there are not, cars are one of the many industries using oil. In the end of the day, we will all die if we don't stop burning fossil fuels
I think that in the long run they are going to be bad for the oil industry because I think that more people are going to go over to electric cars.

When we run out of oil(whuich I think will never happen) maybe something new will be created instead of electric cars. People might want to go back to horse carriages, who knows?

That's what I had in mind when approving the idea of alternative energy sources, electric vehicles and the rejection of the internal combustion engine. Soon vremyani really on the ground will begin shortage of oil and gas. There is more to develop new oil and gas fields. Thereby killing the environment. Either you have to abandon or reduce the use of gas and oil. Electric cars are stupid. Limited range. Stopping to recharge is time consuming. More expensive.

but there is a very improvement to the electric cars which will make it not stupid, and that is the solar electric cars, with that we will not need to stop our cars if we need to recharge but it will be recharged automatically with solar and so we will get a free fuel for our cars.

I guess so. If the demand for electric cars continue to grows then it will affect the oil industry. But It will not be soon since electric cars I guess is much expensive compared to automobile that uses gasoline or diesel for fuel. But if you would consider to save more, then electric cars are the ideal cars to use.

Yup i think this will depend on how electric cars and heavy vehicle will perform against vehicles that runs using petrol products Its all upto price cost and comparison among both. But for me if they can perfect elecric vehicles . it will not only threaten oil industry it will also help lessen pollution.

To all those saying electric cars are bad for the oil industries, NO YOU are WRONG! Oil industries will profit with the rise of electric cars. Yes! Since they will be saving a lot of electricity, machines and labour on petrol and natural gases and can invest those in actual edible oil and household oil. The price they get for petrol and diesel, its transport, its maintenance, the losses incurred is a lot compared to the same money if invested in edible Oil. The price of oil is almost 1.5x of petrol and 2x of diesel. S, yes they will profit. They can't just stop producing Petroleum products only for other companies to raise the price, so they are unable to move forward, but with EC, they can!
Electric cars for sure are bad for the oil industry but they are very good for our own pockets. I spend at least 250 Euro of gasoline a month just for going to work and turning back home. In this 250 Euro is not added my other movements which I move with my family and relatives. 250 Euro is worth almost 0.40 bitcoin and I would love to have this amount added to my wallets every month just because of electric cars. I believe in ten years from now electric cars will be the main way of transportation. Some Chinese companies and Hyundai have already produced electric buses. In Goteborg they are trying to add electric buses almost in the entire city. Electric cars and vehicles are good for our own pockets.

In the Long run we are all dead. I don't believe that our Generations will actually witness the end of the oil era.
Just look at the shale gas industry which developed over the last 10 years. As Technology advances there will always be new ways to extract oil from this world. Only time will tell.

Electric cars are surely bad for oil industry but it is beneficial for our environment. And environment is what we all need. People may leave their cars but they can't leave breathing.

I think electric cars are not bad for the oil industry. this may cutbuy pressure from automobile but the demand for electricity will be much more and as we know oil are also used to power up plants. So the demand will simply go somewhere else where supply is needed. That is my opinion regarding this matter.

Nope, in developing countries, if you will introduce electric cars then still there will be gasoline used to make electricity and no engine is 100% efficient, so very less amount of electricity will be produced by the consumption of more amount of fuels. So it will still not be a problem for gasoling industries.So. Electric cars are gaining in popularity, therefore the popularity of gasoline will be going down. Won't the price go down, leaving the oil industry in trouble?
But in case of developed countries where they use nuclear energy, this scenario will be completely different.
