money in wallet, make sure if youare using 2FA for more secure. Dont send/lend your money to stangers. Dont trust hyip or ponzi sites (better avoid them), and don't click any suspicious link if someone give to you.

1. Instead of using online-wallets, your coins are best stored in offline paper wallets.
2. Withdraw your funds from any exchanges as soon as possible
3. If possible use the reference client, Bitcoin Core, and verify signature after downloading it
4. Keep your computer free from any viruses and backdoors with the most up-to-date security fixes and virus scanners - it might make sense to use a separate computer for your Bitcoin activities only
5. Don't trust others easily - if an offer sounds too good to be true it almost always is
6. Don't "invest" in cloudmining, loans, bitcoin "stocks", or similar offerings here, because the probability to loose your funds is just too high

Don't trust anyone; if it's too good to be true, it is not legit. Use trust ratings on the forum, as well as a trusted escrow where appropriate.
