Let's just say that Newbies are banned from posting in the lending section. The scammers that keeps on making new accounts to get a loan would just go and buy an account in the Auction and/or Digital Goods section. Wait for some days and use that account to ask for a loan with no collateral. And also, most of the times, newbies don't get any loans without a valid collateral. It is mostly a high ranked member who defaults loans.

As mentioned above, this has been discussed a number of times, including the thread that the bitmixer spammer posted in to say that this is being discussed here.

The problem with this is that one can apply similar logic to almost every other marketplace section, plus the idea that people are free to do with their money as they wish, including making very bad decisions, such as lend to a single post newbie (this behavior however almost always means that you are actually lending to yourself).

With the above being said, the no collateral lending threads by newbies almost always lead to massive amounts of signature spam which leads to other legitimate threads being less visible.

This is your criteria ! If you will lend or not.

You can not punish the right by the attitudes of others who are wrong

no, the fact is, if moderator got ability to ban 'scammers', then the moderator would ban anyone if they don't like it as 'scamming', everyone here would be in risk, and even the theymos would be publicly humiliated if someone kicks him out for.

even though i don't like scam, i don't wanna see anyone got unreasonably humiliated.

I agree with this guy, it happens a lot in other forums.

ot: Why should the forum ban a rank from the forum? What's the different between a newbie asking for one, or one taking the time to hack/buy an account to ask for a loan with? I never ask for loans, but I do help find scammers and post constructive posts in the Lending section at times. You're making a big generalisation. People with money aren't stupid, they won't lend to anyone without proper safety precautions. Besides, without us the lending section would be dead with 5 posts a day Wink

this is not the right for dealing with the situation.

what if a newbie wants to take a loan and also has a valid collateral. you say he should wait a long time to rank up and then ask for loan.

of what if someone wants to take a loan without anyone knowing it, but still has a valid collateral. you create an alt account and you provide valid collateral and ask for it.

This disadvantages people from posting doesn't it and some newbies do have valid collateral?

Also: this needs moving to the meta section!

Hasty generalization. This disadvantages newbies who do have a valid collateral. Although the chance might be very small, it isn't 0%.

By the way, I don't think people are dumb enough to get fooled in these kind of situations Tongue.
I know but it clutters up the lending thread. This is not a lending forum. You want a loan? Spend some time on this forum and rank up your account or go to BTCJAM or something

I tried btcjam before but its hard to loan there because you need to give all your real information before you can start to borrow..
better to loan here because i can laon my account..

And yeah many people here are newbie asking for none collateral loan but we dont need to ban those people maybe they didnt know how lending works..

Idea:Ban Newbies in lending section
How: simple coding to disallow anyone below jr.member to post in this section
Why: This section is full of newbies asking for no collateral loans that are obviously not going to get filled. In fact, I have not seen ANY newbie get a loan here in the past week!
