The good news is that LTU_btc got 10 more merits for that post after wolwoo brought it up here so it's been a positive impact albeit not intended.

I will continue to send merit in big batches to posters who are steady merit earners and need a boost for the next rank. Personally I don't care about ranks at all but some people do and if they are good posters I consider it my obligation to help them out, especially if our paths don't often meet for me to merit many of their individual posts.

What this has to do with the ban evading sockpuppets - remains a mystery to me.

Was trying to get a hang of this drama, Came across @wolwoo arguing over a 50 merited post with Suchmoon raising question on his giving LTU_btc 50 merits.

I think suchmoon saw that post and judged from his post quality that he was probably short changed when it came to becoming legendary. Merit sources who have huge quotas often find it difficult to spread it to all the users they would consider worthy. I think Suchmoon did it as a simple shortcut. Trying to find 10 merit-worthy posts from the thousands would be time consuming.

If he is a fairly known member, maybe he decided to grant him those merits. This is a subjective judgement that is understandable. Maybe consider LTU_btc lucky that suchmoon's eyes fell on that post. I won't say it is completely free from bias but it is what it is. Even TMAN proposed to offer a particular member 50 merits when he receives his refill. These are open instances of people knowing each other through the forum, not of people being relatives and then benefiting each other on the forum.

Your meriting a user 50 posts, and then those posts getting deleted isn't really all that convincing. This would be considered pretty shady for someone who is a DT1. Also, the fact that you accepted that those were people you knew makes it pretty bad.

Imagine if I am a merit source. If i made it a business to tell my family and friends to join and then merited their posts to up-rank them so that we could all earn more of "tokens", then that would be a pretty shitty thing to do.

I don't know what you think Sathoshi wanted this forum for. What we do know is that there is a certain bit of idealism in that approach. There are elements of being upright, fair and transparent. Not doing things like copying articles and then calling it "Ohh, but its not a big deal, right?" Things that may be considered street-smart don't really make the cut when judged against uprightness.

Maybe if you or these other people actually owned up to these shortcomings and mistakes rather than make excuses, there wouldn't be a need for this endless defense and excuses of racism/ national insults (LOL, seriously??).

ok there are a few things going on in this situation which I believe the mods and admin should take into consideration before passing judgement:

1) goraset (he admitted this himself) did copy paste an entry on medium website for a bounty submission in the past (circa 2017), which happened outside of this forum, for this he got a neg rating from multiple members already, and this is the primary reason for the ongoing beef some members including Marlboroza have with him for several years..
He apologized for this infraction, said he was new to bounties at the time; what I note from that encounter is that he gave me some examples of many members back in those times, using copy pasted / plagiarized entries for bounty articles, and yet to his knowledge he was the only one who got a neg rating for an identical bounty submission... (I think the reasoning was that his own entries were submitted as links by other people and they got paid, so he had to resort to same in cutthroat competition of 2017 bounty environment)...

I'm just pointing all these out for 1 time as context because lack of interest and defense by some Turkish members on these incessant dramas should not be interpreted as a tacit admission to anything...  

2) the_doctor account: it's the first I ever heard of this account, but goraset recently gave a sincere explanation about this in Turkish which some members have already translated in part, take it for what it's worth.

3) All in all goraset strikes me as an intelligent rational human being with diverse and net positive contributions to the forum. He has made a mistake in the past, which he paid for by being blacklisted from bounties for 2-3 years (and counting). The fact remains that especially during bull runs, the bounties become extremely significant income sources in many parts of the developing world. It's not so outlandish and bizarre as some might think, that in these cases some knowledgeable members invite their brothers, cousins, close friends, wives and girlfriends   to open new accounts and partake from the financial potential presented by the crypto space.

If later one of these side / alt / indirectly related accounts or whatever you call it makes a dire mistake and gets banned, should you go hunting the original account owner, who introduced all these people into the world of crypto currencies, and make him suffer as well ?..

This seems to be the most likely scenario in goraset's case, although it's not my style to pursue these details like an obsessed detective, so it's up to the staff & admin to decide naturally.

There is also possibility that they are alt accounts, but I won't take this as solid proof, just observing things...
It is strange that both users misspelled "cripto", one for account and one for social networks, but it is not really a evidence. I didn't check merit transaction yet because it is almost never proof of anything, but sometimes it helps to connect some accounts, if not directly "A with B with C with D" then "A with B" and "C with D".
