I still can't reach the power draw of 130w for vega 56 like hellae

The reg mod for the flashed vega 56 is causing gpu core to run at 1410mhz and even if I reduce it to 1210mhz it still draws 977w at load for 4 cards. Idle is about 130+w.
I'm using the common setup of g4400, 4 Gb ram.

Another thing is, i can't change the hbcc ram level at all. The slider is Greyed out and stays at 97xx mb.
Nobody can. Cards use power on idle also, and that is not accounted in this 130w.
You should check VDCC voltage, it should be bellow 0.9V. Out of 4 vega 56 cards on one card it stays at 1V while other are bellow 900mV for the same settings (Vega_64_Reg_GPU_0000-1100HBM.reg). It's just silicon lottery I guess. Tried this card alone and get the same result. I can make it go bellow 900mV, when using MorePowerVega64_142_Modded_fix.reg file but then I get about 200H/s less (around 1700) then other 3 cards (1900+).
4GB is not enough to activate HBCC. HBCC is not important, I disabled it. Just reset cards before starting miner.

i'll just be splitting two 1000 watt rosewill PSU for a 7 card 56 rig. 3 and MB on one and 4 on the other. I think this is overkill but, I had trouble on another rig pushing a PSU too hard. I have the 1000 watt now, I could always go to an 850 and 1000 in the future. Thinking about it. Want to see power draw from the wall right now.

No, there is enough for 4 cards.

Look at the photos:

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=120-g2-1300-xr

well, 4 vegas need eight 4-pin connectors.
some vegas have 3 to 4 pin adapter included, some do not (or at least i did not find it).

EVGA 1300 has 4 single 4 pin cords and 2 'double' (4+3pin).

Therefore, either use an adapter (if available) or buy an extender. i checked an extender with single cables, making them essentially a 'double". Works fine (at least on Vega56). Might be too little (one cable) for Vega64.

For some reason, after using ddu, the folders for vega remain though they have just a few lines of generic info.

I can't seem to remove them no matter how much I try. Can I just manually delete them before installing drivers again?

Hope Windows 10 Fall Creator's Update will allow 13 Vegas on an H110 motherboard.  That is going to be sweet.

Whats the point of that really? Its barely stable with 6, can't imagine the pain of having 13 on the same board. Not to mention the type of power supplies with 26 8pins needed to handle all that.

I'm sure stability will get there eventually.  For now I'm planning on 6 or 8 Vegas per rig, with the ability to go up to 13 if and when it can be stable.

Hi Guys,

Which power supply do you use to power 4 Vega cards ? Maybe you use 2 PSU?

Thx
if undervolting done correctly 4 vegas will do fine with 750w hq psu like evga or corsair. each card draws 150w from wall if everything done correctly.

meh. even undervolted you don't want to push the PSU to the limit. And these 150W are a bit imaginery, if u want to run it at 1407 clock.

I'd not use less than 1000W on four. With 750W you are just asking for trouble, not to mention the cable problem you are going to have, as you need to power up 8x 8pins, MB, CPU, 4 risers, SSD and eventually case fans.

Anyone had the "GPU COMPUTE ERROR" problem? Is it too much overclock, or the HBM2 is just too hot? As I noticed one 72C card on that rig ... Could be the memory overclock to 1100 too, but the rig is stable, should not be a memory issue tbh. 50 errors like that over 3600 sent results sounds too much, I've seen 1 every 2-3 days on the other rig.

What does it mean guys? Does it mean my GPU1 not working?

down your temp
73 is very high - set fan min 3800 rpm

I raised it up to 2200rpm. miners are running at 65. i don't like fan noise.  Cheesy

Still a bit high, but if it works without HBM throttling. I keep my cards around 58-60c. Meaning HBM is around 64-70c, since its 8-10c higher than core depending on card. This is achieved with 1950-2200 rpm depending on card. Registry mod is 865mv and 1375mhz on each.

While certainly impressive and great work, what exactly is the benefit of the tent, couldn't you just use the same setup without the tent? Is it for a more efficient air flow? I'm wondering since I thought these tents are mainly used to increase the heat.

Grow tents localize the heat which you can then vent outside.  It is just a better way to manage eat without heating up the entire room.  You can take it a step further and modify them with sound deadening material as well.

That is correct.  I wanted a way to focally control the heat expulsion.  The added benefit was the noise control.

Silly me, here I was thinking you were going to show us a beautiful marijuana garden living amongst your vegas.

I already had 4 Rosewill Lightning 1300s.  On my two most recent rigs, I used hellae's recommended EVGA 1300W supernova Gold PSU.  (IMHO, these are overkill, but likely quite efficient.)

Yes but with the EVGA you can power up only 3 cards no ? 2 Cable/GPU ?

hellae

i have some questions for you or anyone who's familiar with this card

I installed 5 vega 56. flashed them and in the windows registry, instead of seeing just 0000, 0001 to 0005, I see 12 folders 0000, 0001 to 0011.

some of the folders mention rx vega but I didn't check all of them.

I ran DDU twice and i still see 4-5 folders and except for 0000, the other folders contain just 1 line of generic info.

if i still see 12 folders again, Do i still run the reg mod file and edit the target folders for 0001 to 0011?

If you ran DDU for AMD, try also running DDU for Nvidia.  Sounds like you may have had other cards on this motherboard at one time.

You should see one folder for any internal IGPU, and then folders for each Vega.

If most folders have very little information, then it sounds like you have to reinstall the block chain driver.

One suggestion, why don't you try having a solar energy? You can save electricity bills..
