It's me, I'm the one who's hiding.

Don't worry, I've got sodas and snacks in here and will come out when good and ready.

But you'll share, right?

I mean, just toss some of the snacks out, we'll find them.

lol im not hiding from bitcoins. they are forced to love them (for now). Pay income tax (if any minus investments and all these electrical bills, plus the space you used in your own home which you rented out to a "company" which is actually u that u registered with the state as a resale company, so you could buy from wholesalers for computer equipment which manufacture your bitcoins. all tax deductible btw. ) i want to play, everyone is having fun out there and i can do whatever i want as long as i dont break the law... sounds like fun to me... live and learn, the more u learn, the more u are bettering yourself.

If people think they need to hide when just talking about bitcoins. We have a long way to go before they become mainstream.

Why hide on here ?

Is there a reason, other than paranoia, to hide ? Assuming, of course, you are not doing anything illegal.
I'd even say: assuming you are not doing something illegal on the BBS. But what could this be then? ... Oh, I see, the OP is trying to find out who's trying to hack the BBS Cheesy

Seriously, just use a VPN anything more than that and you are seriously paranoid.
There is a difference between paranoia and learning.

I'll admit it's very interesting, but I wouldn't recommend it; unless you actually are hacking of course, in which case good show.
I used to be very heavy into hacking.
The only time I ever got in trouble was with PayPal...
Found an exploit, they found me. Grin

if you have nothing to hide, why bother...

(BTW, in context if this post, it is much deeper than one could think at the first glance)

I like to think of it as literally hiding...under a desk or in a bomb shelter or something like that.

When browsing the forums, are folks concerned about their IP and info being on here, and are therefore utilizing software such as TOR/VPNs/etc to hide themselves.
Your first question was clear enough IMO Wink
I don't see the point in hiding when browsing this BBS. Bitcoin is legal, my wallet isn't threatened by the fact that my IP is here, I'm not using the same credentials here as in any mining pool... Why hide more than by choosing an un-googleable nickname? Wink

No the question was (rephrased):

When browsing the forums, are folks concerned about their IP and info being on here, and are therefore utilizing software such as TOR/VPNs/etc to hide themselves.
Only Admins/Mods have access to your information.
As long as you don't admit to doing anything immoral to the eyes of the staff, there is nothing you should be worried about.

This is a mix between Social Engineering (letting people know what you want them to know) and anonymity (what you want to brag about without getting in trouble).
A.K.A. one bad ass balancing act.

Gotcha - that helps.  Thanks

I can't tell if I'm being fucked with or not Huh

What exactly did you mean by the original question?

If it was a general question to people if they are using TOR or not, then I don't understand this post.
If it was meant as is the site setup to automatically use TOR for everyone, then the answer is no.
