Guys

I have followed the instructions here and im not getting the same results...Vega 56 with 64 bios. If i use 1012+1012 i see a hashrate of about 800 h/s but if i raise the intensity to anything above that i get 0 h/s. If i check pool side it shows 400 h/s

Am i missing something ?

-block chain drivers
-hbmm at max i have 16gb
-windows 10
-gpu min state 1050 P6
-gpu max state 1150 P7
-Mem at 950
-voltage at 1000 on both gpu and mem

I do have the 64 bios on the vega 56

Any help would be appreciated


Switch back to Vega 56 Bios (use the bios switch for that).
Windows will take a time to detect all the cards again. Use device manager to see if all vegas were detected again.

To Vega 64 owners, my instructions don't work as it appears to be needed to mess around voltages to reach same hash / performance.
It might be stupid to add Vega 56 bios on them, but that's something I haven't saw tested yet.

Blockchain driver does require 16Gb RAM for HBCC. Latest driver might show the slider with 8Gb, but has no compute instructions to use it on mining.

Guys

Side note anyone knows how to undervolt vega 64? I cap the clock speeds at 1070mhz. Hash rates starts at 1800 but quickly drops to 1600h/s, likely due to heat. HBM temps never exceed 70 degrees though.

People on monero mining reddit are saying HBCC slider don't appear if you have 4 or 8gb ram, and 16 is the minimum. I only have 2 cards, so the slider appears even with 8GB.

Hi , i have a problem with new one Vega 64 rig ( 6 x Vega 64 ) , when using official AMD driver 17.9.1 there are no problems , everything is working as is should , i can get 38mhs eth stable and 44 exp stable with core 900 / 1100 memory on 875mv both using OverdriveNTool . Try to test xmr with this setup and geting about 650 per card , which is expectable , try to set on HBCC on every card , but cannot success , I can enable it only on 4 of 6 cards , other 2 set it on , apply , drivers resets itself and stay off , tryed anything and on card 2 and 3 cannot enable it ? Any ideas ?
And another question I try 23 Aug Blockchain driver , clean install , ddu , driver installs OK , but machine stuck with artefacats/grey lines/ grey screen seconds after start miner no matter eth or xmr , stuck on default settings , stuck on downclock/downvolt settings too, so I returned to 17.9.1 , any ideas what can I do/try to make blockchain driver to work ?

edit: Rig is with 8 gigs of ram, intel celeron 1151, 6x vega 64 , I have HBCC slider on all 6 cards , but only on 4 I can enable it and move the slider , virtual memory is set to 32gb ?  Maybe this is the problem 4 x 8gb = 32 , will try with 64gb virtual memory whats gonna happen ?

How do you calculate power from wall with this values.

Assuming 399 and ignoring power bill, at current monero price each Vega 56 reaches its ROI in 4 months.

Ignoring power bill 295x2, 390x2 and pro duo do close to 2k. Too bad their street prices also jumped this year.

But I must say these vega cryptonight numbers are the first thing in years in gpu mining that impressed me.

Miner settings are standart - 2 threads with 2016 and 1800 intensity.

Vega 56 crashes with 1800 on the second thread. That might explain the hash difference.

Currently doing 1850 H/s with 2016+1600 threads.
I tried 1850 intensity  for the second thread, got 2000+ hashrate but soon crashed.
2016+1800 seems stable so far

Is it worth investing in Vega for mining purposes, or should one just stick with AMD RX 580 series.

It depends how much you believe in Monero.
Best card to mine XMR seems to be Vega 56, with 1850 H/s @ 150W for only 399$ (good luck on that price).

Assuming 399 and ignoring power bill, at current monero price each Vega 56 reaches its ROI in 4 months.

A Vega64 (499$) with rednoW's secret improvements, reaches ROI in 5 months, and each next month does $8.41 over Vega 56.
After those 5 months, it will take 11 months (100$ / 8.41$) to have Vega 64 netting more income than the Vega 56.

Now... will XMR continue to rise or fall? Some point it as the coin that BTC always wanted to be, and in the Deep Web XMR seems to be more used than BTC.

Ignoring the future of XMR, Vega 56 + XMR is today one of the best GPU/Coin pairs, if not the best, to reach ROI.

I'm new on mining, so feel free to correct me if I'm making no sense somewhere. Smiley

I'm only claiming my scenario...

Without power bill, the calculator is telling I should have 0.10 XMR / day.

Maybe the pool where I am is just lucky but 7 days ago I started mining at 1400 H/s / Vega56. And its pretty easy to have it at 1400 cause it's just stock settings + HBCC on a 2016-8 thread.

Between some resets to apply new testings I improved the hash to 1600, then 1700, then 1800 and now 1850.

The pool already paid me 0.6532229730 XMR and there's already 0.0974204413 XMR due to my shares on latest block.

That's 0.7506434143 XMR, on pair with the calculator.

That's 4 months to ROI (GPUs only), give or take a few weeks depending on XMR price.

edit: as per valid/invalid shares I am with 22,174 valid and 4 invalid.

Can you PM the name of pool - seems to have a very good server implementation - seriously better than the one I tested on!

Note that those values are for 3 x Vega 56, running at a total of ~5500 H/s @ 570W measured at the wall, and that only after the 3rd day I reached over 5000 H/s.

For short term vega 56 is good
but in long term vega 64 is best for me

I see on many forums vega 56 have problem with chip Sad
