Don't let others control your BTC -> self custody
I bought bitcoin quite early and I had a plan to save up and maybe take some profit if it really goes up in future, but life verifies your every plan. There was a moment when I moved to another city and needed to remodel my home and I needed money and that was probably the worst time to sell anything (at the end of 2016) but I thought to myself that my bitcoins were mostly bought at $500-600 and the price was something like $900 so why not take profit and take that $300 per coin and so I did. I sold and got some pathetic sum out that allowed me to buy supplies and a year later the price was at $20k...
After that I've decided to stick to the plan whatever happens and I did.

There are literally a lot of pauses and modifications to your plan even if you make a lot of plans like plan A, plan B.... and plan Z, cause there are a lot of possible outcomes that might happen that we could not think about. For sure, the flow of life might not follow the plan we have in our mind, but having a goal will help you to keep forward and for that reason would help you to be consistent in investing. Your plan would be just your guide in your journey, but you will really have to be prepared for unexpected events, for example, you accumulated a lot of Bitcoin recently, but suddenly you really need to have a huge amount of funds for emergencies as well then the market went down, things like that. In this industry it's really a must to be cautious about your decision and not invest money that you cannot afford to lose cause in the worst-case scenario, you would be the one who will suffer. Remember that the market is still volatile, you cannot predict the accurate outcome but for sure you could do speculations.

Good discourse from you as an educational effort. but usually what we plan is very mature and we have calculated the risks and their reciprocal impacts, but there are unexpected things that can indirectly impact the physiology of our trading, for example.
Let's just say that the impact that occurs beyond our expectations is a kind of fate even though we have applied mature discourse and efforts with special risk considerations in the plans that we have prepared ourselves through some education. Everyone will only follow clear directions, either through education or by asking people who are experienced in the field we are planning. So just carry out the plan according to the directions and research that we already know about in any way.

Quote
The efforts made if you want to trade are always to use really pure money for trading. For other purposes, set it in another post and don't bother messing with what you have planned. I think that way it will run normally.
All work that requires capital must be properly organized in such a way that the work can run quite well without any chaos arising after it is carried out. Trading can be considered as a job with a certain level of risk and as you said above, everyone who wants to do it must of course go through risk calculations and careful planning so that the capital provided for trading must be clear. This means that the capital that will be used is money that will not be used for anything else.

Honestly, bitcoin is not an investment that one needs to go into without knowledge, I don't know the person who has been tutoring you on Bitcoin but all I know is that Bitcoin is an investment that requires patience, you need to know how to make use of the wallets and the particular wallet to use either custodian or exchange, before investing in btc you have been sure of what you want because you don't expect to start making money immediately if that is your motives or expectations, I promise that I might not work like that for you, investing little by little as you can afford, it is better to avoid using all the funds you have for other things to invest here but if you can do so without such action affecting you so be it.
But, are there any investment that you can go to without any knowledge in your head? I'm sure there isn't because when we say investment, it always has its own risk. If not, there is no way you can multiply your money out of it. BTC is mainly a currency but it can also work well as an asset. Investing requires a patience, and it can scale as there are multiple investment terms. For those who lack in patience they can also go for mid and short-term. If that wasn't enough they can do trading instead as it was instant.

The only downside is it's not easy. So patience will still be needed here in the learning part. Like I said earlier, we all invest for the money. This is the thing that we want and motivates us. So, do not say that it won't work.

Well, we all know that life journey is like someone riding on a roller coaster, things are never always as we plan it most especially for someone who is just starting life and struggling towards becoming financially stable.

I personally have had plans on how to go about my bitcoin investment, Infact, by the starting of this year, I remember I had written in my new year resolution that, before this year ends, I would have atleast, 1 full bitcoin as an achievement for the year, but then, alot of unexpected things have happened, which have made me fall really short on this plan, the year is almost ending and right now, I don't have up to half bitcoin in my holdings, it's really crazy though.

So, for me, I believe this is not an experience that is Peculiar to me alone, this is happens to almost everyone, except for those who have made alot of money that unexpected events that require money will not make them change their investment plans or goals.

It will always not go into our plan as life is very unpredictable. Maybe you plan to put 10% of your monthly salary into Bitcoin but this month you haven't as you'll need to pay some hospital bills. No matter what you'll do to stick to your plan there will be circumstances in which it won't allow you. That is where we need to sacrifice or modify it. That's happened to me mostly this year. There's tons of unexpected stuff that needs to go through but what's important is that you won't forget your plan. Maybe you'll delay it now but make sure you'll take it in the future when it allows you.

There is definitely a middle ground here that can be used. I am not saying that everyone will use it, but that middle ground is not really all that shocking. I am talking about a situation where you could definitely make it work, you just have to have a good understanding of income and passive income.

If you end up working, earning a salary like most people, or you could be a business owner too, that means you have an income that you work for and then you could use some percent of it, as high as possible of course, to put it aside as a savings. This is where the tricky part starts, if you put the money aside to something that will just go up or down, then it is investment, but if you put it in an investment that makes you earn an income, that would be passive income. Think of savings account, or a stock with dividends, and in our case; staking.

Sticking to the plan is better. In fact that's also the advice we usually say to the beginners. But there are times unexpected things happened that lead us to make some changes and it is inevitable sometimes.

As much as possible I want to stick to my original plan, however when there's an emergency and I need funds, my Bitcoin is what I can count on even I plan to hold for long period. Hence even the reason for the sudden changes are not what I planned for, if this the only way then I'm not hesitating to make some changes. So don't pressure yourself and learn to adjust because in the end we're doing this for our own benefit.

We often advise newcomers asking about successful Bitcoin investment strategies to have a well-structured plan and stick to it no matter what. Nevertheless if there is anything I have learned is that in bitcoin investment it  is rarely a linear journey. And despite our best intentions and meticulous planning, unforeseen circumstances can disrupt our initial plans. For the community I want to know, has your investment plan always unfolded as expected or have unexpected events caused you to pause or modify your plan? Despite our best efforts there are instances where sticking rigorously to a plan becomes challenging due to the unpredictable nature of life.
You are the ones who would really be making such decision specially on ff;

1. If plan A fails, then proceed to plan B.
-Back up plans would really be that always relevant and something that recommended because changes and sudden occurrence of unexpected events could be there.

2. Be versatile
-If you do see that you initial plans didnt work out, then make another one. Dont be that easily get discouraged or being derailed
with your goal and target

3. Emotion control or moderation
-This is important most of the time, due to unpredictable circumstances then we are just humans which its normal to make out
those kind of reactions which would really be potentially be changing up your initial plans that had been drawn out.

As long we are really that seeing that we are still in good path or way then proceed and dont stop.  Smiley

No matter how good a person is at making a plan, there will always be obstacles or something unexpected that confronts him. If we experience a big problem, it would be better to face the problem first. It will indeed be a problem in our plans for investing, plans may fail but goals must not be extinguished. Indeed, we don't want what we have planned to fail, it all happens to us, but what can we do, humans cannot avoid it.

I like your phrase "plans may fail, but goals don't die". That's great, I hope many people have this principle. With the failures they experience, they must make it a lesson for the future so that it does not happen again when doing the same thing. With the failures they experience they also have to study the problems that have made them fail in achieving a goal, by studying it well and finding a solution to handle it will reduce the risks that exist, by understanding and studying the things that make them fail it can make them calm and not panic when they experience the same problem because they already know what they have to do to solve the existing problems.
But risks will certainly exist in any case, the rest depends on us running it. To be able to do the best, in my opinion, you have to learn everything at the beginning by understanding every aspect. By considering it carefully. That way they can start something and run it well.

Executing according to plan will definitely be very difficult, because it is almost certain that in the investment journey there will be many things that happen beyond our expectations because Bitcoin price movements are quite fast and significant.
And after all that happens, psychologically our plans will be shaken a little and that's where consistency is needed to remain patient in waiting until we reach the goal we have planned.

However, things outside of planning that we don't want are problems in real life that interfere with investment, perhaps a little difficult to overcome, for example, the need for money is so urgent that whether we like it or not, we have to cancel the investment right away.

In terms of my experience in investing in Bitcoin, I have to admit that at the beginning I made a lot of mistakes, such as changing plans in the middle of the road because of panic which resulted in losses and also impatience, but slowly we can overcome things like that with the many experiences we have go through.

Once you've deviated from the plan, it's good to take a pause and evaluate what's going on. However, if the core of our plan is still robust, and our confidence remains high, it's wise to stick to what we believe in. The end of a struggle can be either a failure or a success... there's no need to dwell on failure because, at least, we gave it a shot.

I'm sure many people prepare layered plans for each battle. We often hear about Plan A, Plan B, and even Plan X. That's okay, as long as the goal remains the same and consistency can be maintained, I believe everything will be fine. What needs attention is, before switching plans, make sure the main plan can no longer help. So, I choose to pause for a moment and consider whether the plan can still proceed or not. Never rush to change plans because sometimes that's not good either.

Stress can happen when you are too rigid. How was my trip? Unpredictability has been a part of the routine. Have plans? I did make them. Followed to them? In some cases, no. Why? Things move at strange times, especially in the crypto world. How to get it? Be flexible. Getting used to market changes or new rules isnt enough; you also need to be able to "flow" with the pace of life. I have learned to be open to change and to turn when I need to. This method is not random; it is strategic. To learn from the ups and downs of the market, you need to stay alert and ready to change your tactics. The world isnt a straight line, its more like a river, and Im learning to "flow" with it instead of fighting it. In the end? A trip where following plans isnt as important as being able to change well. BE ready for life's unexpected turns

Of course, we should follow our plan or strategy here, but for sure it's not going to be linear, so we have to modify it as we go along. In my case, I have plan to just continue to accumulate no matter what, but there will be weeks or months that I can't buy because there is other prioritize in life. Or worst, you need to withdraw some because of emergencies. I know it sucks if this happens, but nevertheless, this is life and it's not going to be perfect.

There will be a lot of challenges that we are going to face. However, we should stay positive and then just continue to grow our bitcoin if everything settles down a bit. Just like in the next 6 months or so, we will experience another bitcoin halving, so we should be prepare and save for the long run.

I have learned consistency is the key. So if I am not sticking with my plan and I am inconsistent, how much damage will it be to me if I am like that?
That's why I am always with my plan and I'll wait if it succeeds before taking any actions and will go to plan B. But if nothing yet is happening, I'll be consistent to what I've planned.
And that is like holding until I can without any panic selling.

Holding Bitcoin is the best approach if an investor wants the minimum risk.  And with plans, consistency is ok but we should always have an alternative option if the plan isn't working as expected.  I agree that we must have a secondary plan and an alternative of it just in case the primary and secondary will not work in the given situation.

If there is nothing wrong with the plan, it is best to be consistent but once flaw is observed, I think it is much better to adjust to be able to fix that flaws seen on the plan.  This is what we called adaption, if we are able to adapt and do necessary things that the scenario needed, we will find our selves successful in every investment venture we made.
I agree with that. Holding Bitcoin has been the best plan to stick to and people don't realize that until they miss the whole point of holding.
They're jealous with people bragging their profits with the altcoins that they have become lucky and then still, they don't get the whole thing out of it.
That's why they have to modify their plans because they don't stick to the plan and think that other's plan are way better than theirs.

When you are convinced that there is no system or plan that is free of loopholes, you will certainly be understanding of all the obstacles that you will face as you seek to implement any plan.  Changing plans may be a temporary period to correct the course, and a good investor is the one who can recognize these opportunities to correct his course before it ends up with failed results.  I personally respect those who adopt the strategy of changing plans when I see the number of people who retreat in the face of the first obstacle and end their plans in the first place.

A plan, no matter how much thought was put into it before it was carefully put together for implementation is always open to change. Whenever we plan for the future, we should make our plans more flexible as the future is yet unknown making your plans open to failure.
Of course, adamantly sticking to a plan made for the short/long term future would be challenging as unforeseen circumstances could that wasn’t thought about nor planned for could arise threatening the feasibility of the plans.
I’ve had to change already made plans midway through as things weren’t going as hoped/planned out and needed some changes to the original plan.
