https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-03-12/iceland-removes-krona-controls-more-than-eight-years-after-crash

Even though Iceland supposedly removes capital controls on the krona, they are buying up international krona to try to keep it stable at a set rate. I think the market should truly decide price which makes auroracoin a good alternative. When the next recession hits people will predictively flee to other alternatives and auroracoin will be there.

Here is a quote from article,

"The government also announced on Sunday that the central bank bought about 90 billion kronur ($834 million) at 137.5 krona per euro from remaining offshore holders of the currency to “safeguard the economy against monetary, exchange rate, and financial instability.” There now remains about 100 billion kronur in such holdings.
The krona traded at 114.95 per euro as of Friday.

Restrictions will still be in place for some of the funds that won’t sell the central bank their offshore kronur at 137.5 per euro. They have another two weeks to complete the transactions, the central bank said."

Could that see the ISK resume a downward trajectory?

Hopefully. That's at least the reason why I just bought me some more AUR today.

I'm definitely have to go to that gelato place and spend some of it.

I just bought ice cream and coffee at http://joylato.is/ with my Auroracoin.

Progress

Yes, it is progress.

But shouldn't the sticker in the window be in Icelandic first, with English as a second language?

After all, AUR is meant to be Iceland's national cryptocurrency!

The tourism industry is increasing a LOT in Iceland. It is also a great way to get most of the AUR moved back to Iceland. For tourists it should become more cheaper to buy AUR than ISK (in respect to transaction fees) and easier to carry. And then most Icelandic people speak English good enough to understand it.

I have just heard a rumor that Aube roracoin will a digital currency for Iceland in the future? I just want to know if it is true or false?
it seems that Price is quite high after this rumor releasing. Maybe I'm wrong.

The rumor is true Aube Roracoin it will be Greenlands national currency, and price will be 0.001 dollars. And that is quite high Tongue

The new wallet is great, it's really fast and the debug.log isn't bloated.

Really good job guys.

I second that, a massive improvement, well done devs!

How is the anonimity of this coin ?

Same as bitcoin, litecoin, Digibyte. All transactions are recorded in the blockchain and can be tracked.

Are there any plans on doing some basic wallet improvements?

The wallet takes like 10 minutes to start on a dualcore and writes ~700 MB of data in the debug.log each time it does.

This is one of the slowest wallet I have ever encountered.

The latest wallet, released a few days ago, should prevent that. https://github.com/aurarad/Auroracoin/releases

Awesome, thanks.

The windows wallet link in OP points to the previous wallet.

I've notified the team member responsible for that, thanks.
