For those that want to catch up:

Upload the Elements.jpg file from your computer to http://regex.info/exif.cgi

That will lead to a QR code that says
"Never underestimate the determination of a kid who is time-rich and cash-poor."

Just add the kid "arg" to ignore and let the adults continue

So how did we extract 2.7z exactly and who did it and how?

No-one has yet to my knowledge, there was a QR code hidden in elements.jpg leading to again.7z, another archive. I'm guessing the password for 2.7z will be found through these new clues.

Jealous of what that you got one part  out of EVERYTHING ? I solved one part too but didn't act like an arrogant prick like you. so jealous of what? being you? lol no

This has got to be the first time has ever accomplished anything

I have never seen anyone need to much attention at an anon forum

Wonder if that's a code on the rocket in between "ODYSSEY" and "8081-VA015", those weird patterns that look a little like space invaders?

Bullshit. This is what that site shows for the actual image.

Upload the one from your computer, not the one you copied from this thread. imgur.com strips EXIF data from everything uploaded. Stop being such a twat and verify things properly next time rather than half assing it.

One of the popular online QR readers was unable to read the original file as QR. I had to find a second scanning option than the one I've been using all game. That, combined with your initial taunting, made people assume you were lying and trolling.

Chill out.

Ps: we have txt also

“Never underestimate the determination of a kid who is time-rich and cash-poor.”

It's from a novel Little Brother (Pages : 380)  which is written by Cory Doctorow

You're right. I used the one from the thread because I'm at work and don't have the original on this computer. Didn't think the EXIF-stripping through. If you weren't acting so shady, though, I wouldn't have even bothered with trying to double-check a random zip file from a new user that was uploaded today...

So let's not get side tracked now. Whatever I get, I will share here.

Let's continue. OP will say if there was tampered with further clues and/or if it was solved.

I checked the EXIF data for elements.jpg, couldn't find anything related to the QR code.
Where did it come from?

arg is correct. using the exiftool command line:

exiftool -b -PhotoshopThumbnail Elements.jpg > Elements.psthumb.jpg

Presumably you can do something similar if you have photoshop.

Cheers got it, didn't need to use command line, it comes up as the thumbnail in photoshop elements!
