Welcome to the forum but I would plead you don't be in a haste to start investing in buying of coins yet but you should rather invest both your time and resources to acquiring the right knowledge of the field you're about getting into, as that also gets you prepared mentally, emotionally and psychologically ahead of your journey in the crypto space.
Always remember to use the decentralized exchanges and also to use the cold wallet and remember never to share your security key, as if not your key? Not your coins

perhaps, crypto investing is;
- too risky
- stressful (emotional stress)
- but of course, it was profitable if managed properly

What you need is to carry over these things and keep working on your investment and knowledge. Investing in crypto now is too easy, there are a lot of reliable and trusted exchanges available today that make you no worry about where to buy as long as it was available in your place. But, I have to said that spend your money wisely and just follow this golden rule "Buy low and sell high".

One thing they don't understand is that it's part of the process where the market has a correction/dumping/bear market. This should be their start investing because at the given price it's in $16,800 at the moment whereas the ATH was beyond $60k. Imagine how far it will go if there's another bull run again in the future? So why doubt that much when investing Bitcoin is intended for a long term.

Firstly as a beginner you have to know that bitcoin is volatile, It is a decentralized currency , which the market price can never be predicted. If you want to invest in bitcoin it will be good to know more things about bitcoin first.
The first question you need to ask yourself what is the reason why you want to invest bitcoin, and if your answer is to get rich then you are going in the wrong direction, if you are having in mind to invest in bitcoin to depend on it as source for living, then you are not doing right thing. Investing in bitcoin is sweet when you don't put mind to depend to depend on it.

BTC is the coin you should begin with. For many, that's where the investment in cryptocurrencies should end as well. After the merge, Ethereum has become an even more centralized and restrictive digital asset whose blocks are compliant with the OFAC Sanctions List. That's not the ethos that Bitcoin introduced to this economy. BNB is a centralized coin that belongs to an exchange that was involved in the recent controversy surrounding FTX. If you jump in the market without learning or experience you will definitely face the problem of funds lost.
Like if you want to become a trader so first you should learn about your feild.

However, if you are going to invest in Bitcoin, please, ensure at first about these at least:
- You already understood the risk and profit probabilities of Bitcoin investment
- You have free money for investing in Bitcoin, so you are not using money that you want to use for something else, daily needs, or savings. Just use the free money
- You already learn about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, exchanges, and how the best way to invest and save assets. Nver fall into scams to avoid the lost of money.
