Delegates are the full nodes.

But would it be possible to restore my ARK balance from those "words" that I've written down while creating a wallet there?

what is the address? we can check it for you, or just go to https://explorer.ark.io and paste your address in the search box to see if you are still getting some of the moola

They are the first to be in the "Powered by ARK" program (https://ark.io/powered-by-ark), but they have a weird name! It's hard to even google about them without being introduced to street racing nad NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems)!
But right now we don't even have gaming on desktop, we'll have to wait a lot for mobile gaming in ARK!

agree, indeed that sounds strange but it seems like there's no question about it anymore. maybe they think is reasonable, people are waiting mobile gaming which was released and develop it

There is no wallet.dat files for ARK wallets. Wallet.dat files are for coins that require blockchain syncs like btc/eth. ARK wallets are syncless and do not require you to download the entire chain, making everything fast and painless. You only need to save your passphrase. Your passphrase is your access to your coins, nothing is stored in the ARK wallet, everything is on the blockchain and can be accessed anytime/anywhere using your passphrase. You can download at https://ark.io/wallet

My advice should be to get used to backing up any wallet especially with large assets because if you lose it will be very confusing and there is definitely no way to open it

And since Vista are not supported by Microsoft anymore, you'd better upgrade soon before you start holding crypto-assets in this PC.
It's more likely that a Vista PC will be infected by a virus since it's not being patched anymore.
