And most of the peoples prefer hybrid vehicles ( electrical and oil) than hybrid alone. So oil industries still having its value.

hybrid vehicle is complicated and expensive, if there is no problems with charging stations, no one will pay for benzin, diesel, bio ethanol or Metan/GPL.

The cost of trip on batteries win at all them, electric motor can run 1.000.000. km with no damage.
Batteries are easy to change and are secure in use, and producing no smog in the cities.
Many cities in EU are giving total ban on benzin-diesel vehicles in some days or weeks due to smog.

In this situation, Metan, GPL or Electric vehicle is a solution for ride.

IMO, electrical cars will not affect much to oil industries. As we have more type of vehicles.

Well i believe the electric cars may affect oil industry only after around 25 years or more, but even when they start to colapse, oil companies will try harder to stop that market to grow and become stronger.

I do not think they are bad for the future and the oil industry because the factories that are making such cars still need oil for it so that its the first reason why its not bad.
The second reason is that common parts still need oil for somethings even a electric need some oil for some parts.

If electric cars goes global and accepted in every country, yes, it will affect the oil industry. Maybe the oil's price will decrease depend by how many people who use electric cars.
well they are accepted in all countries only some people dont like them or dont have enough money for buying it

it would be bad if everyone starts using it but right now theres no bigger threat for oil industry in my opinion

Title.

So. Electric cars are gaining in popularity, therefore the popularity of gasoline will be going down. Won't the price go down, leaving the oil industry in trouble?

The oil industry will loose out probably around 50% of it's overall revenue, which may or may not be devastating depending on what their sustenance strategy is

One 42-gallon barrel of oil creates 19.4 gallons of petroleum. The rest, over half, is used to make a whole host of other things like; antihistamines, bicycle tires, insect repellent, shower curtains, paint, fertilizers etc

Electric cars won't bring about the "death" of the oil industry, but it will cause it to lose out on some percentage points of revenue as more and more drivers gradually begin to abandon their internal combustion engines in favor of some electric alternative

Most of the oils are used in the petrochemical industry. But the fuel usage will affect the balance of the supply.

I tried doing some research to find out what percentage of oil is used in cars/ transportation and what percentage is used in the industry (including petrochemicals). The image below is dated, but it gives you an idea.

with this survey prove that transport or car at most that use oil. This is clear if the car eletric present and made mass. of course the oil companies would collapse or bankruptcy so that they will be closed?
is it possible to happen?

Transport is not just cars, it includes ships, planes, trains etc.

At this point in time electric cars are not really hurting the oil industry. There are still far more cars that run on gasoline of diesel.
But electric are getting more popular so it can hurt the oil industry in the future.

i think it's bad only for oil industries.
because we live in modern era, everyone wants the economical and environmentally friendly. so I think if it was just a bad impact on the oil companies, it's okay. and if it is environmentally friendly, we all get the benefits  Grin Grin
nope I think the loss is not just oil companies you know the Middle East and Arab countries. highly dependent on their oil income when oil prices fell some time ago. their country in distress even if oil prices continue to decline their country could bankrupt
what if oil or gasoline unused ? certain middle eastern countries will be poor because of that effect

Prices are down, just depends what part of the world you live in to gasoline go down. In the US a gallon is 1.50 USD when it used to be around 3.00 USD not that long ago. In mexico gasoline prices have gone up. So depends. Electric cars are also pretty pricey and high maintenance. If you have the money it will benefit you, but not immediately.

Believe one thing that industry isnt ready to start and expand as gas station companies wont let that happen, they need to keep exploring till no more fuel,i believe its time already to advance to the future and green energy its already the time to start and make mass production, but those giant companies wont let the market change soo easy.

If there is an alternative which offers a compelling reason for change, oil & gas companies won't be able to stop it. Think of this - have banks with all their financial muscle and lobbying power been able to stop Bitcoin? Similarly, if we find the right alternative energy source, oil companies will not be able to do anything about it.

Yes it is, if all the cars where electric then theres no point to pump and pump oil, cause it will be useless,  and the price oil will become deeper and deeper until it reached 1$
Cars only consume a small part of the oil produced. Think about plastics, aviation and shipping for example. And of course electricity still has to be generated, and oil can be used for that too.

Oil has different uses and not just only for cars so electric cars doesnt really affect that much even if there are mass produce.
