hi :  PSU EVGA 1000 GQ, 80+ GOLD 1000W , can hundle x4 vega 64 ?

Yes, if you undervolt or reduce power target enough.

So that would have been helpfull to know, that you need atleast 900mv or more to be able to increase SOC clocks... I dont want my cards to use more power, since id need to increase fan speed. Im sticking with 1100mhz and 865mv.

That reddit link on the previous page says you might need 950mv to oc SOC.
I'm not sure you need more voltage for soc and hbm overclock. I'm using 900mv (that leads to 875mv in hwinfo64 readings) to keep gpu stable @1408. If I go lower gpu clocks then xmr speed decreasing quite distinctly

you gpu actually run at 1408 ?

because i put in msi -120mv   (i tried more but ring crashed)
power limit -22
it put the clock at 1352 but actually don't matter what clock i put  because it always get up and down and it s run average 1450+

Yours is pretty different from the 1100mhz 905mv version that we're all downloading. I just have no idea how to interpret all the hex.

My cards (both vega 64 and vega 56 flashed with vega64 bios) are running perfectly stable 1408/1150@875mV for a weeks. Clocks aren't floating at all. Power usage ~150watt for Vega56 and ~160watt for Vega64. Speed is 2kh/s for Vega 56 and 2.07kh/s for Vega64. I'm using 23aug drivers and softpowerplay reg mod + overdriveNtool.

Then set P7 state to 1408@900mV and P6 to 1560@900mV with OverdriveNtool. Mem P3 to 1150@900mV

First I connected the vega 56@64, installed the driver, then replaced it with 64, I think it's somehow related. After rebooting hashrate drops to 2000 and that would get 2500 I need to remove the driver, insert the vega 56 and so on

I cannot reproduce ... I swaped rizer cables between my flashed vega56=>vega64aio and native vega64aio. Speed stays the same, 2k for v56 and 2.07k for v64

Also do I *need* an SSD for the virtual memory or will an old school HDD suffice (win10 is installed there already)?

No need of SSD for virtual memory. Just need space for swap file bigger then combined GPU memory of all cards installed in system. No massive swapping occurs.

What exactly does this mean?

By changing the marked values. Stock 6C,B0,01 = 110700
So if you want 1200mhz for example you need to exchange it with C0,D4,01

from here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1633446/preliminary-view-of-amd-vega-bios/570#post_26408383

It's referring to a section of the soft PPT (registry-based PowerPlay Table that many of us are using) that controls the SoC clock. By adjusting the values as mentioned, you can increase the SoC to 1200MHz from the Blockchain driver's hard default of 1107 MHz (which is why you cannot push memory clocks beyond this value), and thus increase those memory clocks beyond 1100-1105.

What driver and which regmod are you using ?
win10 64 Blockchain 17.30.1029
1110 mem clock is not possible on blockchain unless you really know what you are doing  Huh
change limit SoC clocks

Ok. Not a noob user then  Grin

I have been running HBM at as high as 1199mhz as well with the soc overclock but not getting 2500 Tongue

What might change using a tv.... I know the drivers to make a difference between a monitor and actual tv but....

I happen to own the exact same tv but its fcking heavy and dont want start draging it to my rigs at the moment Cheesy

Question for anyone pushing over 1950h/s with the Vega 64s. How stable are your card clocks in Wattman while.mining? Also could bouncing clocks damage the card/reduce life of card. I feel that if the clocks hold steady mining when using standard settings then it should be the same when over/underclock get but this might not be true.

The best settings I've found to keep stable clocks are 1100/1100 core 1025 mem -10% power temp 62 max. Reducing power any more causes bouncing clocks as does increasing mem. No Bois mod cards using 215w each.

On a different point I've found that setting core clocks manually at 1100/1100 or even 1200/1200 let's the cards run much cooler than using the % slider to a similar level.

I tried even 1700/1200 with my liquid vega64, max I've got was 2180h/s
Mem clocked higher than 1150 seems to produce fake hashrate due to compute errors.

I happen to own the exact same tv but its fcking heavy and dont want start draging it to my rigs at the moment Cheesy

that sounds great, but how's the temp without fans to the max? As 4500PRM fan speed is something I definitely not intend do use.

If he is using 1408mhz core clocks, which is the optimal point for underclocking and volting, ~875mv maybe. High tmp with 4500rpm indicated card is in a normal case or otherwise hot, read bad, spot.

Still that soc clock post is 1 month old  Sad All the lost moneros and electroneums Cheesy
