Can we officially say this is not a rumor at this point?  Are people getting it just not US group buys so far?
Have you seen an official announcement?

Group buy in Chinese section also confirmed the rumor. Seems like 5 days left to claim.

Oh, mining is like punishing yourself, everyone here throws cash at rumors, websites, and 3D models hoping that company X will deliver Y, which has ###TH/s hashrate (that sounds kinda good right now), problem is it'll show up in two months.  And as it turns out, next week, and every week after that, company X + timePassed will suddenly hit the market with promises that sound as good if not better.

I heard about BTC years ago, I got into it right when AsicMiner started putting hardware online.  I realized very quickly that you have to find your niche in this market and that late adopters are more or less screwed unless you get lucky.  At the same time, I'm not complaining, this is a microcosm of life and gives a pretty good look at the fact that some folks win big (like AsicMiner) while most lose hard.  The fact that anyone with $1M USD can totally f' with BitCoin is both the most exciting thing about trading and the worst possible thing for any form of mainstream adoption.  The system is so flawed that the gold rush is still on - long-term sustainability has yet to be proven.

But we keep coming back for more.  It's fun for geeks like us. Smiley

Somehow I didn't think it could be true, but I'm a n00b so I decided to do some calculations.   Wow, definitely not going to be buying an ASIC anytime soon.

This difficulty is slowly getting insane and your 15% was quite spot on...

All difficulty changes in 2013:

blockNumber   difficulty   ChngeinDiff   %chg   Date
215712    3,249,549.58     269,912.97     +9.06%   1/8/2013
217728    2,968,775.33     (280,774.25)   -8.64%   1/23/2013
219744    3,275,464.58     306,689.25     +10.33%
221760    3,651,011.63     375,547.05     +11.47%
223776    4,367,876.00     716,864.37     +19.63%
225792    4,847,647.15     479,771.15     +10.98%
227808    6,695,826.28     1,848,179.13     +38.13%   3/24/2013
229824    7,672,999.92     977,173.64     +14.59%
231840    8,974,296.01     1,301,296.09     +16.96%
233856    10,076,292.88     1,101,996.87     +12.28%
235872    11,187,257.46     1,110,964.58     +11.03%
237888    12,153,411.70     966,154.24     +8.64%
239904    15,605,632.68     3,452,220.98     +28.41%   6/5/2013
241920    19,339,258.27     3,733,625.59     +23.92%
243936    21,335,329.11     1,996,070.84     +10.32%
245952    26,162,875.68     4,827,546.57     +22.63%   7/11/2013
248417    31,256,960.72     5,094,085.04     +19.47%   7/25/2013

Only one decrease all year... not looking good for the simpleton miner!

Yup, even with a GENEROUS 15% per 11 day diff increase these things will only make .44 BTC in their lifetime ( starting at currently difficulty of 31.3m)

The difficulty will increase 8000% in less than a year? eek!

Bring on the 3,147,570,617 difficulty!

I'll stick to mining alt-coins and exchanging them lol

Canary could you please contact Friedcat or Rockxie, seems like the promotion end at Jul 31st.

If ppl purchase same amount of miners, you get the handling fee doubled, right? win-win

A end date Sad.  I think we would all pay more handling to get in on the deal.  Please confirm deal Smiley

I don't know what will happen for US groupbuys, however, I bought another 5 USB miner for 0.5 in total from a Chinese reseller for the 5 ones I bought a month ago. LOL.

Hopefully, there will be good news for the groupbuyers.

there is also a chinese shop online selling them for 0.6 and probably 0.1 for follow up orders....the whole new sales policy is still a mess...you either give the same prices for all resellers or you dont...you cant just give others better prices and the rest left out...we ll see how it goes the following days
