i doubt that as there are a lot of people who still use fuel powered cars as they cant afford electric ones

Electric motors are 90% efficient. Gasoline motors are 40% efficient. This means that for a distance e.g. 10 km, EV cars consume less energy.
It is not matter of electrical efficiency. I feel like we don't need to discuss pros and cons of electric and standard engines.
The thing is we don't have infrastructure to support electric cars yet. But the most crucial is tradition -
people are so used to gasoline that we need another 20 or more years to change their mindset about electric cars.

In XEM we trust
Yes electric cars are bad for the oil industry, but it's inevitable that that's the future where we're headed. Most of the world would benefit from using a electric powered vehicle, especially the environment. However the oil companies are moving big money to make sure that that doesn't happen, but as a society I feel that you can't stop the electric vehicle train.

Electric cars are not more popular and not more spread only because of oil industry. They could be much cheaper and they are enviroment friendly but the influence of oil industry is at the moment to strong for the massive production of elecric cars.

Yes, electric cars are bad for oil industry.
But they are good for environment.
Even if oil industry will shut down ,then new industries could set up in some other field but you can not make a new environment.

Not actually, but in future, since there's too much oil so the price won't spike, yes, it will be, and I'm pretty sure that the big oil companies will try to do all they can to stop this progession.

Of course it is bad for the oil industry because without cars that use the gasoline that comes from oil , what would we have use for it then? Natural gas runs almost everything these days, atleast in developed countries.
I think even Brazil has moved from gasoline from the oil industry and now use ethanol made from corn.

We are changing the way we act, think and react the wheather is our friend we must take advantage of it,renew energy and electric cars will be the way  to the future, but now its an expensive technology .Why the companies of energy doesnt invest at wind or solar energy?Did you thinked about it ,there are giant companies making pressure to dont invest at those new energy resorces.

Electric vehicles will affect the oil industry so bad with no doubt. But oil in un renewable energy so people have to search for the alternative and improve it to be ready when oil go out.

So. Electric cars are gaining in popularity, therefore the popularity of gasoline will be going down. Won't the price go down, leaving the oil industry in trouble?
yes i think so,and maybe oil price will gong down because this, but i think it wont happen in nearly years, some countries still not use electric car,and i also think conventional car will never lost their lover, oil will always have big market.

By the way oil need not only for cars so it's not a big influance.

This is partly right. Of course, oil is used for nearly all products we use in our daily life, especially for all kinds of plastic, cosmetics and even in some food stuff. But nevertheless, oil is mostly consumed to fuel vehicles.

Only a small percentage of oil is used in the cosmetics industry. So oil is much dependent on the automotive industry.

Well we need to change,we had done too many damage to the EARTH,the same way as wind and solar energy are being used.Sure oil industry will start to loose against these energys ,but well a lot things must be done,as the recharges places the price... should be lower or the same, knowing you are in a green car.

the problem with those electronic cars for now is that in some places, to recharge the battery you need to pay an amount that is not cheap at all probably much higher than gasoline per km

Fine but what if it is 35% efficient to turn what ever that energy was before it was electricity into electricity in the first place?  There aren't enough damns and nuke plants to give us all of electricity in our homes.  So what we cannot produce with this we may get from fossil fuels.  Trade in gasoline powered cars for electric ones and you will centralize this conversion.   These are other things to consider.  Including these arguments.  There could be more nuke plants, and more solar panels.  There would be less need for gasoline tanker trucks.  The energy is instead transfered over wires rather than by tanker trucks.

It means a centralization of conversion of fossil fuel into energy.  Rather than millions of gasoline powered vehicles, some of the same fossil fuel (perhaps more of it) would have to go into generators that produce electricity for the electric cars.  We convert energy more times this way, though from fossil to motion, motion to electricity and electricity to motion again.  The way cars work today, fossil fuels is converted into motion for the most part, with some going to an alternator to charge a 12 V battery.  Each time energy is converted there is a loss due to inefficiency.  It would not necessarily require less fossil fuel.

There are related issues with public transport.  Suddenly people are unable to get to work because the subway workers go on strike.  One should never rely on trains, subways or buses for getting to work.

of course that it is very bad for them, electric cars won't use oil, so price of oil will fall down, it falls down even now but more electric cars we will have and use, price of oil will fall more and more, because nobody will need it at all
