This is good news.. I thought they had done this a few months ago... but I think this is general crypto advertising, not just Bitcoin. Hope to see legal and interesting things instead of scam advertisements. If it is for decent real products and companies, the ads on the website will not be so bad. Cool

Google banning the ads to begin with was due to many scammers and dodgy sites that are using bitcoin as a way to steal people's money, and setting a bad example and a negative idea about bitcoin and crypto in general, and by banning these kind of ads even though not all of them are so, we have seen less and less scams involving bitcoin, and i am afraid that with them lifting it we might see them come back even though it was not the best solution for it.

Not your Keys, Not your Bitcoins
Found an article on Business Insider India. Not 100% if it is a legit source but Business Insider is a reputable news outlet. These are the leads:

"Google is allowing crypto companies to advertise on its network again starting today, August 3.
The largest ad network in the world had banned crypto ads in March, earlier this year.
The new policy is only open to crypto wallets based out of the US and registered with the FinCEN."

To be honest, banning Bitcoin ads didn't help too much. Because I was still hearing about some people who were still having problems with the same frauds. So this means that banning these ads is not a permanent solution to this. Some other things should be thought of. Otherwise, we won't be able to prevent these scammers using ads to draw people's attention.

I think it's just a rumor. I can't find any evidence to verify it's real. This isn't big news. Bitcoin can't hit ATH with unconfirmed rumors like this.
Bitcoin hit new ATH due to Elon musk rumor and playing around with his meme,it mean many people is believing a rumor so bad.

It's good if Google didn't ban Bitcoin again, but some problem of Bitcoin doubler, ponzi and pyramid scheme will be more bigger than current condition.

Why was it banned in the first place? I have forgotten the reason for the ban but the only thing that I can remember was that it was a stupid reason or something like that. Also, I feel like this isn't a special thing, I mean the ones that make benefits from this ads are companies that have the money to be on top of the search bar.

I already see many crypto-related ads in some of the sites that I regularly visit and I am sure they can be coming from GoogleAds. Let's see if there will not be an avalanche of scammy smelling ads because of the lifting of this restriction or should Google be more aggressive in its vetting process so scammers can have a hard time getting their ads approved? As for legit crypto-based platforms advertising their products or services then this can be a big opportunity to spend money and get results.

is this news valid, and can be trusted, because now many are posting that it is not, if indeed this is news that is valid and can be trusted, it is likely that bitcoin will get better, and the price of bitcoin will continue to creep up, because if google has allowed bitcoin advertising, it is certain that even Google will benefit from bitcoin..

I have to agree with jackg, just keep the ban. I don't like censorship, but if you think about it, the only people paying for Google ads to use Bitcoin are crypto companies with zero interest in helping Bitcoin and 100% interest in making money. Sadly, most of this making money concept comes at the expense of users.

If people want to learn about Bitcoin, it should be from wiki, or solid educational channels. Not from clicking a Google ad.

If this turns out to be true then good news for us.

By the way Google reversing it's decision on this matter is a good sign where crypto is headed, but what made them change their minds on this

As title says,

I have tried to find and verify this news from other source, but still I am not getting anything.
I did a Google search and this seems to be over a months old news but it's terms to show ads are quite demanding, for those targeting the United States your need to know this
  • Advertisers must request new Cryptocurrency Exchanges and Wallets certification with Google
  • Ads for initial coin offerings (ICO), DeFi trading Not allowed
  • Be duly registered with
    (a) FinCEN as a Money Services Business and with at least one state as a money transmitter; or
    (b) a federal or state chartered bank entity.

Google ads are getting circulated very commonly. Earlier the ban of ads by Google was a big speculative thing in the past. It made a big impact over the market of cryptocurrencies on the whole. During those days more and more number of fake projects reached the market and thats the major reason why Google made immediate action on cryptocurrency ads ban. Now the firms registered on FINCEN only were allowed on Google ads which is a good move.

Were they ever banned?
As I remember Google (alongside a lot of other services) banned advertisement of scams including the ICO and all the alternative names for token scams, cloud mining scams, malwares disguised as wallets, pump and dump groups, ... Any legitimate business could still advertise.
Same like China. They only banned ICO to make barriers on scammers. They want to restrict access of scammers to investors.

I buy Bitcoin and hold it so I don't care about bans from companies. Because they can not get my Bitcoin. Will ban from Google can damage institutional investment trend? Will people believe in CBDCs more than in Bitcoin?

CBDCs borrows idea and technology from Bitcoin & altcoins to help governments minting their money more easily and save production cost. The cost will be smaller than printing fiats in factories. They will be able to more easily trace flows of CBDCs through ledger. It will be easier than with banks.

Leading Crypto Sports Betting & Casino Platform
The reason why they "banned" Crypto currency advertising was because they received so many complaints about ICO scams that happened during the ICO Boom period. That ban and followed by others on large Social media platforms, effectively stopped those scams from destroying the Crypto currency scene.

I have read that "screening" will be done on Crypto based applicants that wants to advertise on Google and they will only allow reputable and well known companies (KYC applicants) to advertise on their platforms.  Wink

That's great, but what do they mean by "Google Ads for Bitcoin"?
Is Bitcoin a company or a product to be advertised? Grin
I assume that they mean companies that work in the cryptocurrency industry and use Bitcoin.
It would be great if all the shitcoin/token scams are still banned from using Google Ads.
Some shady crypto exchanges are using Bitcoin, but they are also heavily promoting shitcoins and tokens.
Are they allowed to advertise on Google Ads?

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
Visited the actual site of Google and haven't found that right image above. Looks like a shill but to be honest it's a good one. This kind of things do matter but hoping google will be true to what they states.

I think it's just a rumor. I can't find any evidence to verify it's real. This isn't big news. Bitcoin can't hit ATH with unconfirmed rumors like this.
It's just a rumor but Google's decision change everytime maybe they saw something bullish coming ahead again and they allowed it.

You own the pen
It can only be bullish if they’re allowing exchanges & reputable companies to advertise again. Hopefully it brings lots more average joes into bitcoin because we need retail to flow in to restart this bull market.

Maybe this one is just for the start and the next thing will be a big one since they already give bitcoin some green light here, they won't take it back as soon as they removed their ban on ads. took them years to do so but at least right now we can expect that more ads are coming but we also need to consider that scammers will also take advantage of this current lifting that's why we need to make sure about the site we are about to enter and their offer might temp us to invest in their scam so be careful guys.

I've also read this tweet just a while ago but I cannot confirm whether this tweet is based on reliable information or just rumor. Documenting Bitcoin itself did not cite the source. Neither did it even expound more on it. It could have referred to Google's lifting of the ban on cryptocurrency exchanges and wallet advertisements, which happened a couple of months ago.

Anyway, not a big deal to me. Google ads is full of phishing sites and scams. Not only do they allow them, they are also slow in removing them following reports.

The market is harmed by those news and changes in policies from both governments, big companies but they change their policies. Up and down, ban and ban lift.

I've never worried about these bans because I know they will lift unreasonable bans later. Governments need tax, ban lift together with more regulations help them. Companies need income, ban lift help them.

Together, we will see more bans and ban lifts with the growth of law regulations and bigger adoption on Bitcoin and crypto.
