I don't think it would affect the users too much if Apple were strict with gambling ads. It's going to continue as it is. Mostly, the people who care about gambling the most are the ones who have no time to see ads or something. The reoccurrence or relapse of addiction to gambling is the problem. The ones who went into rehab to stop their addiction to gambling are the ones at risk and making sure that Apple wouldn't let their users from recovery see anything remotely tempting to them that could probably induce a problem.

The Tech giant Apple has become something else recently in the way they take some decisions, last month or two they removed MT4 App from there phones and now they're stopping gambling ads, I see that they have gained name and ground,  have also gotten enough customers , they're just taking decision anytime, anyhow without looking at how it gonna effect people's business, and doesn't care whether they are gonna loose customer or not.

However, I do believe that this affected companies will still strive without Apple and will source out other means of advertising their business and reaching out the targeted customers.

Youtube biggest problem is the comments often contain bad links and commercial posts, not to mention some live broadcasts themselves are scam or phishing operations.   Their slightly iffy adverts are secondary to actual fraudulent videos they allow to mislead and deceive their customer base.     There is no perfect area possible but Apple is probably correct to regulate the advert content because I know the customers themselves would want to control what type of adverts they want to see.  I only disagree with outright bans for legal companies, a customer should be allowed to see anything they wish at their own choice not the corporate censors choice.

Besides that, Apple is already such a big company, if it is losing a little portion of ad revenue it won't be a big thing for them anyway.
This is the most important aspect here and it is the reason why these type of ads actually exist. I mean small companies cannot afford to leave these ads. Like for example most of the new YouTubers do gambling or casino related ads on their channel. But once they gain trust of the subscribers and hit numbers like millions of subscribers, they cannot afford to hamper their image by doing these betting and gambling ads. Same logic applies to companies. Small companies have targets and limited source of revenue. They accepts whatever ads they get and do not think more of their image being affected by the type of company they are promoting. They just need to survive initially. But big companies have diversified sources of income and that is why Apple can afford to make this decision.

We have seen in history that even the slightest bad event for a company has drastically effected it's revenue and stock prices.
If they don't care about their reputation then that would do them more harm than removing these kinds of ads.
It is the brand value now that is giving them more revenue than any other thing and it should be their first priority to care for their reputation.

It appears apple developers are not fans of gambling?

If apple based platforms ban gambling advertisements.

Could apple gain a reputation for having an anti gambling stance in the future. Which might lead to a backlash where casinos boycott apple based products?

I don't remember statistics or revenue numbers being published in response to facebook and other platforms banning cryptocurrency advertisements. Or if there was an actual backlash in those cases where social media platforms lost a significant chunk of revenue as a result of bans.

The gambling industry is different from cryptocurrency advertisements. Gambling is a trillion dollar industry worldwide. It might be large enough for ad bans and lost revenue to affect apples bottom line. Perhaps I'm exaggerating the influence of the gambling industry.

The online gambling industry is not that united to create a boycott and many casino operators understand the stand of the other industry, in fact, if you are an affiliate or a gambling associate they give their affiliates guidelines on how and where to promote their platforms, there are platforms that will bring good results to gambling without giving the bad impressions to their clients, we haven't seen how powerful is the influence of the gambling industry but like porn industry, it cannot advertise on any platform and it also must respect other platforms that ban them.

Apple is adept of the political correctness policy, so it's not a surprise they have a reproval instance regards gambling. Probably they don't want to create polemics with the public opinion, so they simply ban gamblings ads and keep profiting with other kinds of ads. Anyway, it's not the end of the world for gamblers and gambling companies. There are many other and more efficient ways to promote betting services on the internet.
At the end Apple is going to be the one suffering from this policy, because even if gambling still carries a social stigma in some social circles this is slowly changing and now most people do not care, similar to what we see now with tattoos for example, so those which use their service to advertise their casino there will always find another place which wants their business and their money, while Apple will be the one seeing a small reduction on their profits.

If gambling ads weren't allowed on Apple, that wouldn't be a problem because we know that the gambling industry can use a place wherever they want, let alone the big casinos. After all, they can pay the rent for the space. And maybe this will be a decline in revenue that Apple will experience because advertising revenue from the gambling sector may be very large compared to other businesses. So we'll see what happens to Apple's financial statements later so they can find out what effect it has on their earnings.

Gambling advertisements have always had a bad reputation anywhere.
Gambling is seen by many people as a bad thing, often associated with something as bad as alcohol and drugs.
I know that gambling nowadays is a very big source of money and Apple wants to take advantage of it, but I sincerely believe that they don't need that money and could keep their environment, which is already strictly controlled, free of this kind of ads
But we know that it is really just an advertisement and something which isnt that known prohibited and just on what you had mentioned about alcohol then we do see tv advertisements.

Somehow they do really have that kind of disclaimers or warnings which i do see that it is really that sufficient to giving off some reminders. In the case of this company Apple had made out some pause

or making some alterations on where these ads would be placed then they do really know on whats good for their company. They cant really just make out some alterations on which
they would seem that it would be bringing up negative.

It's okay, I don't see any protest but that's a normal reaction for those that are into gambling and as well as a user of Apple products. That's normal and if there's something wrong, it would haven't been called out just like those ads. If it's said that it's a temporary thing, let's just leave it and if they ever change their decisions in the future, we'll see if that has been a firm decision for them and results are good or not.
Maybe it was concerned by apple consumers. Apple in the first place won't mind it appearing since they are surely aware from the beginning that is why those ads are there. So if it is people's request we cannot do something about it.
They have to grant the request of their consumers and that's why it's easy for them to move it. Yeah, no problem on it as it's just about moving and not entirely removing the ad on their platform.

Maybe most of apple's customers are not into gambling and that is just fine, indeed.
Most of them too has an age of the young ones and that's what probably makes them concerned the most and that's a good move for them.

They can change that decision in the future but for now, they're just trying to get away with the heat that has been made by those complainants and that's an okay move for them.
And when the dust settles, they can be back at it again try to adjust things and make those gambling ads appear again depending on the demand that they're getting it with those ads.
that's the importance of reading before making a complaint anywhere even though it has been explained in almost all media that it is not a permanent decision but a temporary decision so there is no need to protest something temporary, I think everyone should respect every decision

Apple understands their customers so maybe a decision was made that might be to make the rules better, I think Apple will have a new policy for this mess so just wait for this to be over and always respect any decision Apple itself because they just want to provide comfort to their customers, hopefully this issue is resolved and hope the OP closes this thread because I think enough we have a discussion on this issue  Wink

I totally see no problem here. To gamble or not is subjective. If you're interested then that's okay, and if not, fine as well. This activity is something we should not recommend to non-gamblers, and let gamblers enjoy gambling. It would be your conscience if you have persuaded someone to gamble, then they become addicted into it. Gambling projects I believe, does not want that to happen. Many of them are building and improving gambling projects either to earn money (which is normal and obvious), and for players to enjoy the platform or place if it is land based.

They can change that decision in the future but for now, they're just trying to get away with the heat that has been made by those complainants and that's an okay move for them.

maybe in this way apple can keep all its users from falling and getting addicted to gambling games even though we all know as OP also said that Gambling is a trillion dollar industry worldwide and I don't think Apple cares about it anyways its not the permanent decision is only temporary maybe apple can filter gambling ads in the future of course with new rules

They are a very rich company with a giant margin on their products, they have to prioritize the needs of their customers over just ambushing them with something they dont want.   Targeted selected optional advertising is totally the way they should go over irritating a valuable customer base.
customer needs is number one and that almost all companies will prioritize that even if they have to lose a small amount of money compared to losing customers, again what we need to know is Apple is not a small company

Apple has its own monopoly so it can do whatever it wants. I actually do not understand why people give such importance to apple devices. Sure, ok, they have some cool features, but I wouldn't want a device that is constantly pulling me to update the software while constantly trying to sell you space for you to have your data. And even worst, Apple has some shady desire to control its user's information, so wouldn't be surprised they also made money out of it
There are many people out there which are very susceptible to effective branding, before Elon we had Steve Jobs which was loved by the media and his followers as if he was an individual above them and they were willing to pay for an overpriced product, at least back then the apple products were very good but now not only you need to pay a lot for those devices but they are in many ways inferior to the products of their direct competitors.

Apple would be having a hard time choosing between an anti-gambling stance and a potential large revenue from gambling ads. For me I am not expecting Apple to implement a blanket ban on gambling ads. I doubt they will be that strict in keeping with their anti-gambling stance that they will fully not allow any ad relating to gambling.

But then it will all boil down to management. A change of management could also mean a change in policies. After all being anti or pro-gambling doesn't represent Apple's image.

they have the resources to not entirely rely on ads about gambling. I guess this is the best move that they can possibly do to for people to not get addicted to online gambling.

The ad filter facility will help the users not to see the ads they don't want. This will also provide convenience for users to explore every page that is there without seeing anything that does not interest them. But if this is implemented, maybe Apple needs to think of other ways to generate more revenue for the company still. But now, with the increasing number of Apple users, Apple should pay more attention to them because it is the users who have helped Apple gain its reputation and grow the company.
