Hi,
For someone who curious where I live on or need more information regarding Malaysia Electicity Charges, you can refer below for Government Subsidy and the appliances as your home usage!

http://www.tnb.com.my/residential/discounts-rebates-and-offers.html

http://www.tnb.com.my/residential/energy-savings-at-home/usage-cost-of-electrical-appliances-at-home.html

These above are the standard residential rates! It is not under commercial rates and yet to deducted with hardware energy savers and some extra work out!

I have experience with commercial usage to deduct almost 200% of electrical cost in a shop from almost MYR 900 usage to nearly MYR300++ usage per month! So it is depends on how you work it out only when you want to fully attached to a business! Especially nothing is impossible in Malaysia, whether you have a heart to work it out or not!

Just for your reference!

Cheers

some things people tend to neglect are logistcs costs/risks and customs risks (outbound and inbound).

it may be virtually free in kuwait or venezula or malaysia etc... but what will it cost to get your rig/machine there and will it get stuck in customs?

these are things that i believe need to be factored into any decision...

Well is it also that cheap if you use a lot of power (like 1-2 GWH)? And is the grid able to deliver stable this amount of elec? (most installation do not support such an high elec drain)

BTW: Malaysia is not cheap at all....

Hi,

I don't know what makes u say btw Malaysia is not cheap at all! Please refer below:-
http://www.tnb.com.my/residential/pricing-and-tariff/tariff-rates.html

This is the normal standard rates for a residential usage in Malaysia! I think indeed commercial rates will have higher charges! So as compare to other countries like above quote saids like Hawaii, Maui, they're paying almost 50 cents per kWh, so it is still consider cheap in Malaysia with standard rates!

Note: This rates does not include hardware energy savers and some back door running! So it is still considered cheap with standard rate comparison with other countries!

Wow, I'm in singapore which have the one of the most electricity cost, $0.25/kW

Hi mate, indeed Singapore is very high rate of electricity cost! Interested to join me in Malaysia here, very cost effective and u also know lah how good our Malaysia - Singapore Custom, kopi money easy settle already to transfer mining rig to Malaysia!

Cheers
Haha. Hmm.. I dont think i want to move it due to the huge rig and a already setup airconditioning. Still of some profit. Want to watch the miner mining. Cheesy

Yeah and it is nice to hear that! But anyway if on a long run, IMO it is better way to shift it to Malaysia although a bit more complicated work to do! You also don't want your hard earned money and most of the money contribute to the electricity, isn't it? Sing Dollar 0.25 kWh is almost MYR of 0.625, almost can get it by 6 times in Malaysia! So IMO long run is better to set it up in Malaysia! I don't think you will mind only to see how it mine, the importance is how your wallet growth with full of coins, am I correct? Lol! Just a suggestion and could round me up if you interested, so we can meet up and share some experience!

Cheers

25cents is in sing dollars so that means 19.7 US cents

firesky where in malaysia are u located?

Hi,
I am located in KL and I don't think it make a difference at the West Malaysia because I think there are no difference between states in electrical charges!

Hi,
As earlier post that inbound and outbound to Malaysia maybe will cause a problem for me to start hosting, but as I do research that actually this matters can be solve instead of two options! If a good shipping company to choose like FeDex, there should be not a problem shipping mining rig to Malaysia! We can refer as below:-

https://smallbusiness.fedex.com/international/country-snapshots/malaysia#C04

So we can make a refer in the Column of Goods Subject to Import Controls!
For mining rigs, the most alike in column of certain apparatus for home use! And it is acceptable for importation on FedEx International Priority Service! So it is a relief for me and advantages to me getting on to work out a more better plan!

Just sharing, hope won't mind!

Hi mate,
Yes and I totally agree with u that what Inbound and Outbound matters really as a big problem! Thus, I am still under planning and consideration not to take this risk for my client and myself! My first option will be direct shipping to Singapore, from Singapore transfer the machinery by hand back to Malaysia! And my second option is, since I am seeking a long term business and cooperation, indeed it is easier if I directly taking a flight to machinery destination, by hand back to Malaysia! This two option is the safest way for myself and my client! Of course there is a minimum hashing rate for me to fly overseas, I won't fly there for BFL 5.5G! Lol!

Hi,
I don't know whether my country in Malaysia here is the lowest. But I think it is a profit calculation that makes me decided to open and start hosting Mining Rig with lower charge among others in US.
As my calculation charges as below in my country,

MYR 0.109 / kWh = USD 0.032
i.e = If a 1200 watts of refrigerator with 24 hour operations = MYR 2.05 = USD 0.61

So maybe I can figure out any country is lower than my place here.

You guys will love this: about 50 cents a kilowatt hour in the US.

Well, Hawaii to be precise. We call stuff like this: "The Paradise Penalty." I ain't crying though, I'll pay that rate any day to live here.

BTW, I offer 2.5% hosting to multiple vetted miners in the US (see my 2nd link, Post 6) . I may also offer access to hosting in the Netherlands or UAE in the Middle East for similar but will need to talk to my co-op member to see if he has spare capacity.

You must be on Maui. It'sn ONLY like 44 cents on ther Big Island. Tongue

Close. I'm on Kauai. We had a cooperative buy out the electrical utility & we were supposed to benefit from lower prices.

That's worked out perfectly, as you can see.
