Honestly I have no real idea of what to do as it is still a couple of weeks away and a lot of speculating can happen between now and then. But one thing is for certain

a) have a gameplan
b) do not panic cause
c) shits gonna hit the fan, one way or another Wink

That's pretty tough decision you have got there. Monero is very good asset but an altcoin after all. You shouldn't have transferred all of the bitcoin in one instant, instead you could have chosen a wallet like electrum to x amount there and the rest one distributed over Monero and ltc. This increases your odds of not getting victimed in the split situation.

Monero is falling while Bitcoin is recovering. Bad idea.

You might have noticed that alts will fall much more than BTC in the last sub 2000 doomsday, so try to edge btc with alts might not be a good idea in the end of world scenarios

Funny to watch people caring so much about august 1st while Segwit is already accepted by most of the BTC miners.
Nothing is going to happen, everything is all right.

I mostly hold Ethereum and Bitcoin. I also hold some altcoins. All of my coins have gone up in value and I still have all of them because I like to hold them like that.

Good decision you select a good coin to transfer your bitcoin but my advice is that do not invest all in one altcoin try to distribute in 2 or 3 good and solid coin to decrease the amount risk. I also did the same I transfer my bitcoins to Litecoin, Dash Coin and Monero coin because these are the 3 I like the most.

in my opinion the price altcoin is directly dependent on the performance of the bitcoin and we can enjoy when there are a small percentage of the price obtained bitcoin as altcoin then the gain doubled, so that if disaster or panic prices whatever happens around August 1, some of the Alt would drop so much so that many people are selling it with the panic attacks, I believe most of them could never recover. then it's an opportunity to pick up some for 1 cent and hope everything is settled down it will come back to high prices again.

On august 1, bitcoin will split which the bitcoin will turn into two or slicing it as what I have heard. So it has a possibility to affect the price bitcoin will decrease and that is normal. We should be wise on how to depend on it, some people exchange bitcoin into other altcoins some also are withdrawing it then when is already in the dept they will convert again on it or cashin on it because they know it will rise again.

yes i agree with it on august 1 bitcoin will split in half if you don't have hard wallet to transfer it maybe the best thing to do is to buy altcoin or you may want to withdraw it if its not to big at all. Taking precaution on August 1 is all we can do not they say that after the segwit put to Bitcoin we still wait until the integration is finish so it may take a week or who even a month we still don,t know.
