AMD VEGA :
Same price than nVidia GTX 1080 (VEGA64) or GTX 1070 (VEGA56)
Hashrate lower than a GTX 1080 (non Ti) and power consumption twice.
Noise and heat production are very high.

And probablt some big bugs with they BIOS.

Who want to buy these shitGPUs ?

The Vega 56 manages around 31MH/s for Ethereum, and the Vega 64 does 33MH/s. Overclocking the VRAM helps boost both cards closer to 40MH/s right now. So at launch, that's not super promising.

40 MH/s on overclocked settings.  Probably 45-50 Mh/s with BIOS mods and driver optimizations?

Only rumor...

The rumours were very wrong btw, right now Nvidia is superior to Vega because Vega uses up so much power which means less profit

So it produces more MH/s in a powersavemode, than in turbo? Hmm...
Some kind of throttling I guess? The reviewer likely ran it at stock settings.
Looks like throttling to me. I guess we should not expect a dramatic change in performance till the 12 & 7 nm are released.

Buried One Blockchain discussed the issue with HBM2 Memory and the VEGA Frontier Edition
36 MH per second on ETH

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEYhtDH-AvU&t=98s

Funny thing is, my frontier edition has HBM2 memory and hashes at 36+ MH per sec.. (not stable mind you)

Price wise.. looks like i paid $300 (CAD) more for my frontier edition

http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_1200_557_558&item_id=112024

Anyways, looks like all the VEGA's have the HBM2 Memory

Best value at the moment imo is still the 500 series cards.

So it produces more MH/s in a powersavemode, than in turbo? So with more memory on board, and more heat it produces, its performance may be even lower. Hmm...

Are the Vega's finally releaseing for sure this Monday or Tuesday or is that another Rumor ? I have 500 bucks in BTC ETH and LTC waiting to be cashed for one to PayPal if so.
It's already on sale for $1000! So I'd go with 2 gtx 1070, if you're out for mining and not just games, and you're willing to spent no more than $1000.

I have 3 1080 tis coming 613 for 1 630 for 1 696 for 1 Fuck the vega
I second (at least until new driver update makes it run ETH at 50 MH/S+ and ZEC at 1000 H/s+ or its price drops lower than that of 1080ti).

37Mhs With a good miner, and overclock/biosmod the Vegas should make 50mhs
Actually the reported stock hashrate on youtube for ETH in an overcloked mode is 31-35 MH/s, so at 37 MH/S (let alone at 50 MH/S) it should be heavily overcloked and consuming 50% more power comparing to stock settings. And for ZEC it's just 320 H/S comparing to 750 H/S on 1080ti...

The locals are buying these cards with all their savings and even taking out loans on their FUTURE salary for 1 year and more. It is free money to them. Markets have a way of hurting the most people at the worst possible time so a market correction should be on the way sooner than one thinks.
It's free money for hardware manufactures. I would advise against buying mining equipment with credit funds, because even with 0% interest you can't be sure of even returning your original investment, let alone of making enough to pay off the interest rate.

Some reviewer said that the hashrate is like on the Frontier Edition(36mhs?) which is nowhere near 70-100 Mh/s

Highly doubtful. Workstation cards are never as good as gaming models for mining. Workstation cards use a different memory cache intended to fit large files. The Vega FE uses a HBC.

High-Bandwidth Cache Controller

The state of the art memory system on Radeon Vega Frontier Edition GPUs removes the capacity limitations of traditional GPU memory. Thanks to automatic, fine-grained memory movement controlled by the high-bandwidth cache controller, Radeon Vega Frontier Edition processors enable creators and designers to work with much larger, more detailed models and assets in real time.

Proper driver released from AMD now.

Would be nice if one of you with RX Vega 56 and/or 64 could install the newest driver from AMD and post the updated results here.

Yes and if I do that then you will ask for me to bring the card to you and let you test it yourself. And when I do that then you will ask for proof of purchase and will want me to rip the card apart so that you can see for yourself the print on the chip.

Believe it or don't believe it dear but this is all you're getting

And as i've said, I doubt that! Cheesy
