yes, what you said is true. most airdrops now only collect participant data or perhaps to add to their Twitter and telegram followers.
after the airdrop campaign ended their names and accounts changed and that often happened
They only increase the number of their supporters then use it for their personal benefit,

We have encountered a lot of the said situation, and yes they often change the group/account name to make it looks like its real in the eyes of their new victims. That's why we better avoid those kinds of airdrops because they only think of themselves and do not care about their participants.

I never join airdrop that require sending transaction fee. It's kind of shit scam. I receive many airdrop emails everyday with hyperlinks  or shorten links, i just mark them as spam emails and never click at any links. Keep you safe. They maybe virus/scam links
the only thing i see that you do wrong is you register or give them your email before , that's why they can send you many spam message in your email which is actually  not secured.

If you have plan to join or participate in any airdrop don't use your main email for that just create a brand new email to register so they cannot  send any spam message in your main email account.

I agree with your opinion that there are many Airdop campaigns whose purpose is to get information from people. To avoid leaking personal information, you must select good project management teams. My experience is to select reputable bounty and airdrop management groups on this bitcointalk forum as Bounty Detective. I earn some money doing campaigns from this group. I hope there are many reputable airdrop project management groups on this forum to contribute to creating a transparent and safe cryptocurrency market for all investors.
always take care of your important documents, don't let others misuse them in their interests, there are lots of airdrops out there that require to fill in personal data, even asking for an ID card or SIM and some are asking for a passport with your photo, it's very dangerous in my opinion

Sometimes, these things are just unavoidable. For instance, in the use of email addresses. It is better you use an unofficial email address for airdrop so that when you receive spams, particularly those spas that are meant to phish and steal away your personal and private info, you right not have cause to fall victim.

I often get spam emails about Airdrop, even I put in the Airdrop group without permission and to my knowledge.
whether they get my email from anywhere, that's why I often block e-mail spamer because it is very annoying

If you are newbie and you are looking for ways of making some  Bitcoin and other altcoin, be very CAREFUL with AIRDROP campaign as many of them out there are out to scam/milk you with the little ones at your disposal. Sometimes, they are out to get your personal information like email address, etc and sell it out for money.
Some of them will tell you to send some amount of BTC or ethereum to their address as fee for you to get the aclaimed airdrop reward of which they will later run away and mute their telegram channel.

Be warn is to be armed.

Newbie, often greedy and want instant profits. So if there is an airdrop offer, it will be followed without further analysis. In the future, if their expectations are not as expected, they protest. In fact, the price range listed is only an estimate of the highest price, if you look at current market conditions, it is very difficult to achieve.

Some are even willing to do KYC only for offers no more than 10 $. Come on, we also have to care about personal identity, don't be pawned for money that is not much.
If you are interested in airdrops, choose airdrops that are held by trusted global exchanges. It's rare, there are many participants so we have to update and fast.
Who doesn't want to get the money? I'm sure you want to.

It's natural because they are still beginners, you also when beginners make the same mistakes.

Digital era like this where you use Facebook, Google, you still think about privacy? I'm sure your ideal will fade with time.

Airdrop is a no no for me, i have decided not to join airdrops on the cheap anymore. Only top rated airdrops interests me, such as keybase etc.
Even bounties are not entirely rewarding, you need to do good researches to be able to get valued projects to promote.

Well, airdrop is a free event to get some cryptocurrencies from a specific or certain project which is held to disseminate free cryptos so you do not have to pay for it. It will be an obvious scam in airdrop if someone will ask you to send out some Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies to be able to claim your reward because it must not be that way. Actually airdrops are safe events and can provide you assurance to have part on the distribution of coins depending on the number of participants registered on that event. It is easy to know or identify a scam airdrop once it was already asking you to send amount on a specified crypto wallet. That must be a thing that newbies need to know so that they won't get victimized by scam airdrop events.

Airdrops aren't dangerous unless you are asked for deposits, it's either you don't get paid at all or tokens become worthless and living helpless in your wallet, greedy people become a Airdrop scam victim, Airdrops are free, don't make deposits
Yes, airdrop is basically harmless if it is made by authorized companies or exchanges and it is also free, so there is no story to make any deposit to get a token, this is something that everyone should understand.

I have participated in many airdrops and I totally agree with you that many of them are scams. I felt stupid to say that participating in airdrops was completely free and I didn't lose anything. So now I get so much spam that I have to get rid of the emails I have used for over 5 years.

Today, getting an airdrop is not give much money, and many of the airdrops doesn't have a price or market. I think the trend of airdrop is ended, and you need to search the other way to make money. You can get the reward if you join in an airdrop, but you will hard to sell the token or coin from the airdrop because many of the projects cannot get listed on the exchanges. But you can still search for the airdrop and try to get the reward by participating in the programs, but you should remember that right now, it is hard to make money from the airdrop.

The urge to get paid and sell to Eth etc, is one of the reasons why most people ends up getting scammed because they tend to throw caution to the wind. There are many dead groups on telegram of which some were created for one airdrop or the other. As to add my own opinion, newbies should be careful of airdrops that asks for private keys, ETH, or even to sign a message using private keys all in a bid to get their rewards; legit airdrops doesn't ask for these.

Warning information should be tagged in this way. Everyone knows what's going on now and the scam of giving before receiving has be circulating for a while and most people knows about it. Aidrops are still profitable if you are lucky to do the right but that's 2 in 20.
If the airdrop is still lucky 2 out of 20, it will be very difficult to find it, because in percentage only 2% are still good and good, the rest is still in the unprofitable or scam category, so following the airdrop also still looks like a waste of time on currently.
well, I totally agree with what you say because at the moment only a few airdrops can really produce results because many airdrops are only trash tokens in the wallet.

Everyone? I don't think so. If you look around, there's still plenty of airdrop joiners and that makes them not aware of it. Maybe they do and maybe not but if they do, probably they are aware of the risk and knows that their efforts might vanished.

Aidrops are still profitable if you are lucky to do the right but that's 2 in 20.
I disagree, maybe it's profitable to the developers but not to airdrop joiners.

Any airdrop asking for BTC or ETH before you can get your reward is obviously scam. Some will go as far as tricking newbies to submit their private keys, at least out of many, a few will still fall prey. Most will give tokens worth almost negligible amounts, but a few are cool. You just need to be selective with the kind of airdrops you do. I remember the good old days when i got XLM via airdrop, it was stress free and worth it. I think about 5k xlm, but hey things changed.
