Hello everybody,
I am an ADA fan and will be holding it for a long time. I don't think, in my opinion, other smart contract cryptos will be able to compete with it, but it's only my opinion.
Although I've heard recently about the AVAX project that seems a little bit interesting to me (I missed the ICO). Has anyone compared the 2? I basically find it interesting but I am definitely not buying the IOU at 6 dollars right now.
the first one I would like to congratulate you on because the ADA price went up before hardfork, but be careful after hardfork,
and the second for Cardano to date there are still no good projects besides Cardano for the same category, so AVAX is not a competitor

Thank you:) Although it's long term project so I'll try not to be verifying the price too frequently...

of course I prefer the cardano project (ADA) because in my opinion this project is clearer than the AVAX project which is not clear and has no concept that can provide solutions for many people because actually coins will have a price when there are people who need it so that there are people who buy and make the price go up.

For cardano, we all know it, the potential coin for long term, which has so many exchanges bring very good technology.
And what about avax?? this is unfamiliar and when i try search it in coinmarketcap this project is untracked coinmarketcap.com/currencies/avalanche/
So both cannot be compared, cardano win for all things

We can't compare them of course because they're on the same level. But we can look for as an example what can AVAX (sometimes they call it AVA, and I don't like it, it sounds like ADA) potentially do as a project that Cardano is not projecting to do. This is basically my question, but I don't have the answer yet.

Cardano is officially part of the top 10 cryptocurrencies in the world. And for Avax, is it this coin?
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/avalanche/

this two cannot be compared at the moment, or within foreseeable future, since one is established and reputable project, and the other is just after ICO, with no product at all, could be promising, but then compare it with promising projects, not with established ones, would not say that AVAX will not be successful, but it has a long way to go before it can be compared with ADA, or some other top 10-20 project

Ofcourse we are not buying  the IOU at 6 dollar,  i also missed the ico , but think that price on exchange will be much better, seems as a realy solid project

AVAX is seems to be a new project, it's on IOU now as listed in https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/avalanche-iou...
I remember this kind of IOU projects in the past, usually the price will fall once listed in exchange.

Now, you are saving vs, so you like to compare Cardano on AVAX, I think AVAX has to prove it's a worthy project first, ADA is already proven, it's liquid since it's listed in different liquid exchanges and it has a lot of supporters as well, so I will choose, I won't take changes on the new one.

I am a long time holder of ADA as well but I think AVAX is also going to be one of the big projects in the crypto space but, I won't suggest you buy the IOU tokens because buying them is bit risky and the prices are usually heavily manipulated by exchanges.

AVAX has potential. Cardano has potential. Both are in demand because of the expectation that they will fulfill that potential.
But we have to also remember that Ethereum has a huge huge first mover advantage. And we have to remember that crypto projects don't stand still, and are under constant development. Whilst these two coins do look good, don't forget that the leader is still in the lead, and shows no signs of relinquishing that position.

Why will you even think of comparing a project that just finished ICO with one that has been in the space for quite a long time, it's not wise. Cardano has been progressively developing their project over time and then a good project (Avalanche) just pops up recently, then you start comparing both? Let's see how well the project does with development before any comparison.

Just because they did well in ICO, a lot of people are hoping for big for AVAX. But we can't blame them especially if they are investors. So if you are one of those, you need to closely follow their developments and assess if they do have the chance to compete with Cardano. But right now, you can't compare them yet.

because Avalanche teams are complete blockchain professionals,

What an argument you have. So you think that Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano and one of the major developers of ethereum is not professional? And what about dozens of academics who are researching and  developing it right now?

If an exchange offers IOU for AVAX token would you be buying?

Although predictions says its going to be more than $200, you might wanna see to it when the markets open it for trading. $6 is cheap but you are not sure how much it could drop since AVA hasn;t yet release their product.  AVA is a very advance project which aims to unify all trading assets including the the ones from other markets like the commodity, stocks in one platform AVA. I have read about this when they were searching of ambassador here in bitcointalk.

Ava is a good project and from what I read its tech is even better than the coming Ethereum 2.0, it is left for the market to decide on its price. I think what would affect the project is the way they go about their ICO, the team got greedy and increased the cap and majority if the tokens is going to seed investors and early investors so if they decide to start dumping on the market it is a bad start

I hope so. I've already bet on Cardano. But the thing is I've seen no one compare the 2 from their perspective. I don't see them offer things that Cardano can't offer. Perhaps more security since the attack you need to destabilise the system is an 80% attack and not 51% attack.

Thks for everyone who participated.
Yeah I think we should wait and see but it was definitely something I would have invested in if I knew what it was all about and who was behind it.
What I meant by the AVAX (Avalanche) IOU was this: https://www.coingecko.com/fr/pièces/avalanche-iou

IOU="I owe you", some people who bought the ICO can sell them to other people without actually transferring the token to them, and then transfer it when the blockchain becomes functional

Cardano team should know that Avalanche is capable of defeating them, the reason why I said this is because Avalanche teams are complete blockchain professionals, it's possible for this project to become top 10 in just few months, let's wait and see
