Making a 100× profit on an Altcoins is highly possible but requires a bunch of time, maybe years. And to make that kind of profit you might need to buy the coin at ICO, hold it for a long period of time for the price to go high. And another thing is buying a coin that has future.
The key that has been said is get coins and hold. Especially those who got in several years ago. We will see what it goes to in the next couple of years 
I almost had that profit on doge. I buy doge last two years and I hold it for a year. But sudenly i decided to risk it on bitcoin doubler, Luckily my deposit got scam and if I compute my possible profit based on doge price now, I think my profit is closed to 100x. I have no regret since the price of doge that time is very cheap. 
I read all the time about those "worthless" alts that go from <1 satoshi to 100+ satoshi. That's the only way to make 100X profit... but will anyone buy so many of those coins? To make even 0.1 BTC profit you must sell 100,000 coins at 100 satoshi. Only whales can make that amount of risk, and who will buy it from you once it hits that much anyway?
If you are very patient, you can get x10 from many coin but there always a chance that it can turn a loss of x10
very hard to lose 10x if you enter the market early it's more easy to gain something than lose the same amount as long as you invest wisely and not on everything but 100x is possible only with 1 coin out of 100 or more I get that profit once s year on average

So far the only altcoin who generates 100x profit to there holders is the ETH and BTC since its upsurge is quitely awesome and it creates thousand of $ profit to the people who holds on it. And im Aiming to hold the waves and stratis coin right now and let see if I can earn 100x profit from them at the end of this year.

There's no one can do that, even me. Need more than hard work and patience to make that happen. Your decision about 10% is good plan for altcoin investment, really good strategy. Do that repeatedly and replace more money for higher profit. Don't forget using stop loss and good luck.

Not sure but I think at the moment NEM is among the highest ROI. Back in the days a stake was 0,05 BTC (for some it was free) which equaled to about $25 at that time. Currently that same stake of 2,2500,000 NEM is worth around 360,000. That's a 13,000x return. And I know some people that are still holding strong with great news coming out every day. Who know's maybe we'll see 100,000x soon.
i've been close (maybe 80x). my friend bought $5000 worth of BTC at $4... so that's what, like 600x(+)?

I have never made that much on any coin but best coin so far was INSANE COIN for me that went from 100 sats to 8k sats and now sitting at between 4.5-6.5k sats. That has been the best performing coin and I still hold masternodes there and also day trade it. I think with the roadmap they got it will go up at least another 5-10 times by next year if all goes well. Not had much luck in others except JANUS TOKEN and a few that went up..and I hold small bags of like WAVES and NXT.

Not, the best profit I receive is Bitcoin 300% and ETC 350%, not more than it. I usually take profit with 5-10% when scapling, and when holding maybe 50-100% but not oftenPersonally myself, Never made more than 10%
Luckily i have made some multiplier for my funds on altcoin investment but not that 100x of investment in altcoins,i only made 4x of my funds in altcoins investment the highest in my history

Since in the starting I was buying small small coins at low rate and then placed for the sell at 20% more in this ways in the week I was making much money of 20%+ earnings with my money at yobit .
But in the last month I invested my btc in the dgb at rate 20satoshi but after rich the value of 70 I was looking to sold but a friend told me don't sell it because the new technology will get introduced in this coin and the price will get jump sharply . After this news I just bought the dgb more and hold in last and found that my coin is at 2500+ Satoshi and in this way I made 100 times + earnings .
So I don't think that it is impossible to make any amount of earnings , iean we need only a better stretagy .

One of my friends invested in Litecoin in 2013, when the price of LTC was around 0.0025 BTC. He sold them a year later for 0.03 BTC. His ROI was around 1,200%.
not 100 percent though but more than 10x I guess. i have invested to GOLEM and XSPEC and some few coins when they were just less than 5 cents. i'm a holder of cheap coins that i buy during ICO, you can certainly determine which developer are serious with what they are doing and invest to their tokens. if these tokens will be worth more than $5, i guess i can say i did my time.
