No, on roughly the 1st of May AUR will hard-fork to multi-algo.
When did your coin copy Digibytes Multi-Algo? Is AUR the 2nd coin to fork to it?
First multi-algo was Huntercoin, with 90% of rewards mined using the Huntercoin game built in the wallet, 5% Scrypt, 5% SHA256d
Second was Myriad, with SHA256d, Scrypt, Groestl, Skein, Qubit
Third was Saffroncoin, with SHA256d, Scrypt, Blake256, Groestl, X11
Fourth maybe Parallelcoin...? Scrypt + SHA256
Fifth I think was Joincoin? WIth many algorithms
Sixth was DigiByte, the same algorithms copied from Myriad, but they used their own difficulty adjustment method.
Auroracoin will copy DigiByte, the same algorithms as MYR, plus DGB's difficulty adjustment.
We indeed used the repo of Digibyte to build our new codebase. We have done this with consent of the Digibyte team and are grateful for their cooperation. Meanwhile we also acknowledge that most of the Digibyte code has been provided by the Myriad team, so we are, by proxy equally grateful to them!
I like to repeat we chose this multi algo path because it seems to be the most stable, safe and fair option to distribute the Auroracoin ledger. Our main focus lies with general adoption of Auroracoin by the Icelandic people, we are not a coin that wants to re-invent the wheel al over, we want to provide the means to get a decentralized currency in the hands of Icelanders.
