Its true that the altcoin market has taken a rather large beating, but it's still relatively early days in the crypto world. Most the altcoins don;t even have a working product let alone much more than a marketing team. There's still plenty of room for growth in that market and we should see more money gradually enter.

yeah they're dead, as dead as a 100 billion market is

They are the zombies group. LOL. They are so fond of spreading news regarding death. The altcoins are dead. Yeah, you are right, as dead as a 100 Billion market in US dollars. Dead as many times as Bitcoin. Dead as the $8,000 that Bitcoin has reached. The altcoins are as dead as that. Dead as Ethereum's $31 Billion market cap or Monero's 1.9 plus US dollar Billion market cap. Or Ripple's $8 plus Billion market cap.

Yes most of them are dead and I think it is normal. It is obvious that most altcoins are bubble and they have collapsed. I have also have some altcoins but I don't trust them.  Grin

no altcoins arent dead and they are not bubble either , infact as you see most of them now are starting to recover again even if bitcoin is still rising. you know it is just normal for any coins (crypto or fiats) to increase or decrease because that is thier nature and also the demand and supply is one of the reason why they are always fluctuating.

Who said money will flow into altcoins after hardfork? You should slap that guys face, clearly he has no idea.
Altcoins are in bear market since August, don't you notice that? Even if they cover USD value they are losing against BTC because of the BTC rally.
It was the general consensus in almost every forum and article that the main driver in the recent bulltrend was to obtain free fork coins.

I don't see hard forks or soft forks as the vital things affecting the future of altcoins.

Altcoins need to stay alive with their roadmaps and products. Everything is not the bitcoin actions or market actions. They should achieve this first for a stable altcoin market.

Pretty sure they all seem fine.
The coins are much stronger now that the whole thing has cancelled. Bitcoin Cash received a pump not that long ago.

that's true, but this confirms that one should not trust forums cause they are full of clueless or self-interested people. BTC rally has been driven by mainstream attention and especially adoption in new financial circles. as mainstream and institutional investors come in, they go for what's known: BTC. there will be BTC major correction and trickle down effects eventually, but hard to predict when. until then, alts' trend against BTC will be mainly bearish.

The 2x fork is over and not a drop of money has come in to altcoins, the market is dead.

I dont think you can declare it dead right away. Perhaps it is a bit of a bear market at the moment, perhaps people dont want to invest into alt coins given all the forks and blood baths that keep happening. I say let all the

markets calm down for a couple of weeks and then see where the direction is trending. You would literally think the market is bear one day and bull the next day if you went off one day sentiments, this isnt correct way to go

Incorrect. Dash and XMR got pumped to the moon but now we're seeing the dump. Just normal market activity here and nothing to worry about. Other altcoins are just resting and pretty much going sideways, this is a great signal to buy.

Altcoin markets are definitely not dead. It's just that bitcoin is attracting a lot more atetntion right now.

When BTC stops pumping like today, altcoins will go up.

Not entirely agree with your statement. Alt coin is not dead, probably few of them are. Daily volume wasn't dead at all. There are still ongoing progress. Once the fork is done then alt coin will be back for business. Just my 2 cent as there are few serious coins that have my faith on them.
ah sure, the fork... what fork?

Some of them are dead for sure, some will recover.

But I agree, we have never seen such a long correction and bearish atmosphere. I'm pretty conviced all these non sense forks where they print money out of thin air made people loose faith in cryptocurrencies.

Hope the market wakes up again (August was awesome).

Much of that is in bitcoin forks. Its expanded in the amount of coins but no growth in any of them.

Make it 80 then, it's still a huge amount of money... a lot of these coins are growing steadily in price and acceptance; there are 90 coins +50 Millions... I'd not call that dead.
Yes, of course we can't say altcoins are dead. They dropped a lot during September but some are now very close to full recovery. Iota is $0.7, Neo is $37.. I guess altcoins are not doing as good as bitcoin is but they are still alive and their marketcap is huge. More and more of new projects appear, some of them have rather important ideas behind them. What's more, when the prices are low, it's great time for investors and altcoins. Eventually these huge price drops might turn out in great profit and we'll remember these times as ones when it was easy to get rich.

Altcoins haven't died.  The market is currently consolidating towards the top and the mass amount of coins being released seem to be spreading the higher risk speculative traders across a large portion of them.  You can see this because large caps have 6 coins making up 84% of the market and Mid caps have 15 coins making up 13% shows people are moving their investments into a smaller group of coins.  That leaves the small and micro caps coins that only make up less than 3% of the total market.
