The first question is, where would that kid get the money? $8000 seems not an easy amount to earn, let alone waste it to gambling. That amount is like a few months' net salary, and then here's a kid who would willing to lose it in gambling without any hesitation.
Well, it's not right to get angry at him, maybe he has rich parents. Kids doesn't know the worth of money until their the ones earning it.
Me? I started gambling when I was around 14, but that was just a small amount. I'd spend $1-2 dollar in the local carnival.
You have a nice question at the start of your write up and also a nice explanation too. Gambling having a quiet general age restriction of 18+ send a very strong and valid message. Some one that isn't mature enough to make the right decision for himself especially in financial aspects isn't fit to gamble.  Firstly Teens and age groups below 18 are not financially independent to be allowed to gamble.

The money you spend on gambling has to be properly managed or else gambling addiction could be the next result. Some teens don't do any work and rely on money given to them probably by their parents and gambling with such money would be a wrong habit.

Although I would like to highlight the income earned in this case which I think is too large but ultimately the focus I would like to discuss is about the vulnerable age that is done when gambling.

By looking at this, of course, the concern is when children at an age who are not supposed to do gambling even make this an everyday game which in my opinion is too difficult to digest in the current conditions. It is true that gambling can be done by anyone but on the other hand for teenage children like this it feels too risky if it continues to be allowed without adult monitoring.
Apart from gambling in the end must have logical thinking and still maintain common sense, things like this must also be done responsibly and in a more mature way so that we avoid addiction and often we also know that adults alone have a lot of trouble doing this and addiction is unavoidable how young children do things that endanger them like this.

Honestly I'm quite curious about how a child that age can have $8000, is he a rich kid? but I don't really believe it considering he dropped out of school, but maybe it's true.
Forget about that, if I'm not mistaken I started my involvement in gambling at the age of around 20, yes I've only known gambling for four years, my involvement began when I saw one of my friends who was not too close to me who was gambling, initially I asked him to teach me how to make a deposit at an online casino, initially he refused my proposal but I forced him and then he said something like this "if something happens to your life then don't blame me".

Initially I didn't really care about it but after more than a year of gambling I started to feel that something was wrong, often I had many problems with finances which without realizing it turned out that I was trapped in a cycle of addiction which caused many bad disasters in my finances but thankfully now I have recovered.

On the other hand, I think there is no benefit to getting involved in gambling at an early age, the positive side of gambling is just entertainment and you will only be able to feel it if from the start you know about what and how gambling really is, and considering how unstable a child who is still a minor is, I think it is too dangerous for their future if they get involved in gambling at an early age.

At what age did you start gambling and how was the experience?

If i don't forget, i think i started to gamble through a friend then when i was in school, all they will be telling me is to go along with them to watch ball and then also branch the casino house to gamble, because as at then, the online gambling is not that common as we have it today, my early days gambling was nothing than just a loss of money into gambling because am only doing it for fun sake and not for me to understand the wining pressure.

Is there any benefit that comes with starting gambling at a very young age?

Yes, the experience.

Participating in gambling is punishable by law in my country and we cannot participate in gambling at will.  But in my case, I didn't participate in gambling until I was a full-fledged young man; I placed my first gambling bet when I was 21 years old. However, I did online gambling two years ago; I was intrigued by the interest of my friends, and I participated in gambling out of curiosity. But now I understand how much gambling participation during student life is responsible for disrupting studies. If I had not participated in gambling at a young age, my studies would have been able to be carried out properly.
I found this comment so interesting and I don't mind knowing which country you are from, for such a government that enforces its policies on gambling banned on it citizens must be an active and performing government system, in my country gambling is unregulated and a lot of kid's have become gambling addict's due to this unwarranted popularity of gambling house and unrestricted operations of even more gambling houses, this has become the trends and other of the day and a lot is beginning to be effected alongside with this development of gambling accessibility without restrictions.

As for me, I started gambling full time when I came to the university, and at that point, I engaged so much in slot games because we have a slot machine in our school NACA centres, and loads of other games too.

I don't see any benefit from gambling at a young age, rather I see danger even because I know for sure that that's just the person exposing their selves to possible addiction, at such a very young age, their logics around things are very limited so they will not spot issues around gambling wrongly, they may not have the needed control rather you see them have more of an emotional game than they would with their logical mind to gamble and so I cannot support of identify any good benefits from gambling for people at such young age except for a few lucky.
I was heavily influenced by gambling when I first started, and I was a little over 20 years old then and I had very little money in my pocket. This was the main reason, I wanted and perceived the game as a way to earn money and tried to take it seriously. But how can you take it seriously when luck itself chooses the winner, I realized this only a few years later after a lot of experience and it's good that I did not lose much during this time. As for adolescence, looking at modern games and how you can buy keys to cases in which weapons of varying rarity are located, teenagers can already have a feeling of greed there. Maybe some of them even tried to steal money from their parents. But I also saw very smart teenagers who found different vulnerabilities and they managed to earn a little on this, but that was a long time ago.

Can’t remember when exactly but I had the opportunity to learn about gambling during my school days, I will not blame this on peer pressure because at the moment I’m already educated to make decisions. I’m totally against peer pressure but mine started as a result of curiosity, wanted to test and play as others no hard feelings attached. I also don’t support teenagers gambling at a young age especially involving crypto, the person is making a mistake why? Storing crypto at the moment sound more reasonable likewise trade. Anyone can gamble using crypto but the moment there’s no investment they’re missing out, gambling funds is not reliable. I hope parents learn to take good care of their kids as expected so we don’t have to hear stories like this.

Is there any benefit that comes with starting gambling at a very young age?
Maybe about life lessons. Realizing too early on how gambling can impact someone's mind and emotion at a very early stage of their lives. I've been there and done that and it's fun while it lasts. I cannot imagine how much money I've taken from my parents just to gamble at that age of my life. Well, that's the benefit that I can say about gambling at a young age, learning life lessons and understanding how tough it is to earn money that our parents have earned when we were there. The regret is always at the end after we realize that we did the wrong thing and we've done wrong to our parents.

The type of gambling that you were involved in was student-to-student gambling, which always disturbs and distracts students from their studies. All they think about is free space to go and gamble among themselves without even thinking about the consequences, and most times money that's needed for school bills will be spent on gambling.

During my junior high days, I was never distracted by gambling among my friends, but I know I have involved myself in a few games with them, but it was not a serious one. It's something I just know is common among student athletes, especially in middle school. If you have learnt your lesson now, at least you will use it to educate others that are close to you about the disadvantage.

I think that there are more disadvantages with starting gambling at a very early age than starting gambling at the point in your life where you are matured enough to make sure that you do not become addicted in the process. It is not like old people are not still at the danger of becoming addicts, but it will be more deadly for a youth to be an addict to gambling from a very young age because that can tarnish their future and ensure that they become very irresponsible individuals in anywhere they find themselves.
Older people in gambling may actually be able to control themselves better.

Going through OP's story, I can only picture in my mind a young child who lacked proper parental guidance. Child gambling is bad because children do not have that ability to handle losses, they don't even know how to manage money. The young gambler in the story  is already having a gambling problem. Right now, his source of income cannot be trusted because people faced with gambling problems can lie alot about how they raise money to gamble when in real sense they must have stolen some money, sold properties or done some unthinkable things to just to gamble. He needs help!

I started betting on sports as an adult in the university. I was able to gamble right because I was a full grown adult who knows how to put his emotions under control. Children will ruin their lives if child gambling becomes legal.

Xup ladies gents, it's a genuine question..

At what age did you start gambling and how was the experience?

You may likely want to find out why I am asking this question, well, today, I came across someone, a younger teenager who should be around 12 or 13, but he claimed to be 14, we got talking like we friends not minding I am very much older than him (my first daughter is 8 already)..

He's a school dropout, jobless, and claim to have lost over $8000 to gambling ever since he started, he's into crypto, so yeah, he said he plays mostly on crypto casinos online.

We've discussed extensively about underaged gambling on this board, but today, I was very surprised coming across this teenager who is already ruining his life with gambling at such a young age, I felt pity for him and very angry with him at the same time...
I asked if he has any investment in crypto or else where, he said no, that he is always gambling with any money comes his way... Is this a way to a good life?

Is there any benefit that comes with starting gambling at a very young age?
To your first question I will say that I have prepared to gamble since I was introduced to Bitcoin. I had never gambled before and gambling was one of my worst feelings. Currently I have screened from 27 to 28 years so I can say I have been involved in gambling since mid 26 years. Actually I have never gambled before I sometimes participate in sports betting online but just for fun.

In fact, gambling addiction in children may not be the goal of a good life. Maybe the child you see is not being cared for by his parents. His parents must see how he got addicted to gambling at such a young age. I can't imagine him losing $8,000 at such a young age. But he must get away from gambling now or he will sell all his father's property. This is happening all over the world where boys are attracted to gambling at a very young age and there are other reasons for this attraction from gambling companies advertising through various mediums including setting up roadside gambling platforms, all of which are causing children to become addicted to gambling at a young age. There are no benefits of starting gambling at an early age A child's life is completely ruined by gambling addiction at an early age.

At what age did you start gambling and how was the experience?
It was nice and that was long time ago and when I was a teenager with the influence of peers, relatives, everyone who also gambles.

Is this a way to a good life?
"What comes around, goes around"

Is there any benefit that comes with starting gambling at a very young age?
Sort of, I've got money to spend on but that also comes away quickly because I get it too quickly as well whenever I win.

I can't recall the age when I started gambling, but I'm very sure it was not when I was a minor; I should be around my 20s, which is very much reasonable for me, even as I was still hiding my gambling activity from my parent.

No benefit at all can come from gambling underage because at that stage there is more to be focused on than just gambling; besides, at that age the person has not started making money on their own, so what's the point of gambling with money that you can't account for?

There can only be a disadvantage to gambling underage than an advantage; how they bypass the age limit is something they should even be questioned for.

According to OP stories that people is jobless and only 14 years old but he has spend over than $8000 in gambling which make me wondering where did he gets all of those money and if he gets that from his parent then i assume his parent probably a rich people because in my country $8000 is huge amount of money and i think that kid in the serious level of addicted because he doesn't have any plan to stop gambling

In my opinion there was no benefit to know earily gambling and people who gamble should be at mature age this because from the mentally mature people is more good rather than still young or under age and for me personally i was starting to gambling while my age 18 years old and my first experience in gambling is come from playing traditional card

Well, in first place it is surprising that at that age (14 years) he already had 8k to lose gambling. I guess that he won them investing in Bitcoin or crypto, which is great, but very dangerous at that age. I have relatives a little younger than that, and although I think it could be good for them save some sats for the future, I wouldn't tell them about cryptos because they are not my sons/daughters and because it could lead to sad cases like the one shown in the OP.

It is already hard for legal age people to control their impulses, I don't want to imagine how tender minds like these ones could be destroy by a mindset like that. It is very important to respect development times so as not to cause havoc in the future.

OK during the time he has been gambling he has lost $8000 and since when did he start gambling was it over a year? How can an unemployed person play gambling? Did he work and then use his wages to gamble?

Do his parents still give him pocket money and then the teenager uses it to gamble? I feel sad to hear this story.

Is this a way to a good life?
Where can you judge that this is a good way of life? I still think gambling is a bad thing for teenagers.

Is there any benefit that comes with starting gambling at a very young age?
If we talk about benefits at a young age, it's still OK to say there are benefits...
If young people are already involved in gambling then there is misery.

Is there any benefit that comes with starting gambling at a very young age?

Not sure what age did I start gambling, but from what I recall, I might start when me and my friends will bring cards in my high school days and started to play poker. So pretty much at a young age. And then we move to sports betting, and that time we don't bet on sports shop or something, it's just 1:1 betting that's it.

I think one benefit if you started young in sports betting is that you learn the sports itself and somewhat you become a expert. And as you grow along, then you have that experience tuck under your belt and you can read teams already and which one to bet good specially if they are the underdog.
