You can only complaint about not getting enough merit if you deserve it, so if you deserve it then dare people to check your posts or submit to threads that provide merits, it's very challenging creating a post like this because you expose yourself to scrutinize of your posts it can backfire or you will get what you're looking for.
So my advice to others who will create a thread like this, be sure you deserve it, or you will get what you don't like to deserve and that is a backlash.  Cheesy

Op, I cannot categorically say that your thread is about merit begging. This is a tactic to send the eyes of concerned merit sources to your profile. If your quality is high, you would definitely recieve good number of merits after this post. But if your quality is below standard, this kind of post my do more harm than good to you.

I will refer back to Wiwo's comment about staying silent and just doing your best without all of this blibber-blabber.

I do not think that staying silent would help Op. The merit system here demands that you are exceptional before merits would run to you. But if you are just good, you have an extra work to do by announcing yourself or your posts. The ways to do it is what Op has done, or by sending you pm on request, or by applying to other merit threads.

I think the underlying essence of this post/thread ball down to the same thing merit begging, since you did not add anything meaningful to this content and I see it as unnecessary, you can still learn and adjust your posting habits in silence without creating a thread to narrates your story.
Dead silence, except  of course for whatever constructive posts OP is trying to make in order to rank up.  I'm not sure if I see this as a merit-begging thread or not (though I've been awake going on 56.5 hours now, and the input from my eyes sometimes gets scrambled on its way to my brain and back to the keyboard), but the observation that other members getting more merits than he does, ostensibly with the same post quality, strikes me as a bit juvenile.

I asked what they did to make it so easy for them to get it.
I had to skip to the second page of this thread to see if you'd posted anything about what those members told you, but I guess that's going to remain a mystery, though if any of them told you you can merit yourself without employing an alt account, they're full of shit.

2. Merit and sMerit functions.

3. Mastery of expertise.

4. Be self aware.
OK, now we're definitely in merit-grabbing territory when those silly lists get busted out.  I will refer back to Wiwo's comment about staying silent and just doing your best without all of this blibber-blabber.

Thank you for everything.
I want to say that I am not frustrated with myself. It only represents the thoughts that have been pent up.
4. Be self aware.
It is a pride that I am included in a good poster even though the feeling whether I am a spammer occasionally appears after posting.

You are all great people and I am very happy to be in the circle of great people.
It's great you learned from the thread you created. You are now aware that you are a good poster that can earn merits and grow your account. What you need is just diligence and persistence. Contributing meaningfully to the forum takes a lot of hard work especially if you are new to the Bitcoin industry. You need to keep reading about your area of interest and understand what you are studying before posting. Don't also rush to make comments except you have read the original posts and the comments. This will enable you to come up with different ideas that are unique. When your post stands out, you will begin to get merit.

I checked your history and I saw that you are a good gambling poster. Unfortunately, the gambling section is not a place to earn merit. So you might consider checking out other sections that are always visited by merit sources. But my final advice; stop pursuing merits and enjoy the forum because merit will surely come if you express yourself positively.

And one more thing, avoid things like what _BlackStar said above.
Not mandatory, it's just a advice for him - this forum lets you discuss freely anywhere as long as you stay on topic and don't spam. Only if the OP wants to have lots of posts noticed then posting on megathread isn't going to get him what he wants. All posts will be buried with thousands of other spam, so the advice is avoid.

I still have 18 sMerits that can be sent and must be sent for the merit system to run smoothly.
Spend it on posts you deem quality, saving it won't do you much good and also not in your favor.

You will arrive at the goal you want to achieve. Need patience and get rid of feelings that make you less passionate.
Don't let your focus be on some things that should be simpler if you do.

2. Merit and sMerit functions.
It's true, of the number of merits I got, I just issued 1 and I sent it to the admin because it's a very useful guide.
I should be able to spend 6 sMerits from the current merit amount.
Now I understand that sMerit is not for keeping but for sharing.

You are all great people and I am very happy to be in the circle of great people.
You may have seen a list of merit senders for you. It might have my name on it.
If measured by the worth of your post when I send 2 merits, for other people maybe it's not worth it.
However, I am giving you a message through the merit that I have sent that people will respect you without you asking to be respected.
Then there is another message that is not communicated clearly to you that those who have sMerit will not let it settle in their pockets.
And one more thing, avoid things like what _BlackStar said above.

In conclusion, I am one of those people who was assisted by other people so that I can be what I am today. You will also experience the same fate if you are consistent and active without ignoring the rules.
I still have 18 sMerits that can be sent and must be sent for the merit system to run smoothly.

Regarding merit, I don't want to ask excessively which leads to begging.
But is it possible if I ask to review my post history. Does it look too much or too bad?
But I feel that being able to get merit is very difficult even though there are several threads made for users who want to get merit with terms and conditions that must be obeyed.

Op I understand you but for saying you don't want to ask for merit excessively meaning you are begging merit already, but that not withstanding, there is time for everything. Your time is coming to make in the forum. Be patient. An author can not Review his own work because he might not know the mistakes he has done but if another person did that, the person can figure out some errors from the writers work. There are some Merit Sources that give conditions to give Merits and you are to follow up the conditions.

3. Mastery of expertise.
Someone will be known if they have their field of expertise.
That's very true because there are some people who already have a number of merits beyond the number of activities.
Basically, everything is not solely focused on merit but on creativity and useful skills.
Merit isn't everything, but you need merit to rank up your account rankings and you'll know some users see that as recognition. You don't need to force yourself to get merit in any way because basically merit can come from all directions when you have good skills in writing and solving a problem. There are many discussions that you can use to hone your posting skills and also argue well based on knowledge, so get your passion there and hopefully your targets will be achieved.

But be aware, every user has their own tolerance limit for getting your post even if you think it is quality post. But if you have good skills and are specific at one thing or another, then of course it will serve you get more merit than your activity.

100 posts I've made so far that look mediocre compared to 100 posts made by other users who are probably of a higher quality.

Quality of a post is not in the numbers of posts made or who is making the post, it's all about the content and the weight of what it carries as an information or idea, the quantity of posts made does not also determines getting merits or not, there are users with over 200 posts with enough activities but having no merits and remains a newbie by rank.
Thank you man.
Your advice looks flat against most accounts of the same rank as you.
I don't want to say you are too low with them because the content you bring in the post is not much different from users of the same rank as me even though your rank is above mine.

100 posts visible on profile. Actually, I have made 104 scraped posts, but 4 posts have a value that is far from standard and may not be feasible so it should be removed by a moderator.
You can check your profile on http://Bpip.org to know and see for yourself what your profile is upto more accurately
bpip.org and ninjastic.space are two sites that I have visited too often to check my own profile and even those of other users.
Maybe soon I will also see your profile on the two sites.

I'm sure you are not offended when I say this because I always consider every other user's response as a whip to generate motivation.

By the way, from the ninjastic.space site, the number of your posts that are missing from the number of views on your fi profile is very much missing compared to the number that is missing from mine.
You are missing about 40 scraped posts. I only lost about 5 scraped posts.

Through this post, I want to say that there is still a lot that is lacking that I have to fix so that entering 200 to 1,000 posts and so on can be of higher quality like other users' posts.
Maybe it deserves the Member rank for me at this time because there are many shortcomings that I need to improve and I am very excited to continue to improve quality so that I can be at a more appropriate rank.
From the ranking system, the number of posts and activities that I currently have have not been able to rank up. I am very aware of this system.

It's good that you have this mindset of trying to improve and being familiar with the system many newbies are not putting effort into their activity here in Bitcointalk much more on how this forum works

I don't think it's easy for them, they also put in the effort to acquire these merits, getting your post merited is not something that happens so it's a misconception to think it's easy for them and you think you are better than them just continue putting effort on your post

@The Skeptical Chymist might have seen this if he still offered to review users' posts and help them get his rank. But unfortunately he decided to temporarily puase his offer even though until now there are still some users who get regular reviews.

But I tend to advice the OP to get merit naturally and encourage him to go to great lengths to make sensible, quality posts. Avoid posting more on megathreads like gambling boards or maybe altcoins, and ask around on technical discussion boards and learn things.

I sense some feeling of frustration and OP I think you shouldn't deter just yet for not having merits to your posts based on the level of efforts you must have put in and by so raised your expectations on merit.

Focus on improving your posts, the contents and your diction too, cause for you having 13 merits already it then shows you ain't a bad poster only what you need do is to  improvement on it. Am sure there's someone out there that's going to notice your efforts and reward it with a merit but that doesn't mean you should classify every post you create as worthy of receiving a merit.

Hey OP, no need to sweat it too much! Sure, your posts might not be top-notch compared to other users, but it is good that you are willing to put in the work to improve your writing skills. Plus, quality is subjective and what one person thinks is awesome might not be the same for someone else. And to be clear, everyone has different levels of experience and expertise, which can definitely affect the quality of their posts.

Your contributions will definitely be recognized and appreciated by others over time, regardless of your rank. So focus on making great content and adding value to the community, rather than just racking up merits or climbing the ranks. Everyone starts somewhere, and we have all been in the same boat as you at some point. Keep an open mind, take in as much knowledge as you can, and do not be afraid to ask for help when you need it. It takes years to reach a high level rank, so don't jump ahead of yourself.

Keep your motivation as good as possible because in my opinion your account is still as old as a corn that shouldn't complain about the merit system. You don't have to kick yourself too hard about merit because basically if you care about quality then merit will find you, not the other way around.

After all you have earned 13 merit so far since you started forum activity. This means that you are also a good poster so that some merit source or other users get your post. It's just that you need to be patient and keep working hard, but don't compare yourself with a number of other users. Keep your motivation and don't complain, but have a good pattern for your posts, it's really important.

As a general rule, don’t lose motivation: keep reading the forum, learn about bitcoin and write. Merits will come.

Good tips from the Merit Rascal.

You need to learn a lot about Bitcoin and the blockchain in order to be able to write something that sounds truly knowledgeable.

In lieu of that - or along the way, rather - try to write something original, but also be yourself. Some of my most merited posts I wrote from the heart. I wasn't even thinking about merits, they just came.

But in general, don't try to write what you think will get you merits, just try to write your life experience as a human being.

Your comparisons are so baseless, you can track through their profiles what they do that makes merit contributors pay more attention to their posts. Do me the best you can, don't be too forced to rank up immediately by expecting Merit in your posts. Someone will judge a post subjectively, if they think your post deserves merit, they will appreciate it. Keep learning to increase your knowledge in forums, when you understand the ins and outs of forums well, it will be easier for you to get merit.

Some time ago I asked voluntarily and openly for anyone to review my post because I feel I missed many opportunities to earn merit. I don't need it for rank ups or recognition, but I do need it to earn some sMerit to post on other users' quality posts. You know - it got both positive feedback and also feedback I wasn't expecting. Everyone has their own way to quality assessment, so it will always vary from user to user, but rest assured - the rule of thumb is to strive for quality posts and don't let your inability limit your desire to keep growing.

I advise you to try some of the suggestions that other users have recommended for you, but I think you also need to pay attention to these to improve your posting skills.

It is not bad neither is it too much to ask for a post review it is up to the reviewer to decide if the posts are merit deserving or not. @fillippone has asked for the link to your best posts so he can review and merit them accordingly. Personally I don't like how forum users criticise other users who wish to get more merit for rank up whereby everyone is guilty of the same thing. We should be here to encourage ourselves here instead of discouraging.

It really takes a lot of time and effort to rank up. It's not easy, but it's fulfilling when you rank up knowing that you've worked hard for it. I agree with what @Eternad said that lower ranks usually get ignored and it's understandable. Higher ranks already proved themselves with their quality contributions so most of the time, others would only read their replies cause even me, I'm guilty of that.

I'm a lower rank myself but I know it'll take some time so I don’t really rush myself to rank up. I just try my best to give contributions with the knowledge I have.

@OP, earning merit in this forum is not measured my how long a user have registered your account but it mostly depends on how active you are in the forum and how good quality your comments or topics are, for example, I try so hard some week to make sure I am on the first page of comments on topic I find interesting and some times I luckily get merit on the first page. When you are so active on the forum and known by the level of good comments you make, you luckily will be earning merit, even if not every day but at least two or three merit each week. Also sometimes, if you are not so active, you could miss out some topics were your reply is supposed to have earned you merit but before you even get to see the topic it might have gone down the board.

I might be totally wrong be but if you stay so active on the forum, you will easily get to discover some thread were you can be earning merit and you may also have a favorite merit fan that can be giving you one or two merit when they come across your post.

If you are a good user of the forum, it is normal that the speed at which you earn merits increases as you become more active, more knowledgeable, participate more in the forum, and people get to know you better.

At least that happened to me. For a long time I earned merits at a slower pace than my activity, and I think I remember that since LoyceV helped me to rank up to Sr Member was a kind of turning point where I started to earn more quickly until I reached almost twice as many merits as activity, but since I reached Legendary the speed has slowed down a bit.

Don't worry too much about the result, the merits, and enjoy the process more, your activity on the forum, and the merits will come on their own.

You may see some newbie accounts got plenty of merits with low post count. Well, even though their rank is newbies. They might not be a newbie. Did you get what I mean? Maybe they have been in this forum for a long time and know how to earn merit and where to post for merits. Multiple accounts in this forum are allowed unless you evade the ban rules. So, It's not always true what we see.

Moreover, there are plenty of newbie accounts that are genius. I remember of n0nce and PowerGlove. You will be surprised if you see their merit ratio. Even though they ranked up already, they were newbies at some point, and look at their merits and post quality. They are genius at solving various issues. Powerglove was a newbie, and he was able to patch the forum. So, don't be disappointed. We are not the same. Some forum members like n0nce, PowerGlove, LoyceV and o_e_l_e_o are genius in coding and solving various issues. They have some skills, and they help others using their skills, leading them to earn a decent amount of merits.

Some people might say No, it's not complicated. Well, As a newbie, Yes, it's challenging to earn merits. Earning 13 merits from the first 100 posts for an average Joe is not bad. Eventually, You will get familiar with the forum environment and understand where you must improve. Keep reading posts, and don't engage with threads where you do not have a genuine interest.

Don't compare yourself to other users because I think every user will have a different forum experience. The quality of your posts is judged by other users and may never be the same as you think. I can say that I have a quality post, but still other users may judge it differently.

You only need to make posts as unique as possible and of course with the best quality, then let other people judge your posts based on merit. Having someone randomly review the quality of your posts is probably undesirable as some people will think you're begging, while others won't. Let merit flow as naturally as possible for you and never compare yourself to others.

Comparing with others is usually not the best idea: you never know why anyone decides that a post deserves a merit. There can be different reasons: may be the post gave some important information, may be it showed the depth of analyzing something, may be it was fun or anything else. You never know. And while you try to get merits instead of just communicating it will frustrate you and you'll even probably get less merits. Chat at your pleasure and don't pay too much attention to merits and you'll get all you need with time. It is not a race, you will get your rank even if you will not get it first. Just talk about what is interesting to you, share information you get, ask questions you find interesting, and you'll get both pleasure from communicating with others and rank up on forum.

There have been several user posts on this forum that I found asking if it's possible to send merits to yourself?
Actually the question really represents how I feel but don't want to look like someone trying to fish.

if you do it shows you are too frustrated with yourself and your contribution to the forum discussion. you already know how you get Merit from other members. and you can also distribute your Merit to others. then do it.
It's not a must, but when you do you help the system work properly. everyone has their contribution to the forum. some need a lot of time and a lot of posts made to finally move up the rankings. but there is also the expertise and knowledge that is owned in a short time that can rise in rank.
I think you just need to grow your confidence.

Your current activity is 100 posts which is not enough for the next rank even if you reach the merit requirement, but it is a good achievement if you calculate the ratio between the number of posts and the amount of merits you have earned. This means that every 10 posts you publish have the potential to earn around 1.3 merit points (cmiiw).
I don't know who you are talking about, but first try to take a closer look at the number of posts of the user you are referring to and then calculate the ratio.

OP, you're leaving out one small thing. You are on a forum, and earning merit also means that you will in turn send your merits to other people. But I don't see any movement in you, although, of course, your balance is not great.
Since a person behaves in relation to other posters, namely, he keeps his merits for some significant post, you can think the same about other people. Until you see people to whom you are ready to give your merits, the movement of merits that the administrator meant will not occur.
Look at things more simply, do not demand much from people, and do not value yourself above others, and people will be drawn to you.

Why forcing yourself to rank up faster? you need to enjoy and familiar with the forum, not only looking to rank up ASAP.

I check your account stat in BPIP and only one of your post got deleted by the moderator, so this mean you're good enough because you're not a spammer. If you don't get merit, this mean you need to learn or improve something, nothing less nothing more.

Some people might say the section you posted could be the reason, but for me isn't. Merit sources aren't sleeping and someone can merit your post if they feel it's deserved.

Sometimes post of low rank can be easily be ignored for merit because user have higher expectation to merit a post. Also the board you are posting play an important factor on getting merits. Most of merit source hang out on Bitcoin technical discussion or Bitcoin diccusion alone but you need to have a deep learning on how Bitcoin technical aspect in able to join them.

Local is the number one place if you want to start on getting merits since you can easily expressed your thoughts and know what the user preferences since that's your local hangout. You can also use a merit thread like this [Merit] Share your best posts/threads with Fillippone to be merit assessed by @fillippone or a merit thread on your local board.

There's a lot of active users here that same like you which is eager to earn merits for rank up and possible campaign opportunity. Giving your best effort is must and don’t look on the number of post you made. It's about quality and establishing good/ healthy communication with others that moght potentially gave you a merit.

Regarding merit, I don't want to ask excessively which leads to begging.
But is it possible if I ask to review my post history. Does it look too much or too bad?

I think the underlying essence of this post/thread ball down to the same thing merit begging, since you did not add anything meaningful to this content and I see it as unnecessary, you can still learn and adjust your posting habits in silence without creating a thread to narrates your story.

100 posts I've made so far that look mediocre compared to 100 posts made by other users who are probably of a higher quality.
100 posts visible on profile. Actually, I have made 104 scraped posts, but 4 posts have a value that is far from standard and may not be feasible so it should be removed by a moderator.

But there are some users with quality posts that are not much different from my quality, but they are already ranked above me. I asked what they did to make it so easy for them to get it.

There have been several user posts on this forum that I found asking if it's possible to send merits to yourself?
Actually the question really represents how I feel but don't want to look like someone trying to fish.
