It is an addiction and people only use phones to speak to each other despite being in the same room.

Two years back I lost my cell phone and I had to survive one week without the phone. That time I realized, I am a cell phone addict.

I suppose, smartphone is just another tool that humanity has crafted, similar to hammers, axes, and billions of other things we invented to make our lifes easier. It lets us interact quicklier and more efficiently, gives instant access to terabytes of information on the Internet, serves as a photo/video cam and so on. Yes, people started using it so often that it’s changing the whole world. But I don’t think we can refer to it as “addiction”, it’s just technological progress.

I've definitely noticed I'm always on a screen. My work requires it, but even in my spare time I'm my phone.

So yeah probably. I installed an app that tracks the time I spend on apps. Can't fix a problem if you don't know what it is...

I really hate phone. It makes us have more distance. I like reading and chatting with friends rather than holding a smartphone to surf facebook. Undecided Undecided

Addiction to smart phones have become a usual  phenomena these days.

What i do is to avoid having games on phone, then whenever i need a full concentration at an event , i only go with my call phone or better still, switch off my Data.

I am not saying that I am a cell phone addict. However, everybody uses cell phones these days, they are a part of our daily life and we need them. So yeah, i dont think if you use your phone often doesnt make you are an addict. If you cannot be in the present moment or when youre with friends and family and you still on your phone, maybe youre an addict.

Set some time limit in using a smart phone and dedicate yourself in to reading books or getting involved in a sport.

Nope, I wouldn't consider myself a cell phone addict but I'll still like to reduce the number of time I spend on my phone, reading news, whatsapping and other social media although I'm not active on Facebook and Instagram.
My advice for addicts is just make your cell phone as boring as possible by deleting social media apps and other irrelevant apps. Try having hobbies you're passionate about or just go chasing your dreams. Cheers!

The most of the people say that the smartphones exist to give others their undivided attention, but what they don't know that using the phones during social events actually diminishes them own experience of those events. So this tool is responsible for our unsatisfying social interactions.

We are really addicted to our phones? What can we do? What you can do when you keep your phone on and what you do on usually?

Oh my God! I can also consider myself as like that!  Cry.. coz i can't live without my phone anymore..coz it is also my bitcoin wallet!
I also use it for business purposes! So i can be updated in Crypto Happenings! Grin
There's alot of advantage of having Smartphones..but let us not forget that the personal in touch with our love ones, family and friends is the most important communication!
