Altcoins doesn't include only IEOs, ICOs and projects. There are also other well known and well established altcoins. Try looking into it. All those altcoins I am talking about does have some value and is used by everyone. So investing for a long term on these altcoins is actually a really good choice.
And yeah, its a waste of time looking at those new projects. Most of them are just scam.

Before joining in any project or choosing altcoins we should make own research, it is so important in my view. But no doubt sometimes researching takes really a bit a long time and can be called wasting-time. But it is absolutely worth l mean without making any research it is really risked joining project or maybe invest. We can not trust anyone about invests, even though wasting-time we have to make it.

when you're ready to hodl for a long time. It is better you do all that research on trading TA wise for btc & eth than any other altcoin whatsoever.
For the bitcoin part, I agree, but for ether, I don't agree, we can debate this issue.

A little insight for you, xrp is more feasible for long-term investment compared to the ether, because there are so many xrp partners, you can see it at https://ripple.com/customers, try to compare it with ether which is a coin supported by the community, we already understand that company support is better than community support, you can disagree with my statement, now I ask, what are the factors that make ether worthy of being chosen as a long-term investment?

I was once a long term holder but now I have a different mindset, please learn to take profits when they are available, that's the best way to earn and increase the quantities of your coins

This is just the best of words i preach and love to hear.
As a trader, you must always keep your emotions aside, and ensure that you take your profits once the opportunity show.

In trading, there are several opportunities to take profit, and you cannot allow emotions at all.
Continue to do your own research
While we think of the profit that we make or will make, we should also think of the possibility of losing. If we already have this in mind, we will know when to stop-loss, which is very important. While trading, there are times that there will be a general fall in the market and sometimes it might affect just the coin that is being traded. Whichever of the two, it will help you to know which strategy to use in gaining back your money and perhaps make profit.
If a coin is not profitable, that does not mean that others will not. You can switch.

I love to trade crypto & hold it for future profit

Research is mandatory part if you want to enter/join any project or business firstly you should research on that project before join or invest in it. otherwise, you may loss your money or time.

But if you have free time like now most of places are lock-down thou you can try few new project who offering just promote them for reward. Join them and get few bucks in your pocket wisely.

Thank you

Ethereum could be an interesting altcoin for long-term investment, finally they develop the long-awaited Ethereum 2.0 update, finally we see who will dominate the market with smart-contracts.
if you buy ethereum for a long-term investment I think it will provide a very high risk because the price of ethereum can collapse immediately, but it doesn't hurt if you dare to try it might be able to get a lot of profit from ethereum.
That's only your opinion but when it's too risky to buy it as our long term investment and what about those coins who placed below ethereum in term of market capitalization? is that mean if those coins are not even really worth to be buy by everyone here?

I wouldn't agree on the long-term investment with altcoins reason be that, many of  these altcoins aren't good for long-term investment because of their early dumping from hunters or investors like your type. I have been holding some of my altcoins from 2018 and the prices had started going down to zero which is painful to me seeing my investment going down to zero. I will advise anyone to be more careful while making investment decision on altcoins especially this era of scammers taking over the cryptocurrency business. Most project dumped their token on investors.

Surely, it's only wise to make complete findings and research about any investment venture you wish to undertake. Investment in crypto altcoins in no different. You need to thoroughly research on the foundation of the project, the team involved, the partnerships and above all the genuine nature of the project and the solutions it offers. If you can get concrete answers to some of these questions surrounding your research, it will form a basis for your investments. You can't just go about investing haphazardly on just about any project. If you do this, you will be exposing yourself to immense risks.

It's not a waste of time if you like it. Some people will find the most trivial things entertaining so if you like to look for that one altcoin that's really worth it be my guest.

Long term investing in altcoins is very risky because many projects get abandoned by their teams and don't receive updates. For small coins with low market cap it's like a death sentence. Some other projects are centralized like XRP and those also can disappear if the company faces bankruptcy or dissolvement.

You’re right in a way. But the main reason why you should do research is to get to know about the team that are in charge of the project.

If the team are a good, you will be sure that your money is in safe hands and you’re not going to lose all if the price should fall. Imagine that you didn’t do any research and invest in the hands of scammers, that would be the worst case because you’re going to lose all your money and there would be nothing left for you to take when they exit the market. So, doing your research is very important , just do whatever you know it’s going help you, it’s very important.
I saw so many good teams that did terrible projects. I saw experienced teams just losing all their money. I also saw how some CEOs with good cryptocurrency experience just ran away with all money. Team does not guarantee success

It is true i think doing that to new altcoins is such wasting of time. The risk for losing money is high and no guarantee that project will run smoothly. I think the safest ways is invest on bitcoin or etheruem. You can earns profit from there.

That most altcoins are short term does not mean you should not do your research. Inasmuch as you have interest in altcoins and you want to invest in them, it will be necessary for you to do research, because that will help you to know when to buy and when to sell. Not only that, but there are also altcoins that are being peddled by scammers, so, your research will help to keep you safe from them to an extent...

... and if you must invest in a new one, constant follow up, that is, regular update through research will be necessary until you decide not to buy, sell, trade or invest in it again.

Yes research a good step for your invest
Even if those projects like adding IEO in Binance launchpad then many investors like to happy without research. But yes our goal always follow real project so we can't take invest a project without more research their roadmap.

The only two surest way to make income from crypto nowadays is
1. Binance IEO launchpad
Invest in any binance IEO projects and make 4x-8x from the project once trading starts, it always works
2. Bitcoin
Can't deny this, Bitcoin is still the best coin to invest all your money on, risky but safer than the rest, in bitcoin invest timing is all you need

of course yes. if your goal is to invest using crypto, then do more detailed research about the coins you want to invest. my advice prioritize bitcoin investment at least secure your money. and some of the top altcoins that have been listed in the top 10 CMCs. and remember that the ups and downs of coin prices are normal, you need to pay attention to the market situation and monitor your investment all the time.

It is true, research is just an initial step for you to gauge if a project has a potential or not. Once the project gathered enough funds for project developent, it all depends on the whole team how will they maximize the fund and how will develop the platform/product as well as marketing which will determine the growth in the long-run.
Can't say much against this position, but I have one particular thing - no one actually knows if dev team of partially successful altcoin will spend their income wisely or waste it.
Thus being said you can't know for sure if an alt will dump eventually, so if you believe in one altcoin you can risk your funds and hodl on it

Research before investing in alternative currencies is important and you should ask questions about the currency project and you will find there are a lot of cryptocurrencies available that have potential use cases in the future and these are considered the best for investment.
