Govt shills up the ass in here.  I've never seen this many people so pro-govt/pro-tax on any forum, news site, article comments, etc.

I get it, pay tax or you screwed, but come on, the govt is over 20 trillion in debt and an absolute joke.

I wonder where some of these IP's are coming from?  DC?

Finally a real human commentator...

Thank you for being real... Cheesy

as long as there is no official regulation on the payment of bitcoin taxes, I will take advantage of this situation as best I can, because in my country bitcoin has not been accepted as a valid payment instrument.

I will never pay any tax on my BTC profits. But then, I don't pay income tax either...
You just need to be organized.

Are you going to pay taxes on your Bitcoin profits?

Suppose you make a million dollars. Suppose you have already made a million dollars. Are you going to hand half of that cash over to the government? Of course, this is assuming you convert your coins into federally recognized cash. If your only intention is to amass a huge supply of Bitcoins, the question does not apply to you.

You're supposed to pay income taxes. It seems rather easy to get away with not doing it, though... at least in this case.

If it could be legalize the  i don't have time to oppose governments will. Tax is also beneficial for us since it is also for the countries improvement.

I've yet to see anyone mention a situation like mine.  I did a fair amount of trading last year and my gains with alts were a little over $200k.

My short-term tax owed from the gains is about $60k.

I originally planned on cashing out some of my crypto to pay taxes. Unfortunately due to my losses during this bear market, I don't even have enough to cover the taxes on last year's gains even if I cash out everything!  I never cashed anything out in 2017.

Yes, I come across as an inexperienced trader with no knowledge of the US tax laws, but his is some straight BS! How is it fair after all my hard work, I have to hand it all over just because the crypto market peaked 12/31/17 and then crashed right after???

People who paid their taxes form their earnings from bitcoin would hate me for sure if I don't so I would. But if the government would charge ridiculous taxes, I would just leave my coins in my wallet and never withdraw.

Its better to enforce laws on these currencies so that black markets start decreasing from the bitcoin economy

You might want to learn what bitcoin is and why it was created...

Also laws = gravity, motion and thermodynamics, you are referring to legislated bullshit, basically a terrorist sympathiser Tongue

Some say that most of your tax dollars just goes to pay off the debt to the fed and such.  To think that your taxes are actually funding the government might be a lie to some extent.

Yes taxes has a purpose it serve as a payment for our community itself to build a better society , and I think it depend on the case of the country if the bitcoin is or will have a taxes but still if the country been implemented bitcoin or legalizing bitcoin. Surely I pay taxes.

i support that a small amount of tax canbe paid but should not exceed the affordable limit so that people get crushed under it

I think about paying. Paying your taxes is considered a civic duty, although doing so is also a requirement of the law. If you do not pay your taxes, the government agency that oversees taxes — the Internal Revenue Service or IRS — will require you to pay your taxes or else face penalties, such as fines or going to jail.
