Rare for rich people since they can afford to lose more than that and they cannot follow it even if they promise to have proper financial plan on gambling especially when they are been much enjoying on what he do. For other have enough money then provably its hard for them to lose that and they are more aware that they should not spend any larger than that since they might go broke with that.
Those aware that they should not spend more money than that will not try to exceed the limit because they are not thinking about making money from gambling. They cannot afford to lose large amounts of money, so they always stay within their limits. Having a winning target that must be achieved will feel more difficult because we face loss that may come to us more often than wins. It's time for us to realize this and only gamble with enough money and don't have a winning target.

~snip~
A budget for a month with 500$ as bet I think it is pretty normal for a gambler who gambles twice or once a month only. He can still achieve good amount of money, if he is not so greedy but then I think if someone has this limit it means that they are just gamble for fun or maybe he is a seasoned gambler he know his limit same as to his capacity to gambler . For me, I would also limit myself to around 100$ a month.
I use probably less than $75 a month because that's the amount I can afford. I also don't try to deposit any other money, especially if I lose control. I still often experience loss of self-control, which causes me almost to lose all the money I have. And if that happens, I prefer not to gamble for a while to lower my emotions so I don't keep remembering the moment. But I could only gamble a few times a month, so I don't need much money to gamble once. After all, I gamble just for fun.

~snip~
Yes and I think maybe it's only for people who have a large income like for example conglomerates who want to try their luck at the gambling table, it makes sense as you said only for the big guys. But I will also add a little maybe there are also some people who have ordinary income but can gamble with a budget of that size, do you know how they do that? for an addicted person it is very possible to do anything just for the sake of gambling, and maybe even though that person does not have a large income but they have other ways such as selling all the assets they have or even committing criminal acts to get a lot of money and gamble. If someone has the courage to do something like that then surely his addiction will increase and in the next few days it is very likely that he will bring much more capital, and yes I said that person soon might be stressed or even suicidal.

I think that amount is quite rare for gamblers to spend, and yes it is a gamble so it is very important to put very strict limits, rather than you end up stressed or in debt. So the point is to gamble with the intention of having fun - just fun.  Don't set any targets even if it's only $10 because to get even this small amount you might end up spending $1000.
Those who have a lot of money can gamble for a long time and will not think about how much money they have used to gamble or how much they have left because they must have deposited an amount they think is enough to gamble that day. A gambling addict will use unusual methods to get their money and may use the methods you have mentioned. The important thing is, if they have money, they will do anything, so they will do something difficult for others to understand. And it's true that will only increase the level of gambling addiction to a very serious level.

We must avoid stress or get into debt because it is a big mistake if we experience it just because of gambling. It's better to start now by making clear boundaries and trying not to cross them so we don't experience difficulties or experience defeat.

I have heard and read about people gambling because they had no source of income,  a job or they wanted to add gambling as part of their streams of income. Whatever your category the bottom line is that we all gamble to make money though some group claim it's mainly for fun. But who would want to be losing money all in the idea of catching fun!

There are gamblers that don't place their bet not until they have gotten a certain amount as their potential win. Some do this based on their financial challenge with the anticipation that just one win they may get on such amount is a life changer for them.

My main focus on this thread is in this question: as a gambler do you place your bet according to the weight of your financial need or you're always okay with whatever amount that comes out as potential win no matter how small amount?

as you can see, putting weight in your bet depending in your financial need is something that proves you being a gambling dependent .and that means your type is what we can see a regular user and turns addicted.
don't gamble depend on your need mate, instead gamble because you can feel your luck and you are ready to lose if not.
that is the mentality we must have before dealing in gambling.

Set a higher winning amount for a certain time, isn't a good practice. Cause for that, you need to continuously rollover until reached the milestone which force you to take high risk what causes lose! Better practice is, always set lower your winning amount, keep patient and try to selft control , learn from pasts and then fine go ahead. Moreover, it is better to roll over on few selected game rather than keep playing for hours randomly. Cause thus playing more and more could result lost due to several attemptions of recovery. So i try to follow this rule

I also think like this, on many occasions I have given my point of view, which is quite large compared to what the thread means, because it is my point of view regarding my experiences, and that is something that It has stopped me from making profits a lot, and I have been aware of everything, but for me it is much better that I do not set objectives or goals that are so high because by not following those goals that are not so high either, it can make me lose, it is something that could I talk a lot, but I know what has happened to me, especially in a game where I consider myself good, like in craps and poker, in poker because sometimes things don't go the way you want, even in craps Only that in craps I have control over what I will do with my bet, how much money I will put in and how much I can get in a session, a session for me is not determined by time, but until I consider that it is good and that it is good to leave it. So, because I'm going to have to try playing dice for half an hour, if in less than half an hour if I play badly or make a mistake I can be left without my balance, and that's not the idea either, the idea is that I can win something for continue increasing the balance, which is very difficult.

However, I can think that when there are many things to do in the casino, I can say that per day I can do a goal higher than what I could set as a goal, but on another day I can do very little, something that may not be very significant. but well, then these types of things are the ones that I can't figure out, because I see it as something where I can make a mistake, and if I make a mistake then I can't recover, because if things don't turn out well for me it's worse because I can lose more than I gained in my previous session, so when I see that I lose very often I just don't play anymore and that happens to me a lot in trading as well, it's something that disappoints me and I stop trading and wait until I feel good, until a problem has happened to me little anger.

It's rare for people to have a budget of $500 a month to gamble. If so, how much does he earn a month? But it can also happen to people with very large incomes. However, achieving the winning target every day is not easy because it means we have to prepare a large amount of money to gamble, where the result is that we may experience many losses before we can achieve the winning target. You already know that gambling is entertainment, and to win, it depends on profits and also your ability to analyze if you choose sports betting. Achieving the winning target also takes time, even though we don't know when to win.

But if his winning target is not high and is around $10, maybe he can achieve it, but still it is not easy. To get that $10, how much money do we have to use to gamble?

Adding to that, possible that they are also experienced gamblers who knows how to control their emotions, it's hard to limit yourself as there are many lapses that can happen while playing, but for experienced gamblers who already set up the amount of money that they will use when playing, they are good to go, either they reached the set limit in the amount of winning value or they already reached the amount of they are capable to let go during that gambling sessions.

Sometimes, a winning limit might be helpful in preventing you from getting addicted. Let's suppose that your bankroll is about $500 per month for gambling, and you also understand that losses in gambling are inevitable and one simply cannot keep winning, but, you keep a target for yourself for every day, like $30 or something, which is your winning amount limit and once you achieve that limit every day, you stop gambling right at that moment.

This thing can help someone stay safe from becoming greedy and losing what they might have won just now and we know that this thing happens a lot in gambling where one might have won something but they don't get satisfied and they keep playing to win more but eventually lose what they've won.

Haha.
With $100 in my gambling account, rest assured that I will play with this money for six whole months assuming I win nothing, and with $500 In my gambling account, I  will play gambling for 1 year straight assuming I win nothing ..

This is not exaggeration, I am pretty much serious and it's very possible for my kind of gambler, this is because, gambling is not a source of income for me, I have my personal business and sometimes, I stay as long as one whole month without having time for gambling, and my gambling strategy have always been using very small amount of money to chase big wins, that is; I chase high odds/multi bets with small amount of money like $0.5 to $1, it's always very hard to win but when ever I win, it's always a reasonable amount of money,  and even the loss does not give me any concerns since they all are relatively very tiny amount of money .

I think that when a gambler has the mindset that he needs to have a winning amount target, he may eventually become addicted. Because we cannot say how much we will win in gambling,  we can experience winning here without knowing when it will happen. That's why most people rely on luck because there is no technique here in playing gambling, so it cannot be considered a source of income because luck is the only reason why we win here as a casino player in gambling.

Soon as I get my first Lambo  Cool I would start acting more sensible from that point on the basis I know have more to lose by not being cautious then otherwise before.   Actually getting to the point of being that rich is unlikely but still possible if you consider lottery type wins, over the course of your life sooner or later it can occur.   Once you have the win dont presume you will always be as lucky and be more cautious from that point on seems fair enough and grateful.
The only gambling game that gives us the opportunity to get fantastic prizes is the lottery, It's not easy to get it but the opportunity is still there as long as we have the raffle ticket, so to maintain this opportunity regularly buying raffle tickets is what we have to do, and if we get a fantastic prize which can change life, it is better to reduce gambling activities, we only play with small portions of money and time just to channel the desire to gamble, no longer because we hope to get big because the chance of losing is very open considering that we already have a large amount of money the big part of winning the lottery and can make us lose control a little if we don't limit our play.

Fixing the target in the gambling is not the wrong one,but you need to spend the time for the same.If the gambler fix the target and creates the tactics for the same, the probability of winning the game will be more. And the target should not be fixed based on the loss amount,so it may eventually made you gambling addict in certain point. When the gamblers experienced the winning without applying of the tactics,it may leads to the gambling addiction. The reason for the win is the luck, but they will thought of big luck with them.So they keep continue the game till they lose the entire money they had won from the game.

Setting up a target/limit on both winning and losing combined with time management will be better. Having winning target is better than not having it at all, it helps to control our gameplay because without having a limit then we may force ourselves to keep playing because of our "greed" when we always feel "never enough". The target must be reasonable of course, something like 2x or 3x of our starting bankroll is enough. If we are lucky enough to win more than what we set in the beginning, simply withdraw our deposit + target profit or maybe all then take a rest for a while.

I would say the different because setting up limit would really be resulting for you to play even more specially if you dont able to hit up that winning amount limit then for sure you would really be making out further deposits on the time that you do saw your balance had completely depleted out on which it is really that something a very common scenario on which most gamblers would be doing specially to those who come after on making money and not just for leisure things. It all starts about the motive and your intents on the first place because if you are really that playing for money or profits then it would becoming you that too desperate on reaching out that  goal or target but if you are playing for fun then you could simply quit on the time that you had lost it all.  Gambling winning limit is really that sky is the limit on which people are naturally greedy on which it would really be just that normal that they would really be pushing forward as long they do see that they have the chance on making more money and we know that greed is always been that good on that particular time.
I have to quote out a lot of other members who were mentioned in your comment including myself because if you have taken time to read my comment you will already know that we are both in the same opinion on the risk assessment of setting limits for gambling because the results are not determined by you but the casino and the probability systems in place which are most times set to favour the house against the gambler.

So we have to have that settled in our mind before we consider putting any limit because it outcome is more negative than it is positive in the real sense, Let's see how the discussion goes with other users who may have different lines of thought.

He probably gets addicted yeah, when he sets a goal in gambling like for example deciding to stop when he wins $100k. It mostly depends on luck here and the likelihood of that happening is pretty hard. Most likely he'll end up losing his initial capital and he might even develop a addiction if he becomes too dedicated to winning that money that he set.

I mean, the possibility of a professional player achieving that goal is relatively higher and feasible but for a newbie it can be extremely hard. I would say the chances of reaching the set limit are around 1% for a newbie but could be around 10% for a pro player. Smiley

If someone targets themselves for a certain amount of winnings, this will actually be a thing that will make them an obsessed person and I dare guarantee that they will not enjoy gambling because they are gambling only for the target they want to achieve and of course this is not something good.
Not only about addiction but the risk of losing is getting bigger in this case even though gambling defeat can be said to be one of the things that is certain but when coupled with obsession and profit targets in every gambling that is done this will make them experience greater defeat in terms of the impact produced.
Mostly when you playing just for the fun of it,  why then do you need to set a winning limit for yourself,  and setting such bars to be reached will ultimately lead you to addictions because you will be very busy chasing the winning by all means and this is not a healthy gambling practice.

Because there are some days,  the odds will just be against the gambler and no matter how you stress it you still end up with loses,  and in such days what is required of the gambler is to take the lose and walk away with enough break to wind off the experience,  because no gambler can set his amount of winning in a bet since he doesn't decide the outcome of the games.

You need to be careful because it's a sign to be a gambling addict if you deposit more money and you angry after you lose all of your money. Try to learn if gambling isn't for making money, if you think 15% of your income is big for you, you can reduce it to 5% or lower. In case you lose, it will not hurt you.

Remember, curing a gambling addict is really hard, prevention is better.

Yes, that's right, when we get angry because we lose it usually makes us deposit more money to play again and again, and when we get more angry we will lose self-control and increase the bet continuously in the hope that one win will return everything, but that is a stupid act and way which is great for spending money faster. I've experienced that, and spent my entire monthly salary in one night, but I've given up and don't want to do it again. This is very bad for me because I don't have any more money until next month. But that's in the past, I don't want to be stuck there
There are very few cases of being able to think freely and escape the narrow area of thinking about winning and losing in gambling, you may be a lucky case, not stuck and free from chaotic thinking in gambling while others still maintain a gambling regimen to this day, I have even seen a few people who have lost count of their failures. Their life is simply that of a person converting their labor into gambling expenses and repeating it every day, I felt that they understood the evil of gambling but the light and a warm embrace to pull them back didn't seem to exist.
You're exploring compulsive gaming's psychological depths, which is intriguing. This involves mental health, social training, and even death fear, not only odds. I know folks that play games because they feel good right quickly, while knowing how dangerous it is. They work hard to spend money, knowing they are doing nothing, like Sisyphus in modern times.

The light, pleasant hug you describe is hard to experience due to brain chemistry entrapment. Neurotransmitters like dopamine, which promote euphoria and reward, impair cognition.

Lets face it: gamblers have a statistically low chance of breaking this loop. The "lucky case" you described will likely happen again. Thus, this should not be seen as a bad habit but as a complex issue that requires counselling and money education.

Well that's right, as we know in general, if anyone comes with a target to win then surely the results will actually reverse that is not the victory they get but instead defeat with an unexpected amount. That's right, gambling is just an act of having fun and enjoying all the rounds that are there, but for those who come with the intention and obsession to win I think it will not apply and obviously instead of feeling pleasure but instead slumped with all the losses they experience. It's like they went fishing but in the end they became the bait.

Yes and indeed the obsession that they carry indirectly has made them experience too many defeats there, just like obsessed people who always want to go there with a very strong goal. We must realize that it is very wrong if you put great hopes from gambling, how can you want to get something for sure but based on luck alone, it's ridiculous guys you should immediately realize and go to rest your mind brain.
