Scammers are very smart on how to get peoples attentions and they are also smart in inventing new strategies that can be so real to easily convince people
Sometimes, it is no need to be very smart to be a scammer because once they only promise very promising results and prospects, they may be able to do that easily if they find certain people who are greedy and also obsessed with money, instant ways, and beginners who don't really know the world of scams.
But, although we have told them many times, they will not believe us and become a victim of certain scams.
Convincing people by giving a high promise, moreover wth instant profits to gain highly will really attract many people as stated above. And this becomes a very good loophole for scammers to take advantage of those people.

Beginners don't get awareness of scam on social media,  some mostly get aware of scam with personal experience.
In fact, social media become the most platform that newbies get and fall into scam. Although have been taught several times, they may be too easy to be approached via social media.

People do actually get a lot of awareness on social media(though mostly depends who they're following). It's just the simple (and unfortunate) fact that most of them don't read.
Simply as that. People often get aware through social media but when scammers start to target them, they tend to be more greedy and bite their offers. That is why people often get scammed because their actions pushed them to fall as victims. So most likely, it’s not the social media that lacks awareness, but the people themselves.

Often we have been seeing a lot of scams on social media. Shouldn't we take a lesson from there? Who can help us prevent scams unless we help ourselves? We are responsible for being deceived. Because most scam happens due to our greedy behavior and careless activities. We need to be strict about our privacy as well. We can avoid the biggest scams just by avoiding greedy offers. It's pretty simple nothing is free in the world and there are no quick rich methods.

Yeah I was even a victim of one, although it was not crypto-related scam, but still fake vouches with lots of bots reaction makes it less suspicious. I had moved on from it already, but it should still be a hard lesson for me to always bring to my daily life though I am not doing any sort of money-related transaction in social media sites like Facebook.
There is just nothing that would protect you except you and support themselves are useless anyway even if you reported since you are also a consumer of their product already. There is nothing that would make me trust anything anymore in social media sites.
Please be mindful that it's scammers are everywhere and not just in any social media since their main goal is to lure the prospect to their traps and once they lured them in then that's the time they'll do everything to scam people who hasn't enough knowledge of what they were doing. Being aware of how scam/scammers work will suffice the need to spot them since they almost have the same storyline on how to take something from their target. Be it crypto related stuff or real money, voucher, things, scammers will take whatever they get from their target.

In part of crypto there are a lot of people who would like to join in but of course, they don't know where to start from scratch and one of the best ways to access information is social media that's why some of them are visiting, joining and interact with those groups to gain more knowledge but some of the people take this as an advantage to scam newbies because they don't know how the circulation works but some of them have a weak thing to ask first if this is reliable or not to make sure their safety. Investment with knowledge and experience is the best thing to do, if there's someone pretending to teach you and ask for money it is not all about the training. If you join the group to make your selves grow it is all about the community helping each other there's no need to pay.

In my opinion i don't see how social media can help to reduce scam, only people can help to reduce scam by informing other people how scammers work, all social media applications cannot upload awareness of scam on their app, social media applications are platforms for networking, people meet new people and strangers on social media, so there is no way they can now work against themselves by warning people not to network with one another.

It goes without saying that people should know offers that are too good to be true, and they should think twice before falling victims to scam, i don't feel we can hold any platform responsible for the rise in scam, even here in bitcointalk that's a bitcoin forum, it is the community that make up the forum that warns others about scam and scammers and not bitcointalk itself.
The only way that we can reduce scamming in all aspects is being educated and informed about scams, and knowing the investments well before you fall as another scammer’s victim. The social media is not responsible to make us aware, since we are all responsible of our own actions. But somehow, through social media, we get to learn and discover that this certain investment is another trap to fall us as victims.

The process of scamming people is a lucrative business. But we have to remember that every business needs a market, to sell their product. If we as end-users (commonly referred as internet users) do not discover scam plans and behaviors, then it will keep on existing and thriving. Social media are the most popular way of communication used in the present days. It is the best way to reach out more people with zero costs and fast speed. However, some pushers use such ways for scamming others by making use of their weakness. Well, we cannot stop scamming from existing on social media platforms. What we can do though is to be aware of types of scams, and avoid them altogether. But as always, we are also responsible for our own actions, and it is up to us to keep ourselves safe and secured when investing. Being aware, being diligent and exerting extra effort will significantly reduce the potential of falling into scams. There is no magic formula that will prevent you from scamming. However, by having all these in place, you have significantly increased your ability to avoid it. So please, be careful with anything you do online.

Personal experience can be dangerous, It is better you even get awareness from peoples experience than randomly from social media, because some of the individuals who present themselves as activist against the activities of scammers online are scammers themselves whose plan is still to scam you, but their strategy is to make you unsuspecting first with the disguise of helping you.
Social media may sometimes need not to be trusted because apparently, this is the playground of all scams happening today. These scammers will do everything to get your attention by pretending to be helpful at first but later on they will start to set up their plans and steal everything you have. So we should still be aware and be very cautious in every investments we plan to invest as it can be another scam project funded by big scammers in the social media.

Scammers are very smart on how to get peoples attentions and they are also smart in inventing new strategies that can be so real to easily convince people . My worries is about beginners who are coming up, and if you make research most beginners in crytocurrency and on social media were once a victim to scammers and till date some beginners still fall for scammers.

To me,  the social media would have been the easiest way to fight against scam, to make beginners get aware "the strangers  you meet is at own risk ". This can always be in the mind when one encounter a stranger who want to offer free money or do business, one will have to think how real can it be.

Beginners don't get awareness of scam on social media,  some mostly get aware of scam with personal experience.
The main social media platform scammers are using this days is Telegram, they find it very easy to scam someone using their tricks in Telegram, and sometimes it is not only beginners that fall into their trap, even some experienced users whom are greedy are also always involved in the scam. Scammers can never live social media because they have the way the arrange their scams in all the social media platforms.

Until today, we are still prone to these scammer tactics. Yes we are aware that these scammers kept improving their skills, abilities, etc. They don't just master it quickly, but also takes time to learn and apply until their grand plan succeeds.

This is why they kept targeting newbies and beginners who are very prone to "shiny objects" that would entice them to do it rather than learning to have second thoughts by seeking opinion from the experienced ones. But they're also targeting Average Joes too as they kept improving themselves. They also learned from their failures in scamming, so they never stop learning something new to easily scam victims.

We just keep on being role models to let our connections aware about the latest scamming tactics, etc., and how to prevent them.

Social media has always been a good source of awareness not to fall for different traps of scammers. Its just that people are not mindful and are not cautious on what kind they are investing. Maybe because of personal greed or desires or whatsoever, but the fact that you invest simply means there's always risks on it. Its either you fall into wrong investments and lose your capital, or you end up investing in the right investments ang gain good amount of returns.

Greediness is the main reason why many people even skip to do searches and find the legality of the said investment and even forget everything that has been read in the past. In fact, being too active and connected to social media can be a source of information but in many cases, this is also a source of major scam incidents. I was thinking that there is no way to stop them as they found out that the use of social media is their big asset to success and know that many people would still fall into their trap.

Despite of many warnings announce by sec and other government entities about those MLM scams and other type which use the presence of bitcoin and crypto still there are people fall on the traps because they ignore those news and think about that SEC is just taking the opportunity away the opportunity for then to earn. That's why they fall from bad schemes and regret the decision they made.

OP you are correct. And I agree with you.  A lot of people who have watched or heard stories of people getting scammed on social media live with the belief that - it can't happen to me, I am too smart, the other person is not or just too greedy. But this is not true. Anyone can be scammed that is why you may mostly like become more conscious of getting scammed when you have had a personal experience. That is why the maxim says, experience is the best teacher.

I think social media have done enough in creating awareness about scams and scammers but the problem has always been the victims who do not pay more attention to the information they see online about scammers rather they focus more on trying new things they see either through adverts or brand influencers who get them attracted through their post and sugar-coated talks. A lot of people get attracted once they see an advert about money doubling business not minding the origin of the business and what the outcome will be they always get involved because they want to make x10 of their investment capital. Until people stop being moved and focus more on getting vital information about a particular investment before they get involved, they will never stop being scammed.

Scammers have made social media their home; they find more victims there than anywhere else; they believe that young people spend the majority of their time on social media, so they devise various methods to entice victims to scam.
Greed always leads to us being scammed; let us all remember that no one has free money to share; it's all a trap for beginners to fall into; please be wise.

Greed is always a gap for us to be deceived by scammers. because of the various methods used by scammers to target people who are easy to persuade and promise big income. Social media is no longer safe for young people who do not understand the dangers that lurk them. need to be aware of fraud from an early age so that there are no further victims. scammers continue to grow and develop so we also need to develop and must be smarter than scammers.

People work hard every day to put food on their tables, and scammers are no exception. They are constantly on the lookout for new innovations and strategies to improve their method of defrauding people; they come up with brand new ideas every day that appear very real in order to take advantage of people who fall victim to their trap.

Beginners should know that cryptocurrency is not ponzi, is a place where you will invest and expect double of your investment in few days or hours, also beginner's should know that they can't trust anybody they meet on social media, social media is just full of scammers so you have to be very careful with people you meet on social media, don't disclose your confidential information with any stranger you meet on social media because they can't be trusted. I know scammers are coming up with new strategies everyday but we also have to be very careful and smart.

It is supposed to be the thing but unfortunately, this is even getting worse as scammers find another way to scam us.
Almost every day we spread awareness but almost every day as well we heard some people got scammed. This means that this is not really an effective way, it somehow could help but I think we don't have the chance to eliminate and get rid of these scammers in the community. This situation will depend on us and everyone should have to care of ourselves as these scammer will certainly be doing something.
It goes without saying that you should not expect scams to be completely eradicated, that isn't something that is possible, no matter the level of awareness about scam that is spread around the world, there must be people that probably do not have access to the information, people that lack knowledge, greedy people, etc, that must still fall victim. Before cryptocurrency people were scammed with fiat and other valuables, now crypto has added another method for scammers to use, it is not a new thing, and some people must be unlucky.

Spreading awareness is a very effective way of reducing scam, and it is working, the reason why you feel it is ineffective is because you expect scam to be completely wiped out, which is impossible.
