Scammers are very smart on how to get peoples attentions and they are also smart in inventing new strategies that can be so real to easily convince people . My worries is about beginners who are coming up, and if you make research most beginners in crytocurrency and on social media were once a victim to scammers and till date some beginners still fall for scammers.

To me,  the social media would have been the easiest way to fight against scam, to make beginners get aware "the strangers  you meet is at own risk ". This can always be in the mind when one encounter a stranger who want to offer free money or do business, one will have to think how real can it be.

Beginners don't get awareness of scam on social media,  some mostly get aware of scam with personal experience.
I disagree, social media is one of the easiest platform to get scammed. Social media is a virtual community, you can be anybody you desire. Most times what you see on the profile isn't real. I think if people just use their common sense they would be able to detect the scams from the go.

Social media is possibly the most virtual space we have, because it's not real, thus becoming a favorite place for criminals to run rampant. That social network is the information channel that helps the government and people spread anti-fraud news the fastest.

Today, most national governments, major organizations around the world, as well as local police departments have different social media outlets. New news and announcements are always broadcast on the first social network to help people update the fastest information.

Goodnight, o_e_l_e_o 🌹
I have seen several scam awareness posts on social media, but newbies don't take them serious. It sounds very normal and doesn't bother them. Even when the signs are too obvious, there is always this part of them that will say, give it a trial, it might be real. So, no matter how you create the awareness, the best form of it is experience. Once a newbie has experienced the scam, he will now recall all the advice he recieved and ignore. From henceforth, the newbie will not fall for such scam again.

But then, scammers are very dynamic and smart, introducing new technics to their scam business, yet they possess similar characteristics. They will always be at the pushing end.

It is supposed to be the thing but unfortunately, this is even getting worse as scammers find another way to scam us.
Almost every day we spread awareness but almost every day as well we heard some people got scammed. This means that this is not really an effective way, it somehow could help but I think we don't have the chance to eliminate and get rid of these scammers in the community. This situation will depend on us and everyone should have to care of ourselves as these scammer will certainly be doing something.

People do actually get a lot of awareness on social media(though mostly depends who they're following). It's just the simple (and unfortunate) fact that most of them don't read.
And if they read, it’s like they never take time to understand and learn from it. So maybe, it’s better that they experience being scammed at first, because that will leave a good lesson on their part and make them become cautious more on what and where to invest. Social media these days have posted a lot of awareness most particularly on scamming, sad to say scammers still find ways to continue looking for victims and make them fall on their traps.

If we don't need to e scammed then we must have a mindset that we should not easily trust any person we met in the internet because as we know that many scammers nowadays trying their best to get your attention so that they can communicate with you and easy for them to scam you. An also nowadays we need to be more vigilant for the sake of ourselves. ReSearching and investigate is also good if we are newbies .

scammers always stalk their victims and use various methods to trap them and use them for profit. Social media is a good place but on the other hand social media is the most dangerous place. we do need to be vigilant and must know the characteristics of a scammer. we must be smarter than scammers so it is not easy to fall into the trap. it is not easy to believe messages from strangers who will give big prizes or get giveaways that we have not participated in before.

The best advice you can give to beginners is to avoid all social networks. That is, do not register accounts in such places at all. Once upon a time, such networks were invented for communication between people around the world. But unfortunately today it turns into one continuous dump of fraud. There are official news sources where you can monitor events in the world. But social networks, and the news that they provide, are one big evil.
Today it is time to make a regression in communication, teach your children not to trust strangers, not to communicate with them, and to use the Internet for a minimal time until a person is fully aware of all the danger that he can receive from the network.

Most of the time we just realized that we fall into a scam or Ponzi scheme and make regrets after losing our hard-earned money. I'd see how rampant is this kind of trick and I believe no one is not aware of these things but because of money, in fact, hearing about doubling your investment in 1 day is really enticing and changing their minds make some people got believing it, especially those who are really in need of money.

Even if we spread awareness every day, posted on the walls, I'd see no help because people will still ignore this and even don't bother to read it.

Some adopt then think that they can play with fire and can able to earn once they got their payments on those scam platforms. There are also other people who are just posting referral links which and didn't care about promoting scams since they only think the referral payments they can get from convincing people to invest. This is rampant on social media and it happen before and even exist now so I think this one will never stop since there are still new people keep coming and that's the target of those scammers.

Beginners are seeing those different of scams on social media. The problem with them is that, they prefer ignoring it than making a research unto it.

Social media is full of scammers I agree. Platforms like Discord, Facebook, Twitter and Telegram are the ones where scammers are lurking, waiting for their prey which are the newbies. It's very unfortunate to see scammers getting the money of those innocent newbies thru their strategy but like I'm always saying, a newbie investor will not learn unless they will experience it. Getting scammed once is still ok but to get scammed twice then there's a problem to you already.

Overall, doing research before investing really helps an investor be knowledgeable on which are scams and which are not. At the end of the day, as long as there are new investors coming, there will be scammers that will try to scam in their best possible way.

Newbies will continue to fall for scam it I don’t think it can be completely eradicated, all those newbies joining cryptocurrency are looking for easy and fast money that’s why they easily get scammed, scammers are doing research and getting new methods to scam so matter how you warn the newbies they won’t believe, that’s why I think scam can’t be easily be eradicated. Social media is a place where most of those scam happen and why you don’t trust anything you see there.

Yeah, it’s very hard eliminate those gullible newbie because they know exactly the risk of what they are doing but sometimes they still want to invest there money for a chance of quick profit. Scammer knew this that’s why they keep doing this different scheme as there business on crypto. It’s nearly impossible to educate all newbies for awareness but it’s not bad to educate them as much as possible.

I will like to correct one notion in this discussion, scammers are not smart people they are just playing stupid tricks and if the victims could pay more attention to their tricks you will discover their stupidity. That is why they only scam the gullible one who doesn't want to pay attention but wants huge returns. Scammers always leave a trace just look closely and you will discover this secret. Social media users can do much by exposing scammers' tricks to give warnings to others.

Social media nowadays is not that reliable anymore as a lot of fake news and information have been spreading online. So never expect that you can find awareness here as this is definitely a place of all scams happening. This is the reason why we have to DYOR every time we receive offers that talk about huge returns. Or if you have been a victim before, learned from it and never repeat the same mistake anymore.

As someone who has some experience reporting scams in the forum, one thing that I noticed is that there are tons of scam websites and promotions that can be easily avoided. Again, this all boils down to the giveaways and promotions being advertised to random people on the internet.

Everyone, please remember that there is absolutely nothing free in this world. Even if some random guy messages you on Telegram asking you to be part of their team; or that they must exchange their money for cryptocurrencies, etc. remember that prevention is always better than cure. Avoid putting yourself in a situation that would most likely get you to scam.

If someone offers free giveaways if you participate or if someone randomly messages you telling that they have some free cryptocurrencies, always be doubtful against them.

In my opinion i don't see how social media can help to reduce scam, only people can help to reduce scam by informing other people how scammers work, all social media applications cannot upload awareness of scam on their app, social media applications are platforms for networking, people meet new people and strangers on social media, so there is no way they can now work against themselves by warning people not to network with one another.

It goes without saying that people should know offers that are too good to be true, and they should think twice before falling victims to scam, i don't feel we can hold any platform responsible for the rise in scam, even here in bitcointalk that's a bitcoin forum, it is the community that make up the forum that warns others about scam and scammers and not bitcointalk itself.

If each of us spreads awareness on social media and we become positive people, we can reduce scams, as most beginners want to get quick money without making any effort and there are those who trust strangers in order to invest their money and give them income every month and what All of this is nothing but deception. We should know that social media is full of scammers and full of fake ads. We have to be careful and not trust those who offer us tempting offers because overconfidence and lack of experience are what will make us lose our money.

It's  not very common. Social media's only do the best to secure  users account,  when an account is linked with an email and scammers tries to hacked the password, the user of the account receives a message immediately about what is about happening to the account.

I don't mean social media platforms warning their users about their social media accounts. I meant people in social media groups posting warnings(or news) concerning hackers and scammers; which happens quite a lot especially when we get news from the top crypto-related news sites like Cointelegraph/CoinDesk/The Block.
Yes I understood you very well. It is only people who are lucky to follow this top crypto site like you just mentioned that can be lucky to get updates about scammers. Like I was saying if social media networks are also trying their best to spread scam awareness it will also reduce the rate at which people are being scammed, but they are only concern about securing users account.
