You will pay taxes on any dividends, interest income, or capital gains, just as you did before you were retired. ... If your other income sources are not too high you may qualify for the zero percent capital gains tax rate—which means you would pay no tax on all or a portion of your capital gains for that year.

If the government said that I should pay tax, yes, I will but not the half of what I earn maybe 20% of it. I'm more than happy to pay tax if the taxes that we pay will go to infrastructures ir other government project not on the bank accounts of corrupt politician

I won't coz the GOV do not ask me to do that Grin,if you were in US, then you have to.

Paying of taxes depends on the country that we live in. So in short, if the country mandate us to pay taxes that will help our economy grow then why not. My only requirement is the assurance that it will go and used properly in creating buildings, school, roads, machine, etc. that will contribute to an individual to become more productive and successful.

Everyone must pay tax. If you have work now, you need to pay taxes. For the better community, and for development of the community.

If taxes really go to community, then no problem. Corruption is a big issue tho

The author was talking about millions of dollar worth of BTC. If it is just a small amount then you can do P2P transactions, but in millions I guess there are always banks involved.
If you are a Bitcoin billionaire and want to buy houses, jets and yachts easily, you can pay lump sum tax in Switzerland. It is a pittance from your wealth!

However, I talked about ordinary people who cannot afford such luxury and want to save every percent, as well as think it is unacceptable to be robbed by a tyrant!

Are you going to pay taxes on your Bitcoin profits?

Suppose you make a million dollars. Suppose you have already made a million dollars. Are you going to hand half of that cash over to the government? Of course, this is assuming you convert your coins into federally recognized cash. If your only intention is to amass a huge supply of Bitcoins, the question does not apply to you.

You're supposed to pay income taxes. It seems rather easy to get away with not doing it, though... at least in this case.

The only taxes which I know that it must be given was the things which is under by the government as well. Therefore, any currency or profit that involved in any centralized business was automatically need to have a tax, but in bitcoin it doesn't need at all due to it is decentralized not a a regulated things.

I guess will not have an option if you convert your BTC to fiat money. Just hope that this money will be used on good projects for your country.
Just don't use banks! Cash is an option!

20% is somewhat tolerable
I think the question is not about concrete percent, but how your taxes will be spent! Many people would agree to pay 50% from their income if be sure that taxes will be spent on country's improvement and evade even 1% tax if know these funds will be stolen by corrupt govt members!

I will pay tax. It is use by the government for infrastracture and facilities, but I think  half of what I earn is too much. It can be 20% of it will be taxed Cheesy

20% is somewhat tolerable, as long as everyone is paying their taxes and there is no indirect taxation. But here in India, the situation is quite different. Only 1.5% of the population pays their taxes, and the income tax level is 31%. On top of that we have indirect taxes in the form of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and excise duty.
