I think as long as it's not illegal, they are allowed to advertise in CMC as long as they pay.

Just like in the forum, though some businesses has a bad reputation but they are still allowed to be advertise in the forum.

We are still the one who will decide for that, with proper research we will know the project, and not all project that are legit won't scam us, let's put that in our mind so we will know the risk.

We often see coinmarketcap has lots of ads like advertisements that say give ETH bonuses and so on. Because now Coinmarketcap is owned by CZ, do they research that project or only accept money without doing research?
I'm certain its all about the money, projects can use coinmarketcap to create awareness faster than using any other means, we know how popular coinmarketcap is to crypto space isn't it? I doubt if binance team will care about reputation on this

Some will be legit and some won't, you still have to do research before investing, any team or even scammers can afford to put a banner on coinmarketcap, not that costly as listing on small exchanges but be careful

few years ago when bitcoin and cryptocurrency price not dumped yet, some people believe projects that have ads in coinmarketcap will get success. there are many projects set their ads in facebook and coinmarketcap and they get good result. but today , we should not believe on it again , we must research to find this project have good future or not.

It is just advertisements, so I still wouldn't trust it just because it is being shown in coinmarketcap.

Because now Coinmarketcap is owned by CZ, do they research that project or only accept money without doing research?
We will see, but remember that CZ has investments millions of money here, so he will definitely accepts projects wanting to advertise on their platform. So there is still that risk, that they can't filter out scam projects and could advertisement them inadvertently. We still need to look at every project that you are going to invest.

Probably they are doing research. Plus if the company will pay ads I dont think they will refuse to accep those projects. Having Binance to manage coinmarketcap, they will require a strict requirements for their advertisement. Just like their IEO, they would not add any cheap or possible scam projects on their new acquired platform.

I don't think that Coinmarketcap will look into projects before displaying their banners, this isn't binance exchange, just because binance took over coinmarketcap doesn't mean they will do the same thing they always do with IEO projects before listing on their exchange with crypto advertisment

They can impose their policies because majority already knows that Binance is the owner of Coinmarketcap now if coinmarketcap losses it's reputation, it will have an impact also on Binance, they should do screening on this or they should have a disclaimer and people should see that disclaimer prominently on the Coinmarketcap page.

Years ago CMC have been called out by crypto community for showing ads that eventually turn out to be scam or blatantly scam in the beginning. But they refuse to take actions on it and I remember that there was even a call to boycott them.

However, since CZ has taken over, I don't see any chances though, it is better to always do your research and not just believed everything you see not just in CMC but all over the internet in relation to our crypto investments.

Are this ads custom or personal deal by coinmarketcap or ads from google advertisement service? If the later one, they have no control over the ads, no matter who is the owner now. Google ads are not monitored heavily, as a result advertisers can promote HYIP websites too since it falls in the same category in terms of advertising.

I think anyone can advertise on coinmarketcap. So the ads that appear on coinmarketcap do not signify that coins are legit that could be bad coins.

You are on your own if you think that all ads on coinmarketcap can be trusted, don't expect coinmarketcap team to do the job of verification for you, anyone can afford the banner payment on coinmarketcap, just be careful, even scammers can get their banners on there

No, not all of the ads that you can see there is legitimate so don't just trust any ads that popup in that website. Its paid ads and that how coinmarketcap earn from visitors of the website there is also legitimate but not all because CMC don't review any ads that you can see there.

Obviously cannot be. Please have a look at their disclaimer policies:

now Coinmarketcap is owned by CZ, do they research that project or only accept money without doing research?
They will do research on the projects they do IEO or direct listing into regular and DEX exchanges but definitely will skip that part of showing advertisements. Even Google do displays potential scam things because it is individual's responsibility to take care against scamming/hacking attempts.

But, Theymos will not entertain scammy things for advertising in this forum. I remember one gambling house was rejected just for the reason of shady behaviors.

If this is an explicit advertisement for a Ponzi scheme, then I think the site will refuse to place it. But most scams are detected after someone complains that they lost money there. Therefore, it is easier to write a disclaimer than to carefully study the project before posting it.

Coinmarketcap allows ads on their websites, there is nothing illegal about it, the project team pays coinmarketcap to get their projects displaying on the website with the hope that it attracts many investors since coinmarketcap is a big one in crypto space but still don't rely on any project, do research first and find yourself genuine reasons to invest in any project

Possible ETH bonuses with their deposit? Is it like the deposit bonuses in gambling sites? I think there's nothing wrong with that, though.

In this link, there's no indication with regards to screening or something. https://coinmarketcap.com/advertising/

I believe that in every advertisement, it's still getting analyzed first before allowing the ad on the website. In their call-to-action button, it's for "Contact Us," so you will get interviewed by customer service or someone in charge of advertisements for sure. For sure, they won't be allowing something distrustful or scam on their website, lol.

Publishers are not responsible for advertisers, they only pay to list their ad on a Coinmarketcap website. They do not pay for listing as a product/service on the website. They do not guarantee it, they do not sell it or resell it. The difference would be if Binance exchange list a scam IEO...  Wink

You can't invest on a project just because coinmarketcap is advertising them on their websites, I've seen those ads several times but haven't follow any projects displayed on the website, how is this safe anyway? It has nothing to do with the utility of the project, you need to do your own diggings

They accept whichever is the best for their spaces. A certain page is already there tackling the disclaimer for the advertisements that they show on their banners.
What ads you've seen you are about to invest in?

I don't know if coinmarketcap has adsense, let's say they have, the ads that pop up are not controlled by them. Recently, I am seeing CZ tweeted about fake ads about binance displayed on youtube which is alarming, someone could be fool by that, So basically any ads now are not trusted even google, youtube has fake ads, I guess google only care for the money they don't verify first they are waiting for reports.
