I use atomic wallet too ,both mobile and windows version I think its safe if you get the setup file from official source or you can scan with your antivirus if you have one on your pc

It's quite easy to bypass a detection by Antivirus-Software by obfusication so AV-software doesn't protect you against everything and unlike the already in Windows integrated Windows Defender, 3rd party AV-solutions might even introduce additional vulnerabilities.
As Atomic Wallet should be quite trustworthy it makes much more sense validating that you're downloading it from the official website and maybe checking the SHA256-checksum (which shouldn't be necessary if you're downloading from the official website).

I got a msg when i tried to download and install Atomic Wallet onto my Windows 7 of Acer notebook. How do you think? Can i install this wallet?

This type of file can harm your computer. Do you want to keep attomicwallet.exe anyway? [KEEP] [DISCARD] tabs

You need to install from the official website. And there the file is called "atomicwallet". Your file is "attomicwallet". And in General it is better to install on the phone from the official app store.

yes it looks like the OP is downloading the wallet not on the official Atomicwallet site. The fact is that I tried downloading via cellphone (Google Play) without problems, even other users also think positively about this wallet. it's just that the OP is wrong in clicking on their website.

I also had this written, but my system is always afraid to run unknown files. It is difficult to say about this advantage or disadvantage, but nevertheless I downloaded and installed the Atomic wallet.

To feel safe, you must install a wallet from an official source. Carefully recheck everything so that later nothing regrets. For myself, I installed a mobile version of the wallet, which I am very pleased with.

I`m using atomic wallet for months, they even had nice bounty here on forum, now they moved it on bountyx. Nice wallet, they are very good and they have very hard working team, which is good thing, right? Constant upgrades, announcements, they are aiming to be one of the best crypto wallets, and maybe they will be, dont forget to buy some of their tokens.

I think you need to check your Anti-Virus there are some Anti-Viruses that make false alarm, a good example is Avast which I do not like, if you are sure you have downloaded the application from the right source or from the official website it is safe IMO

Its safe if you download it from the official source e.g atomic wallet very own website ,do not run the .exe file if its from another source because it might be a trojan file or virus

Even if you  downloaded this file from the official source, windows will give you warning eventhough it is safe.  Any executable file not recognized by window OS can give you this kind of warning.  Aside from that even if the executable file is clean but have too few download can also trigger this kind of warning.  In short, this warning is normal in windows environment with regards to any windows-unverified executable file.

Why are you trying to use the windows version? Do you know that you will have to sync the whole block chain for each coins you tend to use ? Why don't you just use the mobile wallet version its faster ,better and safer ,anyways just make sure that you download the PC wallet straight from atomic wallet website to avoid getting your PC hijacked

I think you do not need to worry and you can safely install a wallet on your computer. Often such situations also arise for the antivirus that you use, but I assure you that the Atomic project is a good project with a cool product and you should not worry about the integrity of your personal information on your device.

I had same experience and I was taken aback if I would still continue with what I am doing during that time, what I did was I use my mobilephone instead just to make sure the donwload would not compromise anything with my pc and of course my accounts. Everytime I received an alert sich that same warning I am started to get paranoid that perhaps if I will continue the dl sooner or later I will get hack so I just stop the dl at once.

No, it is only information that Microsoft doesn´t know the certificates. Since Atomic wallet is a small company, it will take a long time to get these certificates.  Sad

Atomic wallet has extensively advertised itself as a multicurrency wallet on both mobile and desktop. They might be thinking of earning from the fees of the internal exchange but still there operation and advertisement seems suspicious. I'd not trust a large amount to keep with them as they are more profit focused than anything else. It remind me of holywallet.

Where did you download it from? I hope from the official link? Did you check for SSH certification of the website before-hand?
Anyway, Chrome does acts like this when you try to download some particular wallets or miners. It's safe unless you know you didn't download it from a proper source.
Correct, just like other member experience, Chrome download miners wallet have a warning message and let user choose to keep or decline the file. Just make sure wallet is download from official website, use online virus scanner check the file, such as virustotal and kaspersky, after everything is pass then wallet is safe to installed.

I don't think it will harm your device since we very often see this notification with some file downloading sites. Anyway, you must consider checking the file authentication by any provided hash/PGP key. It would be better. I have heard about atomic wallet and I guess it is a trusted wallet.
