how does the bot handle the situation when a trade could not be filled (due to other bots competing for the same pair prices)?
If there is unfilled amount the remaining (XMR or ETH) is added to the bank.Bank Monitor keeps the average bought price and amount. That amount is used in the next arbitrage events if it will be profitable, also every 45 seconds bank monitor checks the current BTC_XMR and BTC_ETH  sell price and if it will be profitable sell the bank amounts.

whats the average amount of trades your bot makes per day?

I cant give you such number. It depends on what prices you scan, what volume you are looking for, what trend settings you are using, whats the direction of the trend and so on.

What is your experience with the default settings?

Which trend settings do you recommend for a newbie?

Which price point settings do you recomment?

Default settings are a good starting point. But you need to watch your logs and adapt to the market conditions.
In the default config trend is enabled and it is set with the recommended values.

As I explained to you multiple times its normal to have some open orders left if you use the highest sell price. If you use a reasonable value at pair 3 with a reasonable trend monitor settings you will not run in such scenarios.I dont have any open order stuck for the last 3 days.So its not a bot's fault Wink.

hmm, i always wondered what happens when multiple instances of bots like these are moving on the same triangle at the same time.  I guess whoever's is the quickest comes out on top.  So out of that 10-15% would you still be up in profit if you had closed out those orders straight away while taking a small loss?  If this happened overnight and one of the currencies pairs where you were stuck took a nosedive you'd be in serious trouble.

Thanks for the heads-up.  In your experience how often does this happen?
Just looked on trades. About 10%-15% out of all orders are delayed with selling or were sold manually in the morning/evening.
By delay I mean - open orders that were open more then few sec (usually 5-30min).

For new customers information:
Bot doesn't always close orders. If the price moved while it was opening/closing orders, your sell/buy order will be there after X hours, until the market goes up to the price of order. Usually you'll have to monitor hanging orders or u'll run into loss after manually closing (moving) order, if you don't wait for market going up.

what exactly does "frozen" mean?

Frozen is one of the water's states.  Cheesy
Now serious: Sometimes markets got frozen for a specific time frame. If some of the markets involved in the arbitrage is with state frozen, the event will be skipped.

Where is the best location to rent a vps for polo api? Thanks!

Most VPS providers has a looking glass. You can check which location will be best for your use.

This was not meant in a way - take me by the hand and give me all your settings kind of question - more like are there some things I need to make sure are setup correctly before I start?
Or is there an explanation on what each setting does or what this might result in?
You cant screw the settings and force the bot to start an unprofitable arbitrage.Trade calls will be triggered only if the end balance is > than start balance.
All options are explained in this topic, but I still havent grouped them in one place.

Last but not least I have a windows server and vultr.com $5 per month linux machines - both are quick and should be fast enough I guess.
Does the bot come with install instructions for both? I guess windows is fine but do you provide a copy and paste installation guide or quick run down for Linux?
Vultr is great, but keep in mind that if you use a windows server you will need more powerful machine.Vultr has a looking glass so you can check which location is with best ping to polo and host your vps there.
Installation is not needed. You just need to be sure that you have .NET Framework or mono-devel.

Oh and on the instapay page the form asks for an API key - is that the API key we get from Poloniex with disabled withdraw setting?
Correct.Provide the api key that you are going to use.

Hi there
just stumbled upon your bot.
I am very interested but have two questions:

1. What is needed in terms of super fast VPSes? What do you recommend - Linux over Windows or the other way around?
2. How difficult is it to set it up on the VPS and do you give some hints or tips for best practice settings (maybe two options - more risky and less risky)?

Thanks in advance.

best regards
morpheus

Hello.

1.IMO ping lower than 3ms is recommended. Its up to you what OS you will choose, ARBI works both on Linux/Windows.
2.There is nothing to setup (on the bot side).Just install .NET Framework(Windows) or mono-devel(Linux) and start the bot.About the vps setup, you should know how to setup your machine by yourself, if you dont know how to do this my advice is to learn that first
About the settings...I dont like this model (everybody just repeating like zombies "whats your settings?"... "whats the best settings?).There isnt such things as "best settings".Start from the default and see how they fit your needs and change whats needed.

Few questions

I pinged to poloniex and have an average ping of <14ms is this workable?

Does this bot only work on poloniex ?

Is there any documentation on how the bot (parameters) work?
