I agree with your observation because it now takes 2 years to get 100x profit.
Because of the very tight competition and the number of spam coins that are getting more and more day.
Maybe some kind of luck.

A 100x profit is a long term hold buy and forget about it investment. A successor to ethereum may bring that. Problem is many are copies and there is not much innovation.

It's in around Feb or march I seen the he prize of ethereum some where around 25$ to 40$ . I almost set to buy because of lots of recommendations finally I left and keep on watching until it reaches 395 every time price goes up I was thinking it may go down soon but dint happen

100x hardly ever happens I think, at least also not to me Undecided

. For me this looks more like a lottery win. But 50-100% are rather possible and happen sometimes. 20% is more usual, exactly.

No.. the maximum I got is around 20% to 25% (and lost all of that in other trades). How can anyone even get 100x profits? Only those who had invested in Ethereum or Ripple many years ago can boast of that sort of returns. Ethereum was trading at around $0.95 in January 2016. It went up to almost $400 per coin and now it is trading at around $280 per coin.

This is hard though i don't think it's impossible. I think the best chance you have to get this much profit would be to gamble in upcoming icos. Though again it's a gamble as you wouldn't know which ico would shoot that high up and usually it's only for a short time before the price goes crashing back as fast as it rose.

There are plenty of examples - ETH, XEM, PIVX and no doubt many more. How many people ended up with hard cash in their pocket is another matter. As for myself I cashed out 1 BTC worth of XEM. It cost me 0.00015 BTC so that's a 6500x return or so.

There might be some people who made 100x profit from investing in altcoin but a few of them are here at bitcointalk or if ever they are here in this forum I'm sure they won't be bragging their profits, especially those who bought altcoins at a lesser value. Only a few also hold on to altcoins for long.

Some people may make massive returns on an alt coin, but if they are not careful they will lose it all as quickly as they gained it.

That being said, absolutely nobody can do this consistently. Making 100x return on anything is almost always 100% luck. It definitely is in the case of crypto.

It is not impossible to make ×100 profit, I can count some coins that have raised ×100 and more, you just need to be patient, altcoin market in a bubble since a few months, most of tokens made good profit for their holders, like GNT, Lisk, Stratis, ICN...

Never made much by trading but by holding I can say I made a nice profit out of what I investws since I was able to create a all business and buy some cards for my mining ventures in about ~2 days. However in gambling, I can do 2x-4x in an event I'm very familiar with, however I don't risk it all since it's still safer to just invest and wait.

Nah I never hold big amounts of altcoins because they're just a shot in the dark. They may be worth nothing after they go 100x too, the huge pump right now is going to crash soon.

Yeah it's not possible to have 100X so much Instantly. May be holding long time is the only way to earn that much. But still 100X seems to be way to far from happening with altcoins. Recently I had opportunity of earning 12X max from CRB coins. The base price was way below few satoshi which went all the way to dollars. That was the only first time I made that much profit but never saw hike of 100X anytime.
