Op, your generosity could be more valuable in this thread-- from my calculations, you have less than 60 smerits left, you're not a merit source, and will eventually burn out on your own. Your intentions may be good, but I believe that too many merit giveaway threads will fertilise the soil for account farms by allowing them to pick merits from multiple source rather than just one.

Second, you are from the Nigeria Local Board, where merit is scarce and there is no Merit source, and your generosity may mean a lot to the lower-ranking members there as well.

I am not against your thread; I am simply thinking outside the box, and you can do whatever you want with your merit. 

You have written well but don't you think your solution is the same as the review that offered by The Sceptical Chymist? There is also another thread where users can submit a topic that they feel is meritable for review?
In my estimation though, the merit sources applications requests show be given speedy replies. I have read more than 3 merits sources requests that is yet to get a response from the administrators. In my local board there have been two requests. I do not know the modalities for acceptance but wishing we see new merit sources soon.

Lately,  majority of the discussion on Meta board as been about the Merit system especially on the low supply of merits with some Reputable members applying for merit sources though Theymos have not accepted anyone or spoken about the merit system for long and we all still await his response.t

While there is a need for a new merit source in order to replace those merit sources who are no longer available and also increase merit allocation of some sources in the LB or maybe accept some LB merit source request, This is not the main issue to be frank I accept that lack of quality post have affected how merit are being distributed. This is the amount of merit distributed monthly since the merit system started in January 2018 till now March 2024 which has 14,303 as at when this post was made.

This shows there are much merits in fact even more merits being un sent since alot of members have rank up and earn more merits therefore increasing their sMerits.

Aside this, I accept that low quality of post have been the main reason why there are lack of distributed merits because when I joined this forum I actually thought the merit system was really unfair for beginners but to be frank  I was wrong but never knew till I went through this Fillippone : Ranking up is possible! 2900 Merits earned in less than 12 months!My 11 Hints! and I Thank God i saw this thread which made me see that some top members of this forum did not find it easy when they joined this forum as they are beginners like us but they actually send their time learning and doing things well.


I`m offering post improvement review though I`m far from being among the top knowledgeable forum members even in regarding post quality since I would also need one but my aim is start this while a more knowledgeable will see this good and continue.

To be frank its important to sometimes go through your post history in order to identify your flaws in becoming a better poster because when I do this, I`m usually ashamed of my post quality and will want to do better.
Though you are expected to continue learning because only through this you can become more knowledgeable to become better.
